The clip with the lake mosa reminded me of the one video where a real Jaguar leaped into a river to catch a crocodile

8:00 You forgot to mention that Thick Hide also gives a huge defense bonus against the Mosa's Thrash Damage, as it deals its damage in many consecutive small hits when executing a thrash. This is one of the main things you have to worry about since you're likely to get grabbed by mosas as JagRex.

This is the exact same thing that happens in nature, carnivores that are able to swim WILL take up fish-eating and aquatic ambushing when there’s little or no competition to deal with. Take the sea wolves of west Canada for instance, they are a sub-species of wolf that have largely given up land hunting for coastal fishing and hunting.
Yes an another example is when tigers prey on fish and crocs when food is rare
It’s like ingame evolution without evolution being a actual feature, it’s really cool stuff if you’re into biology
What idiots are calling Weather Resistance situational when it's the only thing that keeps you and everyone around you from becoming barbecued by a lightning bolt? It's literally the one thing that EVERY player that isn't fully aquatic should ALWAYS have 3/3 in without exception.
It is very rare for other dinos to survive a lightening bolt. I heard it does 2.5 K damage. That is more than my 1.82 Para.
Full adult Sai have about 4000 hp when full so don't have to worry so much and of course Apa with their insane HP but most others should definitely not ignore WR.

Doesn't matter if YOU think you can survive the lightning strike. Max it out for the sake of others, be they babies or just smaller species. You don't wanna be the jerk that got all the babies killed cuz you couldn't be bothered to max out WR and got them all zapped.
There is literally no reason not to max it, especially if you get an inherit into it.

@@subvet3668 Maxing weather resist prevents you from being struck by lightning. But lightning will also damage all other dinosaurs in a certain radius around you regardless of the shelter they have or even if they’ve maxed WR.
If you yourself don’t have 100% shelter or 3/3 weather resist, you are a lightning rod which can kill everyone around you regardless of their own Weather Resistance or shelter stat if they’re close enough to you when you’re struck.
So yes, max weather resist always.
Huh, I wonder what BOB is up to, did not expect “Rexes are returning to the sea” being on that list.
JagRex seems so fun, I really hope Rex's swimming doesn't get nerfed in the future, it seems pretty balanced to me at the moment.

This video convinced me to buy the game! Honestly this sort of 'play as the predator' game has been something I have been looking for since I was little.

I like how the T-Rex is arguably the least Aquadynamic organism to ever exist, outside of maybe a Sauropod, but this game manages to have a top-tier water build for it

I haven't played this game in a while, and needless to say I was surprised to see so many "JagRexes" and "Aquatic Rexes". When I first played the game when it was released, I got +2 inherited into swimming, and +1 in scav, as a Rex, so I just lived off fish, usually in the fishing holes. The server knew me as the Fisher Rex, and I didn't even bother killing anyone, because fish actually filled me up. I was also the biggest aquatic on the server with my other account, so there was no threat in the water for me. It was lot's of fun. This looks like fun too, but ever since they nerfed growth, I've kind of been bored in the game. But that's just my opinion.

You are dead on about aquatic, I’m trying to imagine the sea snake and the turtle in the game. I believe one day when elasmo has someone to chase around in the water, someone’s out there thumbing their nose(shell?) at everything, and just a couple more things that I as a game dev can’t think of, BOB is gonna nail this thing and we will all bask in its glory....🤷♂️

He's like one of those Grizzly bears what learned how to dive underwater.
I know this vid is a little older now but I also advice after you have put your points into water affinity to go for mobility. A rex that can switch out between land and water AND invests into speed and strong legs can and will give you the edge. Mind you I'm more of a passive player but I do love those ambushes and it's fun to see them realize you are fast enough to get them.

Jaguar is actually big brain name. If you know what Jaguar's are like this is accurate.
As an aquatic meg main (who also plays aqua rex (I call it that because I don't touch land and lurk along the ocean floor)) I advise adrenaline, from personal experiences.
I’m trying to get into Aqua meg. What would you recommend build wise?
@@mossfang1 I usually go for wr first (2/3 in case you get an inherit) and after that, aqua affinity. Once you pass the possibility of getting a wr inherit fill strong lungs, if you're on rival shores I suggest a bit of a comfort/ combat aspect and if you're on plains I'd say moreso speed combat
com/surv because of the ocean in rival, much deeper/ more likely to stress your dino out/ the weather (in most cases I've gotten it much worse than plains)
And the speed combat for plains because of the flatter land, you'd be able to chase down a baby of the chance presented itself and be able to successfully kill it
if something doesn't make sense just ask this was a bit rushed :))

Don't even play this game and the man already made essentially a Spinosaur out of a Rex. Which would be a good semi aquatic as is.
Aside from a bone annihilating bite, yeah he basically made a spinosaur
i would recommend adding strong bones into the build since it helps a lot with hostile rexes and kronos (that seem to get played more recentlyO.o)

I will always remember the first rex I polar bear'd in the water running this build.
I did this build months ago, I tried full combat speed etc on land but found this was better to actually get big. I just found I died no matter what I did until I did this build.

Have you tried Aqua speed/combat sai? I highly recommend it. It’s hilarious and so much fun. But it’s best if you have combat parents so you get the inherits to allow you to 2/3 combat tree, then max out speed tree, make sure AA and strong lungs are maxed out too. It is the funniest builds you could ever go on sai and it throws everyone off.

Just off Topic Question, new Rex is out and , when Utah Raptor comes out, you could update your Tier list, just off Hand when the big Raptor comes out. Would be cool
He made mention to a similar comment of mine that it took several weeks of work to complete that tier list, ie not worth at the moment to do another

any update on this build after the phoenix patch? because i personally have found it to still work on my server, sure i cant chase down mosas and kronos, but the pure power behind it more than makes up for the nerf in speed, personally doesnt feel any different but i wanted an opinion
also i should have mentioned. ive managed to get my jagrex to 1.8. spec'd into survival up to 2/3 consti via resiliance

Biggest I ever got as Jag rex (before auto revive ) was 2.1 . So fun but took aaaaages since no 2x grow
Speed REx any good? I imagine most Rex spec for damage so u faster and small dinos are weaker anyway so it could be viable?
Speed + Aquat give a really good chance to escape and still got Rex power?

I recommend skipping adrenaline, its very bad, with 5/3 adre while on low health you only deal an extra 50 damage. tbh its kinda a joke how useless it is
