Honestly, I first played this game when I was probably a little too young because it actually scared the shit out of me. But I remember it being a really cool and fun game once I got used to the violence lol
There were so many games I played as a kid where I could only get so far before having to quit out of fear. This, both Resistance games, F.E.A.R., etc. so I always just kept replaying them up until those points before quiting.
Dude same I remember the office area where when you turn the corner it shakes and like 3 show up out of no where and when I would replay it as a kid I would like pause and gather myself because I knew it was coming
thought i was the only one who's really scared, i can't remember what part it is that scared me a lot to the point that i don't continue playing it anymore lmao
This video somehow makes me smell how I remember my dads house smelling when I would go over and play this, sometimes with him but mainly alone while he watches the news or something like that. I miss those times :,)
Damn man, the action, the atmosphere, the voice acting... Even the somber narration before a level begins was just so damn awesome. This game was ahead of its time and I sorely wish we could get this game with updated visuals.
Wish they would remake this if they’re not making a sequel. It’s one of my favorites. Love when the greys look at you through the window when you get in there ship, and slowly walk away. Great game.
I played this online in 2013 on a sick day off from school. Parents were out and I hooked my ps2 up to the lounge tv and the Lan cable to the modem. (It amazes me ps2 could go online) There was one guy on in a lobby, I joined in and we played for hours against only each other. No chat, no nothing because it was ps2 and online gaming was simple on ps2. Then my dad came home and I had to turn it all off and pack it away instantly before I got caught. I was heart broken, I made a friend and didn't even know who he was or even have the chance to say goodbye after our hours on end of unspoken friendship. I logged on a few more times when I was home alone over the coming weeks in hopes of seeing him again... I never did. Thank you for that day homie whoever you are, we were both extremely good after that day
That cubicle area in the beginning was stupid scary when I was a kid. Like as the main character you had to take point and make the enemies jump out. Awesome game.
I remember playing this game back on ps2, not knowing you can press in the right stick to activate stuff, so I never did, night areas were a nightmare, I was a dumb kid sometimes lol
The bit about their evacuation route being overrun always killed me, who could have foreseen two soldiers being unable to hold off an unending tide of mutants and can withstand several seconds of machine gun fire before dying. I mean they were barely holding on with six people fighting so how those two didn't get overrun immediately is a mystery.
THIS FUCKING GAME OH MY GOD I never thought I would see this again but that scene where the dude asks for help then turns into a monster ( 42:36 ) has stayed in the back of my mind since I was like 5 and I could NEVER remember where it came from. I feel weird. It's crazy because the memory of it this shit was in 4k ultra hd graphics but now it looks like vaguely microwaved sausage. Incredible.
@@jhinabloomingflower807as much as i love both games, dont ever compare fear and area 51 to Doom 3. Doom 3 was an absolute mindboggling game with graphics that still look insane to this day. You cant say that about fear or area 51.
I remember i was 6 years old when i played it for the first time. i had to bring the power back in very first missions. I was so scared to go alone and i didn't know how NPC works so i literally was trying to tell them to come with me😂😂 but they were just standing there waiting for me to bring the power back.
I never played this when i was i finished it couple of times when i was much older and i can tell you this game feels special, it almost feels like a documentary.

Agent Mulder's voice in this is pretty bad. he could have at least put more effort. The thing that I hated about this game and Area 51 Blacksite on the Xbox 360 is that the original Alien designs from the old Area 51 lightgun are not used. Those designs looked amazing
@FirstPlays HD by chance how did you get this game to start properly I've got a version of it running on windows 10 but every time I get past the intro screen the whole area is blacked out and there is no lighting
So if I were to get this and download it now (the xp disc version) I would be able to play it on windows 10? I have the good hardware for this. And would love to play this again.
If you haven’t tried already. Yes, the game will run on Win 10 but you need to Download and install a few additional files to get the game to run properly but it is. It hard. Look up on TH-cam. Area 51 Windows 10 install.

I swear this game was a documentary info leak. Scared the crap out of me as a kid.

This and Breakdown were so awesome, I miss these 2005 games that were pushing limits and all had some fun quirks within them to find.
Don't forget Project Snowblind.

I loved this game man.. the hanger with the moon shit is hysterical with the Airplane quotes.
I remember a little of the dialogue in that part. " What's you're Vector Victor". lol.
I remember playing this game back on ps2, not knowing you can press in the right stick to activate stuff, so I never did, night areas were a nightmare, I was a dumb kid sometimes lol
I remember playing this game. It was pretty good but did not care for the endless waves of enemies that kept coming with ammo running out.
The incompetence of management in real life is incomprehensible, let alone in fiction.
A remake of this game would be so cool
Loved the multiplayer of this game too, got to play as aliens too if I remember correctly.

Back then games were MEANT to be played on a crtv. The scanning nature of the tv and slight blurryness made it look better.
Had this on PS2 back in 2005. I really enjoyed it
Did you play the online mp?
@@akaurfear wow 2 years ago I did this comment lol and no I didn't know they was one, didn't play online back then
Looks surprisingly good! With a title like that its no wonder the game appears to be pretty much forgotten these days, though.
I played this at my brothers house when I was a little kid its amazing how I remember to this day, was scared shitless of it too and idk why
You gotta love those beefy sounding guns in this game
I remember picking the steel book version up and loved this, beat the game in a few days just loved it so much.
