@@saywhatyouwantidontcare sorry buddy but you misunderstood my whole comment.
What I was questioning was not if Polish people are beautiful, but the phrasing “beautiful place with beautiful people”.
Have you ever heard anyone say that any place, be it Poland, China or any place for that matter, is beautiful but people are ugly? It’s kind of weird in general to say that people are beautiful. what does it even mean? that they are generous and hospitable? point a place where people aren’t like that..
So no need to be apologetic and make a whole essay about it. You coulda just said that my point of view is subjective.
      Cheers

Do they have good types of breads and cheeses?

    • @j_bailey11
      @j_bailey11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@paulheydarian1281 hardly any. There are some English and French, many Swiss, also most of Italian popular types available in the grocery stores. However most popular cheese types are the rather bland and unimpressive like Gouda, Emmentaler, Edam. Like I said there’s always a variety of imported types, Italian/French but they are on the expensive side. From what I’m seeing cheddar is finally slowly gaining popularity but it’s still a bit pricey.
As for traditional polish cheese making there are Oscypek and Rolada, coming from southern Poland, both are preserved by smoking, so they give off a distinct aroma that not everyone likes, not to mention they are made of sheep/goat milk so they are already a bit funky.. There are also Bryndza and Cottage cheese. The latter one is a little different from the way it’s known in the west, say UK where I’ve seen it sold as a runny mixture of bigger and smaller lumps. In Poland cottage cheese comes in solidified in cubes/ blocks, and firm enough so that you can slice it and put it on bread.

I find it remarkable that Poland and Warsaw have been virtually nonexistent in Western and global conscience, discourse and even popculture up to this day and I'm not sure whether it's a result of bad historical luck or intentional effort to prevent Poland from having any significance in economy, politics or culture. Seen my fair share of European cities- Berlin, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Barcelona, and many others- but nothing feels quite like home, like Warsaw.
It's remarkably clean (especially compared to Rome or Paris), it's one of the safest cities in Europe, and it has an amazing diversity of restaurants, clubs, etc.
If there is a cuisine there's probably a restaurant in Warsaw serving it, which so far I've only really experienced in NYC.
You have the obvious like Italian, Japanese, Thai or Middle Eastern (Kebab and such), but also Greek, Vietnamese, Indian, Balkan, Spanish, Mexican, Jewish, West African, Caribbean...
You have Halal options, you have Kosher options, every restaurant has a vegetarian option and you can't walk five blocks and not see a vegan restaurant.

The Invisible Exhibition was one of the most memorable things I ever attended in my entire life. I went there on a school trip, back in 2013 or 2014, and it's one of the only things I remember still from that time. I was a tiny kid, I rarely found myself in Śródmieście, it was an exciting journey. Despite the whole exhibition being quite literally just in the dark, I remember it so vividly I could swear they turned on the lights for us. The guide lady explained how she, as a blind person, got around the world, how she could tell what color was the car we bumped into along the way, in the visible part there was a computer with a narrator for the keyboard. It was amazing, and if you ever get a chance to visit it, DO IT. It's been almost a decade, and I am still delighted from the trip.
Also, this is the first time I learned where the damn exhibition was, I never realised that the building was called Atlas Tower, I just remember thinking that it looked like the Axiom ship from Wall-E.

The Atlas tower is probably most famous in Warsaw (at least among the locals) for the panorama bar at the top called Level 27 which wasn't mentioned, and a few of the shots from the Centrum Lim building were not from that building, but from Zloty Tarasy which is a mall in the area (it's like a 4-5 minute walk away), but it is not the same building. But other than that I'd say everything else was accurate and informative, good job!!!

Lol 3:05 is an ending scene from a BNT’s (Banott) video on which he documented himself climbing that building with no ropes, or any security whatsoever. He is the most famous Polish urban climber. His videos are definitely worth watching!!

You have done a increadable reaserch about the Palace of Culture and Sience. as a person that lives in this city all life i can tell that most of the people that live there don't know all of the history behind it and why is it hated. It is probably the first time i have seen someone include so much true facts about this building on youtube. Great job keep it up :)

Warsaw has had an amazing recovery from the horrific 20th century, and they have a good mix of old and new buildings. I think skyscrapers though are pretty un-European looking however.

This is a great city with fantastic and drastic history. It’s a real phoenix reborn from ashes. Literally Germans tried to erase the city from the world maps in 1944. Maybe the history is of the reasons it is not widely presented on the global scene. All my international friends who visited Warsaw were amazed by culture people and food. Come to see it and let’s make some business together :)

For me, as a native of Warsaw, this comment is funny :)
Many, maybe even the majority of residents, especially those born in Warsaw (there is a minority of them; a city in Poland has a reputation as mostly inhabited by newcomers whom they call - both the more chauvinistic native Varsovians and people from other cities who do not like Varsovians - as a "jars "- from food brought by students, after visiting their parents, in their hometown; you can also hear opinions as "real Varsovians died in [Warsaw] Uprising" or that "real Warsaw was [exist] before War"), consider this building to be the worst ugly building and from time to time the idea of demolishing it returns in public discussion.

I wasn't ever in Warsaw, but i want to go there. Sometimes. And enjoy those high-rise buildings. Here in Prague we are really bad in the terms of skyscrapers. And UNESCO doesn't want any new building to be higher than 66 meters... kinda sad. And even Bratislava is faaar ahead.

Not to be that guy , yes Warsaw has 27 tall buildings above 100 metres / 328 feet , however only 13 of them are actually skyscrapers .
Skyscrapers are termed as such by reaching or exceeding a height of 150 metres / 492 feet .
The first 2 buildings you showed in this are not technically skyscrapers .
