Wow...one word...speachless! I've always LOVED Linda...I played her hits on piano in restaurants from age 10 through college, sang her harmony enriched hits with friends a cappella style for years...but this, THIS concert brings EVERY facet Linda Ronstadt brings to that brilliant diamond she so creatively built over the years of her reining as the Queen of...the Queen of...EVERYTHING upon which she laid those beautiful vocal tones that emulated from her very soul...I'm simply speachless after sitting, watching and listening to every amazing note she sang...so diverse, just simply AMAZING! Linda, if you read this, PLEASE know, and I hope I'm speaking for everyone that knows what gift you gave to the ears of the world during your rein -- Linda, please don't feel that you let anyone down because some uncontrolled condition prevented you from singing any longer once you decided it was just too much...by that time, you had already given us all the most wonderful gift any artist such as yourself could possibly give. The years of travelling with you along your vocal journey is a gift none of us could possibly provide you the proper "Thank you" that you SO deserve! You're amazing, you're wonderful, you're beautiful...you lift the life in us all to a height from which we could never descend, because we don't want to...you've lifted us up so much with every note you sang. We LOVE YOU, LINDA!

Ditto! I listen to this concert at least twice a day, oh my God! She simply rules the entire planet on this concert in my humble opinion. Every song is just impeccable, her voice, the words, her emotions shining through her voice, the instruments, just turn me into a pile of mush , speechless with lumps in my throat and tears in my eyes. God broke the mold when HE made Linda. I love you too Linda , thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A lot of us fell in love with her before we knew what she looked like. Back in the 60's, all you knew was what the artists sounded like, because all we had was radio. Unless the artist made it really big, they never got on TV. MAYBE you would see a picture if you purchased an album, but most of us could only afford 45's which didn't have pictures, just plain paper sleeves to keep the record in.

lalique512 You may have only seen Ms. Ronstadt once, but I think you picked one of the absolutely best concerts to experience her celestial gifts. The set list is the perfect mix of our favorites and hers and seemed to go on forever; the musicians and other singers were top-notch and she was at the pinnacle of her vocal powers...and I'd like to think she was also very contented personally. Her vocal toolkit was fully equipped, she had adoration from a wildly appreciative audience like yours and from two sweet innocent children waiting for her at home-that's about as good as it gets!
She's singing "Feels Like Home" as I finish up here. Her voice is kind of a home for her admirers-a place to retreat when we need familiarity and comfort. We, humans, are tribal by nature for better or worse. Artists like Ms. Ronstadt and the pleasure they give us, remind us that there is really only one tribe to which we all belong: the human one that seeks only to love and be loved. So glad you were there, lalique, for this Linda Ronstadt lovefest!

      Lorraine Liberti
It was an experience, Lorraine that I will not forget for a “Long, Long Time”...
When I was watching the Kennedy Centre Honours and the camera zoomed in on her and her eyes welled up when her lifelong friend, Emmylou came out to pay tribute to her, I was in tears myself. It was a rather emotional scene for me and I couldn’t help but think back to that Boston Concert and how vibrant and full of life she was that entire evening filling the theatre with her distinguished voice and soaring through the skies.
I am to say the least, utterly heartbroken for what fate had given her - it just isn’t fair for someone like her who has so much to give to the world and who enjoys doing it.

    • @lnl3237
      @lnl3237 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@lalique512 That intimate moment shared between "Emmylou and Linda" at the Kennedy Center was excruciatingly beautiful. I wept as well. These two have travelled quite the road together-literally and figuratively. Your rage and grief for what has befallen Ms. Ronstadt is utterly understandable. Take heart that she is not bitter nor is she asking, "Why me?"
In early January, the AARP Movie Awards for Grownups were broadcast on PBS, and I was overjoyed to see that Ms. Ronstadt was there to accept the award for best documentary. It was poignant that the presenter was Maria Muldaur. After a sustained ovation, she spoke. She said the people of her generation did not expect to live to be old; the drug crisis, Vietnam, and the AIDS epidemic took a toll. Ever the wit, she continued that she was happy to "to be a grownup" and graciously accepted the award. I said my good-byes to her that night, as it is not likely that she will appear publicly again. I so appreciate the herculean effort she made to attend the ones she did-the travel could not have been easy.
I love the song "Too Old to Die Young" from her "Adieu False Heart" album with Ann Savoy. It resonates with a 60-something like me. I bet it resonates for Ms. Ronstadt as well. I do think the outpouring of admiration, affection, and attention she has received in recent years has touched her. We were grateful bystanders to her simple dream.
Keep your tender heart, lalique, keep your health, and keep listening to that voice! Hope to see you pop up on other posts!

Never content to live her life as a former pinup gal. A musician's musician - extraordinary vocalist. The tone of her voice has always been gorgeous - her power and control here is staggering.

Lorraine S She was an extraordinary musician and remains a fascinating figure in popular music. But Zane's comment is not condescending it is on the money. Linda was our pin-up and much much more. I think you misread the compliment. Whatever this performance is killer.

I saw this tour in Cleveland. I’m thrilled someone posted this show. She was an amazing singer. Not too many can belt one like her. I’ll always remember the all star band she toured with. Russ Kunkle on drums, Bob Glaub on bass , Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar, Andrew Gold on piano just to name a few. What a show

If you never heard Linda in concert you missed something mesmerizing and truly unforgettable. Most skilled and dynamic live singer ever. She was better in concert than on record. She was energized by audiences. She's actually on the decline here. Her voice was purest and most powerful in the seventies and eighties IMO.

I guess I have lived under a rock all my life! I've known the name all of my life but not being a music buff I never gave her any thought. I stumbled across her on youtube and I will say without hesitation, Linda Ronstadt is the BEST female voice of our time, any time! She is the female Elvis. I hope that is a compliment to her, it is high praise in my humble opinion. I've been binge watching since I found her. Such a gift, a God given gift! I pray she will see that God can heal if she will trust and believe. She can get this gift back!!! God heals today! What a testimony for her to come back and give God the glory for it!

One just a few years later with Emmylou is pretty close, it was recorded on their last stop promoting their Western Wall , the Tucson Sessions CD, in Austin on Oct.10, 1999. It is fan recorded but awesome! th-cam.com/video/l3Dy7-wSZ2Q/w-d-xo.html

I've been madly, MADLY in love with this angel and her music for over 4 decades. Unfortunately, I've only had the privilege of seeing her live only twice. I'd take a bullet for this beautiful woman, and wish the '70's and '80's were perpetually cyclical. May the God(s) keep and protect you forever. I would give anything to be there with you. 😢🤗👏👏👏👏💓💓💓💓💓☮

Believe me, I get very emotional when one of my favorite singer falls ill. Imagine this. Its like losing the best part of yourself to something else. I just have to come to see all of Linda's video to help calm myself down. I also lost my mom from end stage dementia in 2017, so I come to see all of my favorite singers' videos as a coping mechanism. She and my dad both loved Linda Ronstadt,, along with many others who have passed, or who are still singing( though managing). I also know that Linda Ronstadt has this amazing ability to adapt to whatever challenges that comes in her way. She's a huge inspiration to many including her devoted and loyal fans. We are still so lucky to have this wonderful singer and she will be sadly missed by many.

I've never seen her sing live when she didn't continually fuss with the microphone stand. She's a known perfectionist so I always wonder if she feels like it's not in the correct position to best capture her vocals or if it's just a nervous habit like twirling your hair.
