the first upgrade u must do on all scx 24s when you can is lowering the centre of gravity, most preferably by installing brass parts and replacing parts with brass like the suspension linkage which also adds durability.
I like where they are putting the cost, body and shocks. For the price the electronics being throw-away isn't a deal breaker for me. Beautiful body on this thing.

I love my scx24 collection, spent a fortune on improving them and building them , this new truck is a gladiator with a new body , same crappy servo motor and sloppy steering links , your going to buy it and take it apart order a ton of upgrades for it , so build a truck from the parts you know work and buy the body , that's how I would go , why buy the stock truck to end up with half of it in the parts bin the next day , the furitek fury wagon is a better deal for not much more money , save up and wise up , that's my opinion, build don't buy , stay safe everyone and enjoy your RC .

@2fmrc Thanks, mate, I think most of us now build what we want , it's the new comers to the hobby that will go nuts for this truck , yes it looks great but that's it , it will fall over ever obstacle in there living room and very soon be put back in the box for ever or spend a fortune on making it work as good as it looks , we need more videos for new comers showing step by step how to build a fantastic truck and not waste money , my parts bin has cost a fortune to build up but it does not drive lol , stay safe mate .

That's a cool little machine. I wish they sold it without the radio because I have a couple of Spektrum transmitters and an extra receiver I could put into it. My previous RC car experience has always been with fast nitro cars. I started in the 80's with 1/8 scale on road racing. Cars that went up to 70 mph. I was out of it for a few years and then returned in 1/10 off road racing, also nitro cars. My on road car was a Serpent Excel, my off road car was a Losi XXX-NT. I still have the Losi.
Thanks for the review, it was very interestig. From my point of view it is not enough. Axial should have done a FCX24 / TRX4M mix: Oil shocks according to Traxxas and the electronics (including the servo) and 2 speed gear box like FMS.
I’m patiently waiting for my Furitek fx118 to arrive at my doorstep. 179.99 all in OTD. Why would anyone want this when your going to replace half the rig? Sure this body is more scale and purdy but at least the fury wagons’s lighter and not top heavy. Depends what you really want it for I guess, to each his own.
Love the fact they've finally added oil-filled shocks. I hope Axial will sell the set of oil-filled shocks separately so you can put them on the other SCX24s.
You can already buy metal ProLine oil shocks for the 24. Haven't seen these unthreaded plastics yet.
Amazon, rc planet, amain hobbies, tower hobbies, lots of places that sell the shocks you want.
This looks awesome, but if performance is your concern the weight of the plastic body puts even more stress on the already overworked stock motor and steering servo. Unless scale looks are your priority the Furitek FX118 for only $40 more seems like a much better value to me.

I love my SCX24 Deadbolt at the $100 sale price I paid for it, but I'd have a tough time spending $150+ on the Gladiator, Bronco, or Power Wagon. I have a FX118 on order so I'm looking forward to seeing what that has to offer when it shows up!
@@gtb75 yeah the FX118 is the way to go. It’s unreal for $199. A good set of wheels/tires and a couple free mods and mine runs some killer lines!
Is the fcx18 an 18th scale?
@@propphotographyaz9992 it’s technically called 1/18 but it’s like the Trx4m. It kinda fits what we usually build our 1/24s to be.

It definitely has an on/off switch for a throttle. Same ol junk electronics. Rather see something changed there than the upgrades they gave us. Even a v2 esc was 10x better than these spektrum systems they are pushing. It’s probably better than their brushless system even 😆 At least they didn’t really raise the price. With the brushless Furitek coming in at $199 they’d never sell these if they raised that price any imo
You don't have to buy it, axial will be just fine without your support.

Same shit motor and servo. If you like to drive a lot, don't get axial scx24. After going through 20 motors 7 servos, I switch to a real rc truck. Fms FCX24. 100% better
Nailed it! With the new brushless Furitek being $40 more it’s a no brainer imo. I ordered this to give my thoughts on it but if it wasn’t for wanting to do some vids on it I wouldn’t even consider it.
Right! I still prefer fms FCX24 line. I can't get over the two speed transmission. I do like furitek though. I have the ultimate esc and new cedar in my max smasher.
For the price of 20 stock motors u could've gotten a brushless system 🤣

A shame these rcs didnt have a swivel frame like a few of the older power wagons use to have. Probably solve the rolling problem if they added that.

Scx24’s look better, but the fms fcx24 has way better electronics and a two speed transmission

Absolutely. I own both and when it comes to controlled performance I'll go for the scx anytime. My FMS has a lot of slop in the drivetrain, so it rolls forward or rearward when you absolutely don't want it.
The bigger size, the 2 speed and portals of the FMS helps it though when going outdoors.
@rofufoja I have 3 fms and they all roll, setting drag brake to 100% helps. It's the portals that give the slop. Or atleast that's what I've been told. This longer wheelbase chassis on this like the gladiator will be good. I am excited for this one. Those proline swampers are great tires.
What about the furitek.. does that the slop , I only own sxcs

What’s with the 24th scale trail trucks? Who’s trailing with these!? People want crawlers! A 24th Capra, wraith or maybe even a Ryft would be cool! I’d love to see a Toyota with a roll cage and a doved bed. Something that you can take to a small area and crawl with. Leave the trail trucks bodies to 1/10.

They have released the scx24 in many different bodies, what exactly are you hoping for.

Best for what ? For a capable scale looking toy car. Yes but no update to the existing SCX24s other than you like that certain body. Will be hard to sell with the new furitek available with brushless motor and much more quality at almost the same price.

Still with that crappy little motor though. Any kind of extra weight upgrade and it burns out right away. Think they’d upgrade that junk one day
So basically they just released a new gladiator with oil filled shocks lol axial has dropped the ball… their scx10 pro is about the only good thing coming from them. Might as well just buy the body and skip the shocks. Injoras oil filled shocks will be cheaper and work better 😅
I'm done with Horizon Hobby products. I wish they would sell all the RTRs in builders' kits like they all were in the 70s 80s 90s. Tamiya and Kyosho still do it which is awesome. Horizon Hobby is even getting rid of all of the rollers and going to sell only RTRs which is lame. They want to force us to use Spektrum electronics which are rebranded BS that locks you out of programming even though a majority of them are Hobbywing Rebrands and other Chinese rebrands with Spektrum stickers on them. Horizon Hobby buying out so many companies is ruining the hobby. They are bullies in the industry. Their customer service isn't even good anymore. Such a shame. Still haven't received my Losi Promoto MX that I ordered on June 22nd. Always a new excuse and never respond with ETAs. That made my opinion of them even worse. They are Bullies with Traxxas going down the same route. 10000000s of people feel the same way. Even the younger generation is tired of RTRs and wants something to build and be able to choose what goes in it. Now I wait for their products to come out as sliders on eBay by an eBay Sttore that strips out all the electronics, wheels, body, and tires from vehicles to sell separately. Kinda like JennyRc but, they sell rollers and sliders of all the Arrma, Losi, Axial, and Traxxas vehicles. You can then pick your tires electronics, and body not being stuck with stuff you planned on replacing anyway. Sorry for the Rant on your channel, I'm just done with the elites.

I hate that body. Do a Grave Digger, but other than that I don't like older trucks.
Not bad but i want to see a proper scx18 thought. Nobody i know still uses or own an scx24.. we all switched to 18th scale and won't go back.

Plenty of people will buy this no doubt. But anyone who goes full scale build mode will pretty much make it a 1/18 scale rig so I think it would have just made more sense to make it a 1/18th from the start.
