Really enjoying your channel, entertaining, informative and inspiring! Hope to get up to Flag from the Valley and drop in, maybe do a workshop someday. Keep it up, hope you get a ton more subscribers. Tyler Shields stuff is awesome, both his work and your portraits
Based on the video, I like the darker version of the Tyler Shields portrait. There seems to still be a good amount of detail in the shadows. I really enjoyed seeing your printing process in the previous video and your assessment of them in this one. And thank you for your comments about my prints. The film on the 8x10 shots was Arista EDU 200 (Fomapan 200). Most were stand developed in Rodinal 1:100 for an hour which works pretty well for shots with very high dynamic range (the shot of the water tank through the trees in particular.) The first print of the rock worked better from a conventionally developed negative for platinum/palladium, but if I print it on silver gelatin, I’ll use the stand developed negative. The first 4 images were shot in Placerita Canyon near Santa Clarita CA or Griffith Park in LA. The last image of the concrete structure is under the 134 freeway at the Arroyo Seco in Pasadena, CA. It was shot on Ilford FP4 and developed conventionally in Rodinal 1:50.
Thanks for sharing the videos! It's great to get a little extra inspiration. Contrast is definitely a stressful part of photography for me; why can't I pick out where I do and don't want contrast, or can I? Going to be a lifelong adventure for sure.

It’s the darker image for me
I prefer the darker image.
Darker
There are some great prints in this video. I have a question, but I’ll put it on the discord, where we do things like that.
Darker one looks better on TH-cam, but the lighter one is better person, seems blown out here, but it’s not
