I love the paint job.... I know why he did it matte to match with the carbon.. he didn't even want to leave the exposed carbon in the beginning but we convinced him. Then he picked thr dark grey literally to keep it uniform but since it was off a tiny shade everyone hated it!? I love it! It looks sick. Mickey u da man

I think the car looks like it was rattle canned really well. I’m not a fan of the paint color or the way the carbon clashes with it….. BUT it’s your car and I enjoy watching you build it. You should t have to apologize to anyone for building your car the way you want it. Excited to see this thing get finished!

I am not gonna lie, initially I worry that the FREK may be too big of a job for the guys at Throtl. But my concerns have subsided after they hired Quinn Clark. Quinn Clark can get the FREK dialed in to perfection.
Quinn is great so don't take this the wrong way. He has/had no bearing on us being able to finish this car other than lightening the load of the other projects around the shop for us so we can focus on the Civic and the Z. We would've got it done with or without him.
Regarding the a/c setup. What you should do is take it back to the body shop and repaint it any gloss colour, then it’ll be “cool” no matter how hot it is outside😎
I dig the ass-wing personally!! Those secondary spoilers were hella popular (well, more common anyways) on hatches when I was getting into cars, early-mid 90's... Tbh havent seen one in quite a while!! It has my approval, Mick!
I LOVE the flat matt black with the matt carbon fiber!! And that wing on the trunk.. nice!! Just a shame the canards on the bumper isn't matt fiber also just to offset the bumper a bit. I ain't a fan of Civics.. but this one is gonna be fire 🔥 and one of a kind no doubt!
You know what could be an interesting car to try to "street up"? A mid-90's BMW 850i, otherwise known as the E31. It's got a big V12 which I suspect could be turbocharged to produce more power and torque, plus it has amazing sound deadening, so it would be fairly easy to put a good sound system in it. Replace the stock suspension and brakes with something a bit more taut and find one of the, like, three companies that make a widebody kit for it and get one of those. Then wrap it with some color shift or hyper metallic wrap and enjoy a low, long hyper-cruiser. The E31 wasn't designed to be a super sporty car, but to handle extreme long distance highway bombing, and the stock engine's willingness to dig deep into the 150's whenever asked just proves it. I think it's a perfect car for the midwest of the US, where you can go hundreds of miles without ever seeing another car on the interstate highways. Get a 6 speed in there and boost the engine to around 500HP and just watch it target 200MPH.
Can't wait for the FREK livery, it gonna be lit like dustin S2K track car with black base, there will be something on throtl guys sleeve with that black base and I can't wait to see it complete, Mick vision never go wrong 🤟🏼
Whoever is already judging the car and saying stuff needs to quiet down or wait for the "Building a racecar EK hatch in 10 mins" video lmao. Building a car is far more of a process then most know and you should never put doubt on Mickey's taste (Especially on Honda's)

Almost every car you guys build is exactly how I would have done it. I might have had red accents, red valve cover, areas of body kit, red seats or black w/red harnesses. But a K swap rwd hatchback Civic is my dream car. You could offer me keys to that or a C8 Corvette and I would pick the Civic without a thought. This is the second time I watched this build.
Midwing looks great on the car, for some reason the car slightly resembles an Escort Cossie to me 😆👍 Whoever is doing the editing for throtl lately is killing it, kudos.
