    Lessons....be able to perform even when something goes wrong....sm57, tougher than steel, some have even been found in fossils and they still work. Take an extra mic. Well done on getting through. Oh... make sure you keep your mic stand upright. Yesterday my little mixer went down, but soldiering on I managed a repair so the gig went on, just like you!

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wise words Patch! A spare mic is a good idea. I should probably get one eh… 🙈 it’s all about pushing on through though! Problem solving until the problems are gone 😊😎

      Nice one. i imagine you have an amazing voice?? i have noticed that only one thing pays very well with busking (in the musical field) and that's having a God given beautiful singing voice. The main thing the public look at.

      @@mikechase1141 Sad but true :(

      @@NeungView yep. and im a big fan of this channel and the guy is helpful and friendly but the reason he is able to earn full time money from busking is because he has a great voice. Sadly the public arent fussed on a guitarist or songs they write or how well they play them. They care about the voice and the voice alone. If you have a great voice you will be treated like a God.
      It is very backwards as a good voice is mainly genetic at the end of day. A man could devote 20 years to strenuous hard work mastering an instrument then go busking and receive a 10th (at best) of the praise and money from the public that someone who was lucky to be blessed with a naturally beautiful tone to their singing voice would receive.

    I've used 2 sm57 mics for close to thirty years of gigging, recording and a spot of busking. Oh what they have endured. Funny thing is I dented the mesh screen on one, the very first time I used it. It became some kind of talisman as neither have gotten more than a few superficial scrathes over all these years. Cheers!

    On a recent busk my wireless mic and guitar setups both packed up almost simultaneously. I thought someone might be jamming my signals. Used my spares initially at the same frequencies just to check and they worked!!! All good for the rest of the set. Got home, tried all the gear and it all worked flawlessly????????? Always have spares even if they shouldn't work!!! Keep up the good work ARP. I was inspired to have a go at 75 years old and enjoy every second. Ted

    I am busking in Stevenage today - it was a last minute decision, so I didn't book.
    That's quite a target to aim for - would be happy with half that!
    3rd time busking with guitar - things can only get better - hoping that there won't be any technical issues - I have an SM58, lol 😂
    I'm rubbish at putting together videos, but I'll put something up.
    Here goes... wish me luck! 😊

    • @Certif1edBusking
      @Certif1edBusking 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha - the curse of Stevenage strikes again!
      First I discovered I left my guitar tuner behind. You know how hard it is to tune a guitar with street noise, right?
      Then a noisy event started, 20 minutes into the set.
      So I relocated, and there are loads of great places to busk, and not another busker in sight!
      Donations were coming in thick and fast.
      Both spots.
      Then my amp battery died - I was convinced I charged it, but I was wrong...
      No backup amp, electric guitar, so busk over.
      Nearly £20 in 2 almost 1/2 hour busks - 4 hours would have been peachy!
      I will return to Stevenage - don't let anyone else know how great it is for busking... all that cover from the rain - it's like the council thought to protect its street musicians!
      ❤❤❤

      @AugustRadioProject  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Certif1edBusking Dang! Sounds like you enjoyed the day none the less! 😃 I feel for you with the tuner... back when I played in a band, on the electric guitar, I'd forget my tuner ALL THE TIME - was always scrambling around just before our set trying to find someone to lend me one! Luckily my acoustic has an in-built one... 🙌
      Definitely return to Stevenage - friendly faces in that place! Stoked you got out there!

    Glad you were able to get the phone repair person to help you out. Never give up. If in the end you fail then at least you can say you failed trying. And the music shop needs to rethink it's business strategy. Lol. No microphones and no tech?? Really???

    I love what you do and subscribed along time ago. It’s cool to see your progress but I really think you need to tone down the narration. It’s very up in the mid range and needs better more easy on the ear equalisation… compression? x

      @AugustRadioProject  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for this! Definitely still learning how to do all this 🙌🏻 I’m sure I can figure it out. I put a small amount of compression on the audio, perhaps an EQ is a good idea. Perhaps even a better quality microphone at some point? I’ll see what I can do 😎

    U have an advice for more "dont Care what other people think" while busking? 😊

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe this is a good subject for a video in itself! 👀🙌🏻 but my go to is 1. Remember that nobody is thinking about you, everyone is thinking about themselves. 2. 90% of folk will walk past you as if you’re not there but this isn’t because they don’t like you, you’re in the street and they’re probably busy on their way somewhere 😊 3. If I’m real doubt, close your eyes or look up at the sky - perform for yourself and yourself only. You’ll see that folk watching are responding well. And lastly 4. Keep heading out there. The more you do it, the more used to it you get 😃 I hope that helps!
