Awesome video man. I was gonna say for others watching to avoid touching the disc brake contact area with bare hands. But then I saw you clean with spirits after lol. Great to watch and good music too.
If the bearings overheated from the speed especially during summer times can burn all the wires can cause heated pressure even with mild explosion better have some air inside !
A hub motor is far more likely to fail from overheating than from rusting so why would anyone put an insulating seal on the motor covers which will make the motor more liekly to fail just to prevent a tiny amount of water seeping through a gap which shouldn't even be visible if screwed up properly and these droplets will usually be evaporated by the motor on the same ride anyway
sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Ayden Liam thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
U can also little warm up the aluminum with torch but careful. Since aluminum is great er thermal Expansion than steel bearings it will expand and the bearings goes easy out
Great Advice. If something fails, don't replace it with the same part. It will only fail. I also didn't know about the difference between 2RS and Z or ZZ bearings. Good point. Fix the cause of the problem; don't just replace and repeat it. I would have made the same mistake if you hadn't mentioned it. Thank you.
This is a great video. My electric scooter has recently encountered a problem where the motor locks when moving forward, but it moves smoothly when moving backward, including when manually rotating. I want to know if this is because there is a problem with the bearings. The issue with the motor controller has been ruled out. Thank you, looking forward to your reply.
Hi buddy Where I can get plastic spacer you install where break rotor side I replace my bearing but I notice that I'm missing this spacer and wheel have play w shaft
@@EVCustoms Awesome! I’m in the Santa Monica area, so not too far from ya. I’m putting a new QS205 5t on my Enduro Ebike, it’s at a motorcycle shop right now getting laced with powdercoated spokes. I’m wanting to put the old 4t onto a custom stretch cruiser sometime in the next year or so. The 4t probably needs a onceover with new bearings and the threads on the axel was in terrible condition from the previous owner, and needs swapped out or re-threaded with a die, which is why I just bought a new motor. But I want to reuse the old motor on a different bike eventually. Is this a motor a project I could work with you on?

No silicon seals or gaskets only a oil seal on the Axel ( whits you poult that wiked piece of pipe truwe ) hmmmm Great jop. O and next time put a peace of whod on your tyle Floor before you beat iT whit an Axel 🤔. 😉. Ne great jop
Comment about the tiled floor was spot-on. Something protecting his electrical/electronics workbench too for heavy jobs like this, would help. Good work.
Advice from a professional. You should have upgraded and used 2RS bearings .Rubbers seals .Oh and of you heated the end plates a bit those bearings would come out really easily.
@@FightFilms Whether using metal shielded or rubber sealed bearings the frictional losses are about the same .The grease does contribute a small amount to frictional losses verses a lightly oiled bearing which would not be suitable for this type of application. Always use a decent brand of bearings as the tolerance and quality control are better . Fitting a bearing correctly is essential as banging it in by the inner ring will cause damage versus pushing it in by the outer shell on a press or by means of threaded rod ,washers and nuts is the correct way.
Thank you for the time you spent to make and upload this video.

Good works just wondering why didn't u use some high temp silicon on side plate b4 tighten it up to waterproof it

Maybe take the rotor off next time to keep the grease off it?
Why? Is brake cleaner not available in your country?
There is no way that I would be doing that with the brake rotor still attached.

@Ayden Liam it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!

Que rodamientos lleva ?
That plastic pipe is special adjustment does it make any heat?
Why would you keep the rotor on when doing all that?
is ok to apply grease inside motor magnets ? because i did
8:46 i smashed soo hard but bearing does not move... and even i cracked whole case from smashing... what to do if it does not want go out?
Bro can u tell yhe size of rear motor ball bearing does 6202 size work ?
Damn, you need 2RS bearings that are watertight, not Z or ZZ that are only dust protected.
Hi... i didn't know that about dust and watertight, but also previous old bearings was Z...

oh no i got zz too, what if i slather a ton of grease?

Did you put red insulating varnish on the stator and rotor ?

I have the first version of the Crystalyte Phoenix motor. I would like to put a disk brake on it. Can it be done? Is there a replacement casing ?

Where I can get plastic spacer you install where break rotor side

I really never seen this motor, very curious about the windings. I think, it blows lot of current with little noises
Does anybody know where I can buy a new axle for my ebike wheel, my thread has totally gone byby
THAT'S GOOD
Where are you located? How much would you charge to refurbish a QS 205 4t motor like this?

what a the great design the stator for less noise I think.
what's the power?
nice work
So better use that last size bearings SKFon both sides looks it's fitting easy!?
Awesome
Great video! How wide is stator of that motor? What is power rating?
Rated for 5kW but fine for short burst between 8-12kW is what mine sees daily.
Can I switch a throttle to remote ESC?
no
