LOL, kid was right. With the negative disconnected it will not short the battery if you go positive to the frame. It does absolutely matter if the negative is connected or not. The whole reason why you connect the positive before the negative, so if you do touch the frame when connecting the positive with negative disconnected nothing at all will happen. Thought you were joking, but you seemed dead serious. lol
How do you and everyone in your shop not have all the various Cat keys on your keyrings at all times?
Certain cat machinery keys are universal to other models are cats there's only about I think of total with 10 possibly maybe 20 keys I may be wrong and I'm sure someone will correct me
I have 1 cat key... its ran literally everything ive tried. They are all thr same

You guys gave it a hell of a try! With so much electrical stuff missing I was surprised you got the engine to do anything. It is never a failure if you are learning and experimenting which is what you were doing.

You need pickup lot time for this.i got case like this with fluor at richie bros auction just nightmare due was not proper wiring and mess around dash.rebuild pete from front and back.the forklift just take time with service book cat.i know work with ecm and the rest nightmare but today world new equipment you can go around.thank video😊
Ya I was still here. Start the Pete. Put the Pete back on the Road. Or Diesel Drag’r. Went to find Pacific Northwest fishing. Took me to an Amazon store. Keep tinkering. Show how/Why you picked the wires you did to get it that far. Bring back the Cat Tele handler. Most useful tool on every job site.

You probably already know about sending a youngster for a short weight, long weight, sky hooks, widget springs or my favourite is to send him to the lunch truck and ask for a leg of liver sandwich.
