Hello Mark and many thanks for your time producing this very informative video for us all. I have a question for you if I may, Apart from 200ml bottles of Vallejo airbrush primer, all of my paints are from Army painter which are well known for being a struggle to mix up like the one you mix at 2.17, but even under a minute, that's still really good. I have activator stainless steel balls in all of my paints and use one of those silver nail varnish shakers, but once I've squeezed out the small amount of egg yoke stuff first, removed the top and stirred the paint with a skewer, I find the ball inside never moves and the paint still takes ages to mix up, so have you tried Army Painter paints on this without any string needed to start with. Many thanks and kind regards
I put a ball bearing in all my paints for use with the FOUR Es you can buy a box of them from MIG ammo. You can always retrieve them for using again as the are stainless steel.
Yes it is beneficial adding a SS mixing ball or glass bead but a little tip dont waste your good money on Ammo Mig or AK mixing balls go to an engineering or bearing supply company and get some 316 7 or 8mm balls at a fraction of the rip off price they sell them for
Is it still working? I've been eyeing this one for some time now, but I have to import it to Panama, Central America. Wouldn't want it to stop working after a days.
@@blomy67 It looks like the same mixer as this one www.reddit.com/r/minipainting/comments/9kah7i/i_got_spoiled_with_a_fancy_paint_mixer_for_my/ But from a different brand? I'm confused here it seems like the quality is comparable or am I wrong here?
@@mikev8746 I can't comment on the quality in your link as we all know imitations and copies are out of control these days . Mine is from Four E's scientific Co., Ltd who specialize in this field of equipment and yes this is one of their lower end mixers
@@blomy67 I see, thanks for the reply man! I figured it was a good mixer for sure. Just did some research and the LabGenius version is the most talked about on places like Reddit, SpikeyBits etc. But it seems nearly identical as the one you have from Four E's. Given how its nearly impossible to get the LabGenius one in Europe I hoped that the mixer you had was equally potent. Sure looks that way. But I wouldn't know how to discern imitations and copies from the real ones. I guess that comes down from buying from a trusted seller?
Bud i just bought one: its a powerful little machine and it is Good Quality. As far as i know it has a 5 yr guarantee. The machine was produced for Science labs/Blood work and stuff. This isnt the only machine on the market. Nail Polish mixers are basically the same thing. Is it a Game changer? Im still not sure if its any better than shaking by hand. If you shake too much? It might even make the paint "Cure"or go off. But only time will tell if it helps me paint or destroys the paint in the Pot. I use Vallejo; Scale 75 and one or two Citadels. Youd prob get a Vortex from the States; easier than buying this one from Australia. They are all made in China. So you can buy direct from the Chinese through Ebay or Amazon.
I got mine on eBay but that was back in 2019 from an Aussie seller . Back then they were $119 AU with free shipping they do have price breaks so the more you buy the less you pay . Just search FOUR E'S SCIENTIFIC Mini Vortex Mixer Superchargers 3000rpm. I hope that helps .
Yes you can I use the 120ml / 4 oz bottles you just let the shaker do its thing . I do start with a short manual shake to get things started . but it does handle the larger bottles fine
Trust me it's not like that now . The video was done when I just set up the new Hobby Room after we had some flooding . I resurfaced my bench tops with vinyl floor covering instaled a pull up powerpoint with USB outlets so everything was fresh
I wonder if that would work to make quality watercolor paint (dry pigment with a gum arabic/water solution) Normally people make artist grade watercolors by using a glass muller on a glass surface......... could it be this easy?
Thanks for that, Merry Christmas
Thank you for the video! Helped me to choose to buy this thing :)
Thank you for testing. Very helpful
powerful little machine
It certainly is! I just bought one after seeing it getting good reviews from modellers!

Mine came with ball bearings. Where do those go? Any advice?
They would be for inside your paint bottle
