What an absolute nightmare to disassemble! I laughed out loud at times as your reactions were exactly the same as mine would've been.... especially with the soldering... AAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! 😂 Great video 👍
Well done your fight with German technology paid off in the end. Looks great. That iron was made to last and you have extended its warranty hopefully for another century. You have shown real patience and determination.
What on Earth was that poor iron buried in? Great restoration. My grandmother had one of these oassed down from her mother, not quite as fancy as this, but very very similar in the way it was made, meant to be filled with hot embers from the fire in the stove. The bottom of her iron was one of the smoothest things I've ever felt, no telling how many miles of clithing had polished it smooth. My other grandmother had a regular sad iron, that just had a heavy plate you heared up on the stove. It was so much lighter, but she was a seamstress, so she used hers a lot, every day. It was so cool to see you actually use the iron! I loved that part. I think it was worth all your trouble, after all.
Hello, my dear friend. I'm very glad you liked the video. This was the product when I bought it. The owners thought it could no longer be used and threw it away. After their grandmother passed away, they took it out of the warehouse. When I wanted to buy it, they sold it to me for a very cheap price. The two irons you mentioned are beautiful and special. They are lightweight. It is a better feature to have, especially since tailors use it constantly, it is more practical.I hope you still have those irons. The old ones are actually better quality than the products produced today. I love irons that work with coal or embers. They give more efficient heat and can be used for a longer time. I'm glad I could take you back to the past. Thank you for watching the video and sharing these precious memories with me. I am very happy and thank you.❤️❤️
I’m curious where or how items such as this are found. Where has this object spent the last many many decades? Good job bringing it back in all its simple glory!
I'm very glad you liked it. Thank you very much. These products are either left to their fate on the roadside or thrown away, or people find them in the warehouse of their house when their grandparents die. When they are in bad condition, they think that they cannot be repaired and sell them at very cheap prices. I buy them too.❤
Hello sir you was very patient this was a really difficult iron to take a part. I'd of sworn as well when that bit broke of. The end result was it looked magnificent you truly are a master restorer well done. Xx
Hello sir, sometimes my patience is very difficult, but I am satisfied with the result. This valuable comment made me very happy. Thank you very much. I am very glad you liked it.❤
And now you know why that iron is still around. They truly made things to last back in the day. I think I yelled “Oh S-t !” Every time you bleeped. Beautiful restoration.
Parabéns ficou lindo amai seu trabalho de restauração do ferro de passar minha avó tinha um desse ferro também me lembrei do dela 💕. Deus abençoe seu trabalho 🙌💕🇧🇷
OMG!! I am floored!! Amazing workmanship, amazing knowledge of all the processes needed for restorations! How do you know how to do all that stuff? Are there schools for that?? And to top it - the greatest tools I've ever seen! I am envious of your girlfriend. Hope she appreciates you! Goof luck with your channel! BTW, hopefully nobody will be ironing with it. This iron is a work of art and should be displayed in a glass case somewhere, maybe even in the museum.
I did not go to any school for this job. This is a process that I achieved as a result of the knowledge accumulated over time and manual labor. My girlfriend is my biggest supporter. She has incredible fun during the video shooting and editing. I love her very much. We are very happy that you liked the video. More There will be many videos coming. I hope you like them all.❤️❤️❤️
New subscriber here. I’m amazed at the phenomenal work on these restorations! This one looked like the iron had been on the titanic at the bottom of the ocean lol, yet you managed to restore its original beauty. Excellent work making the impossible possible 😍😊
I'm very glad you liked it. This was my choice. Of course, it would look great in silver. If I restore an iron again, I will try the silver color. Thank you.❤

O.M.G.! That girlfriend must be a keeper! I’ll bet her mother thinks you’re wonderful too. What you have to do for “brownie points” these days”! Do people still actually use those irons anymore! If not, a very nice ornament to chat about. Well done for your persistence! How many injuries did you sustain?!😆❤️
I would do anything for my beloved girlfriend. She would do anything for me, too. We had a lot of fun while shooting this video. She is my beautiful assistant. Her mother liked it very much and she still uses it. She does tailoring work from time to time and enjoys it even more when she uses this handmade iron. Even though there are minor problems, everything is fine and everyone is happy. I am very glad that I could make you happy, too. Thank you very much for this valuable and nice comment.😆❤️❤️❤️

You are totally right.Wd 40 does lots of things.(It is also a penetrating oil but not the best one.Used mainly for removing water from surface).I found that it works well for rusted screws with heating.❤️❤️❤️.
Love love love your work but i really hope you discounted the price for breaking that corner off and not being able to weld it properly so it was as good as it could’ve been. It’s unfortunate that it broke, definitely an accident for sure but sad still the same.
I'm very glad you liked the video. I didn't expect the edge to break either. It was a bit annoying. But somehow it returned to normal and is being used now.❤️
You are remarkably patient. I'd have pitchedthisthing through a window by now!

I had to laugh a bit at the irony of doing a burnt wood finish on an appliance that gets well over 200 degree C. Beautiful work.

Nice... Instead of burning wood inside it; coals from a near by fire would've been used to heat it up.
I'm very glad you liked it. Yes, actually the purpose of this is to use it with more charcoal. I went a little easier.

However, as for me, it will be better to paint the handle in "silver", not in "gold". "Gold" is needless color in this particular case.
