I just got one of these recently and I absolutely adore it. I've been having so much fun making my own patches with it, it has many options for modulating the oscillators and making rich, moving sounds. My only complaint would be the small keyboard, but it's a very minor complaint. It's kind of like a much much better microKorg.
Considering how long this synth has been on the market and all the reviews I watched, this is the first where I am truly blown away by the sound, I think Katsunori just sold Novation a lot of synths with this review.
I have the Ultra which shares the same engine (except the Vocal Tune) It's really good to program, tweak and play as it has a very nice (full size) keybed !
@@wesantczak3774 the fun part is that, while I use the librarian very ofter to organize my own patches in the banks, I rarely use the editor as it's hardware panel is super intuitive and immediate (it reminds me a Xpander/M12 )
3:41 I see the problem with PAD 7 here too. I sent it back and got another one with the same error. According to the Czech distributor, this is a formal feature of the Mininona. I quarreled with the stupid ox. On the Facebook Mininova page I was told to update. It became worse. The problem remained, and even the writings appeared in an inverted mirror image on the monitor. I'd rather restore the older version. I wrote this on the Facebook Mininova page, they looked stupid. The truth is that the Czechs bought a faulty series and then sold it and tricked buyers with it. Everyone is considered stupid and they want to say that this disorder is a natural feature of the Mininova. Just not everyone is stupid enough to believe this. I would sentence such fraudsters to life imprisonment.
I have this synth. It has a pretty crappy supersaw, it can sound decent if you use the global unison though. The internal effects are not that good either, the reverb has only 2 parameters which is laughable. But with external effects, this synth can sound quite good.
Another good Synth with a terrible keybed. Only Korg MicroKey and Yamaha Reface keybeds are any good. People who want this should instead get an Ultranova.
Mininova has a few advantages over ultranova . Better vocoder and vocal tune. Animate buttons are reachable without lifting hands off keys. Smaller footprint is good too.

I can't believe how good this sounds in this video, and I have seen many other videos on this device, that sounded okay, Ujjie has the magic touch :D

I have one and LOVE IT!! Can't believe the sounds that come out of this thing! Although my new McaMini M1 doesn't not talk to it. Intel Macs only.
This thing would be great for techno and trance music.

I really like the sounds it makes. I just can't deal with key bed. So I bought a modal Cobalt5s 5S

It's really good to program, tweak and play as it has a very nice (full size) keybed !
Also the plugin editors/librarians make it super easy both to program and organize your sounds. Really the best of all worlds. ITB or out of the box.

@@zdave6083 Yeah, but the Ultranova has a Fatar keybed. You really need good keys over everything else.
@@pcuimac got decent keybeds already. Ultranova digital audio out is a big advantage over mininova.
