I got the same earthy note in the ECBP A124. Only note I havent liked in a ECBP. Hope that note mutes a bit with air and some of the other classic EC notes come out

I have not had any barrel strength Elijah Craig. They go for about $80-100 around me. I don’t know if I’m going to purchase one. there’s so many good bourbons and not enough money.
The small batch is a good light sipper good for the price. Matter of fact. I just picked up a store pick of the small batch. So I would say yes. I would pick up the small batch, if you can find a store pick of the small batch even better.
May have misread this. Drink at a lower proof means it just doesn't drink hot to me not 130 proof hot. The higher the proof brings out notes that get muted when they water it down to the small batch proof. You will get some notes but they won't stand out like the barrel proof.
I got the same grassy dirt note out of A124. It's a drain pour. I'm a fan of most ECBP. Happy to hear this one is drinkable.
