In the final round of the 2017 Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods caps off a successful comeback with a final round 68.
The Hero World Challenge takes place at Albany in New Providence, The Bahamas. The tournament will see the long-awaited return of 14-time major winner Tiger Woods, after nine months of absence due to an injury. In 2016, Hideki Matsuyama captured a two-stroke victory by holding off Henrik Stenson.

Holy shit... I didn’t watch the 4th round because I was pissed about his performance in the 3rd round. His swing looks soooo good. That action through the ball on cut shots.... wowwww. Please for the love of god spare this man of any major injuries this year.
He's showing those flashes of old form, I still believe he has more major titles in him. I pray he stays healthy to prove all the doubters wrong🙏🏻

Let’s say last 8 years. He never was the same golfer after the personal scandal. It just took a few years for other golfers to overtake his ranking.
Dan S Lewin I'd say 2013 he was the same as 2008 and prior. 5 wins including the Players, plus POY. And that was with Foley lol. If he's healthy he wins the API and maybe the Master's this year.
In some ways I agree, in 2013 he wasn't as long which is why he still couldn't get over hump and win a major imo.he hasn't been this long off the tee in the last 10 years which translates into shorter approaches and towering iron shots. I think this is because he has his hands steeper in the back swing now where as in 2013 his hands were laid off slightly. So now he's using gravity to his advantage much like Rory does. If he keeps it up and figures the short game out watch out.
Three rounds in the 60's and nobody shot in the 60s on Saturday. All after not playing for 9 months. No one else on the planet could do that.
You make it seem like he did not pick up a club for 9 months. He was probably on range as soon he could be practicing.

Mike..why pissed off? This is excellent for golf. Not a pro in the world who is not on their knees every night praying for Tiger to do well. Millions, who would otherwise do something else, are going to tune in when tiger is in the field, let alone in contention. This is extra $ for golf and more golf in TV for all of us... so no reason to be pissed off :)

I was always a believer in Tiger...but after his last operation I had my doubts that he could come back...this week was soooo impressive!

Sure Fowler had a fantastic final round...but we're talking about Tiger because he's in a class of his own among active golfers...simple.....and by that I mean what he has achieved...not the level at which he is currently playing.

Why his strike sound so much different than the other players
Because he's not as good as the other players anymore.

Because he flushes contact more often with power. He probably hits the club center face or within 3mm of center face 95 percent of the time. HE also uses older irons and is slow to use new composite technologies and metalwoods. I think that Nike piece of shit driver was messing him up.

i came at 2023, right after the end of hero world challenge 2023, that tiger came back from ankle fusion surgery. he had almost lost his leg by the serious car accident but surgery was succesful and now he is getting over his injuries

The Hero is not the measure of a comeback. It's his home course and a small field consisting of many golfers who have not played competitively in weeks. He did well at this event last year. If he can hold up on the regular tour for more than 3 events then we can begin to talk about a comeback.
If you call 76 on the last day and coming pretty much last "doing well". Also, it's not his home course. And the small field you downplayed consists of virtually all the current best players in the world.
Other than that you were spot on.
I agree with your assessment of his performance but I think I was spot on across the board. It is his home course. Tiger owns a home near the golf course. Granted he owns more than one home, but that would definitely qualify as a home course. Also, even the best players in the world get rusty during the down season. This is normally when folks take time off, but an invite from Tiger and no cut brings them out.

He does not live there, he lives in Florida. It is not his home course. Or are you seriously suggesting that owning a house near a golf course makes it your home course, and not the fact you play it regularly.
Here again, I'm just saying that NBC over hypes his performance in Hero. They did the same thing last year. I am talking about rust. Tiger knows the course like the back of his hand, he's played it more than anyone else in the field, he's literally at home. He's going to look reasonably good. The measure of his comeback will be whether he can stay healthy and be competitive in large field events. Last time he lasted about 3 weeks. I'm saying let's keep expectations in check until something warrants otherwise.

Tiger is a great player but he doesn’t seem to enjoy the game. Where are the smiles? He needs to learn to enjoy those perfect drives. He needs to learn how to love the game, not just master the game....
This smiles will come back when he starts winning and that will be within the next twelve months.
