After seeing the interaction between giadas gift and creature lands I just realised that the same must be true for vehicles - maybe Legend could revisit his giant plow aggro deck
Luxior is the card I've been hyped about the most since spoilers came out, yet I haven't seen a single content creator play it (out of the ones I watch, at least). As always, Legend delivers the content that gets put aside by meta sweaters and janklords with the best of both sides in his own style.
My stats in mythic %-tier is currently W:5 L:3. I think this is a very fun and unique deck, bit janky, but games can be won without the combo. Great upside is that (just like with the Spanish Inquisition) nobody sees this coming. Thank you Legend for this brew!
First game was such a fun tempo vs midrange value matchup. Opp had all the answers but just couldn't compete with every topdeck being a 2- or 3-for-1 lethal threat.
That first game was EXACTLY what magic the gathering is about haha. Love that they "oops" ya because of the equipment interaction and still took that L. Awesome job xD
That opponent was weird, since they played so long although they were subjectively losing the whole game only to concede before lethal. But I think he oopsed cuz he activates Will before using removal, so Hall went from a 6/6 to a 6/8 and they had to 3-to-1 instead of a 2-to-1
@@RuneDrageon I still can't believe Wizards allowed that War of the Spark book to be published. Like, did they even read it before at all?! Because if they did, how were they ok with that quality?! That book has been ripped apart by the fandom for good reason. It contains - -multiple plot holes -total ruining of legacy characters -little to no *actual* danger in it -mediocre writing -erasure of queer characters because of course that would happen -literal retconning for basically no reason other than that author wanted to for his own ego And the list could go on. I know wizards isn't know for their book writing. It's low in their priority list, but damn can we just have half decent books?!
"Hofri forced to chump Kaito. That's not something I expected to be saying." - hahaha, right? This is what I love about Magic: that it can serve up these super weird, super interesting situations.
What an extraordinary deck! I love everything about it and I'm gonna play it. You're on fire with creativity lately! I mean tbf you've always been haha
Very interesting deck. Luxior, Giada's Gift sure is an interesting and original card. Probably one of the best metas to print it in, since the "planeswalker superfriends" deck was already a reality. Again, thanks for all your work, especially the brain for deckbuilding and the turn-by-turn thinking while playing. Really helps making me think about Magic and trying to become a better player.
Reminds me of a Jeskai deck I used to play with Sarkhan that turns planeswalkers into dragons. Need to give this artifact a try now. Great content as always!
Another sweet LVD brew, I was hoping you'd find a cool home for this weird new equipment and I was not disappointed! I do want to point out that Kaya's ultimate allows you to cast spells from exile as well as the graveyard, so you were good to go exiling everything in the last match!
Wow, at 28:29 it really surprises me how Farewell works. The time it resolves Sorin IS a creature. All the permanentes get exiled at the same time, since the card does not say "Exile all Artifacts, THEN exile all creatures, then...." So why first get the artifacts exiled, so that Sorin has the time to become a planeswalker and does not get exiled as a creature? Looks really, really weird how this spell resolves.
the spell is resolving top to bottom, one line at a time, even if the animation doesn't show it this way. that's how every modal spell resolves. one line at a time.
That first game is what kills me on the ladder about Azorius and Izzet. Run into so many matchups on the ladder that just stall and stall. Not saying I don't think long games shouldnt exist but it turns into a real slog to run through all their counters. Ran into an Azorius deck on ladder a few times that is just stabilising around board wipes, and then recycling counters and wipes from your grave back into deck. The wincon is Hall, but if you remove em you're just playing till you deck out.
I think the funniest Luxior deck I've seen had mirror box and croaking counterpart. Elspeth's but they're frogs. Her minus 3 can then grab a glasspool mimic to copy again, if you can chain well enough together, your next turn is a heavy swing on whoever has Luxior.
I dont know how you stay so calm. I was getting angry just watching you play against that first deck. Red/blue is one of the most annoying color combos to play against.
is it reasonable to add a single copy of lithoform since the planeswalkers and the creature seem to have great synergy? also is a marauding blight priest/lithoform engine/teferi/any creature land(preferebly cheap ones) too costly and memey to be tried?
Honestly I thought Luxior had no upside at first. It just makes your Planeswalkers objectively more vulnerable, I thought. Now I realize it also means creatures can't attack them, so it balances out pretty well.
I dismissed it when it was spoiled because I never realized you can still activate loyalty abilities on planeswalkers if they lose their type and become creatures. Leave it to lvd to show me why it can be a good card
Love the card. I built something similar, but I'm running more artifacts like Portable Hole and Bankbuster to utilize Tezzeret which can also equip in T4 like Teferi, and filter out excess copies of Luxior. Farewell is smart, although it does kill your stuff once equipped.
Maybe you Missed out on the explanation given in the Video. Farwell exiles the equipment first, turning the creature back into á planeswalker before it sees the „exile all creatures“ Mode.
@@DarryHirty that's if you choose artifacts. You might not want to do that in case you want to keep the sword. But yes, it's an option sometimes, you can keep the PW that way, but not both.

Kaya -7 is not a reason not to exile graveyards, the emblem lets you even cast from exile.
