The Greatest actress ever, the legendary Bette Davis, she was an extraordinary women. There is nobody like her, she was incredible. It's sad the young people today don't know much about this marvelous lady. She is true legend and icon....A REAL Star.

Not necessarily the greatest actress but certainly one of the greatest stars. Barbara Stanwyck had more range.

..I have an observation to express.. about this interview, and INTER-VIEW-ER (Bill Tush), He was MOST DEFINITELY..PROBING (even trying to "BAIT" her as well (if you will), "HOW CRAFTY, AND SNEAKY" he came at her with an "ACCUSATION" laced QUESTION(S), "one in PARTICULAR" is/was.. when Tush "ASKED" her (in which he TOLD her, that "SHE TRIED TO.. "BLAST"..THE CONTRACT SYSTEM.. that is "HORRIFIC", "journalism"/reporting..and very inconsiderate, insensitive and DISRESPECTFUL (to MISS DAVIS), to "PUT WORDS.. IN HER "MOUTH", that for starters..SHE NEVER DID/NOR SAID!!!!! SHAMEFUL. LONG LIVE, AND ALL "HAIL BETTE DAVIS"!!!!!

Leilani. Thank you for your very interesting response to this interview. I rarely have anyone respond as thoroughly as you did, and do appreciate it. It’s good to know people are watching… and thinking! I am a retired Television Director and have been uploading many of the shows I Directed over the years. This show aired on Turner Broadcasting and CNN in 1982-83. Bill Tush had replaced Mike Douglas as the Host, after Mike retired. This was one of his first shows. I also Directed shows with Steve Edwards, Larry King, Merv Griffin, Dick Cavett and Steve Allen. I have over 525 uploaded so far
With this show, the questions Bill asked were most likely written by the Producers of the show. At the time…our network: CNN was “AT WAR” with “Old Style” Network TV and Big Companies like CBS,ABC,NBC,Paramount and Warner Bros. Remember that in 1982 “CABLE TV” was brand new and struggling to find a place.
Bottom line is that I loved your “Direct Commentary” and would love to see more. Please take a look at some of the my other shows on TH-cam, and let me know what you think. You can quickly browse “thumbnails” for them all at this link: and choose which ones you might like to watch: th-cam.com/channels/7w_tEJM8XOpSZC0SHJvRcA.htmlvideos?flow=grid&view_as=public&view=0&sort=p
Love to get your thoughts on them. Cheers Terry Thompson

Terrence Thompson. Thank you so much for even taking your precious time, and honoring me/and my commentary.. with a response (and an affirmative, and positive RESPONSE.. at THAT)! It may or may not mean a lot, nor be of any significance to anyone, other than myself.. yet.. I would like to say.. just for the record that I Am/and have for a long long time (many years).. appreciated, and thouroughly enjoyed watching the GREAT LARRY KING in his element of conversation style interviewing, and have long time been in "awe" of just how Personable he is/was with each guest.. and he seemed to make them feel at ease. To me Mr. KING is a "one of a kind" interviewer/and conversationalist.. and he seems to be a HECK OF A MAN.

Note: Terrence Thompson. I do want to leave "one more comment for now". I just "happened to come across, and therefore decided to view/observe the program that featured BETTE DAVIS paying Honor to THE GREAT WILLIE (WILLIAM) WYLER.. Her "JEZEBEL" DIRECTOR.. which just happened to be on the Merve Griffin Show. Well, I observed just how "Celebratory" and "REVERENT", he (Merve Griffin) "Seemed" to be, and I say.. "seemed" for a very valid reason.
To try and make a long story short, not too long after I watched this "Display" of "humble awe" (in quotes, in a NEGATIVE sense), on the part of Merve Griffin to BETTE DAVIS.. I soon after came across some other footage where he (Merve Griffin) was very obviously condescending, and to "keep it REAL", very "bully like" and "shamelessly teasing" of/to THE GREAT LAUREN (BETTY) BACALL, when he very inconsiderately questioned her about being a BETTE DAVIS FANATIC. Well. Needless to say, It most assuredly DID NOT "sit well" with me. Ms. BACALL was very clearly "a bit taken off guard.. and uneasy/and uncomfortable with his "WHITE MALE PRIVILEGE", by being so ARROGANT, and POMPOUS to even THINK to put Ms. BACALL in such an AWKWARD position. I said this, in order to make it known, and very very CLEAR, that I am NO ONE'S FOOL, nor am I ignorant. I am a pretty GREAT assessor of a person's character (and thankfully it doesn't usually take very long, before I have a good/or at least decent "feel" of a person's character/disposition/aura/OR.. as we have "coined" in the Black community.. A "Vibe".
Again, needless to say (yet, I shall), I was (already) NOT impressed/Nor (in the words of the LATE GREAT MALCOLM X.. Griffin did NOT have me "HOODWINKED"!!!!!

And TODAY, I heard Bette Davis Eyes and thought about her take on it back in 1981! #1 for 11 weeks it was!! Record of the year!! She never won that 3rd Academy Award thanks to a BITTER AND ENVIOUS Crawdad, but she did attain 11 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1981! Not even that stupid Katherine Heplard can best her out of that one distinction! BRAVO BETTE! ❤️❤️❤️
