Because I say despite the weather (despite + noun) but I say despite the fact that the weather was bad (subject + verb). Does that answer your question?

Why did you use despite the fact that followed by subject+verb (3:13) ?
Because I say despite the weather (despite + noun) but I say despite the fact that the weather was bad (subject + verb). Does that answer your question?
