I really want to start parkour but my problems are 1. I'm 13 2. I'm a girl 3. I don't know if any of my friends are interested in it 4. I'd be too embarrassed to go to a park and practise by myself
+Samasaurus Im as your age dude! And i also started parkour even if im a girl. And also, i don't care if my friends are interested in it or not, if i want to do it then i do it. Don't be too embarrassed to go to the park and practice by yourself, cause i usually do that too :I.
I got this move perfectly today. I can never thank you enough Jesse. Its a great tutorial. This is so detailed that I didn't need to watch any other tutorial. Thank you Jesse for this. I'm very grateful. YOU ARE THE BEST TEACHER AND YOUR TUTORIALS ARE THE BEST!
I have a question, So I've been practising this and so on. But whenever I try to do the real full thing fear beats comes into my head that I wont raise my leg high enough or something like that, Like an accident will happen, Any idea on how to stop thinking about it?
Think of when you were learning to ride a bike, and think that you can do it, anyone your height and weight can do it, and maybe start out with a smaller and shorter object to vault, and then move on to bigger ones
happen to me and felt on my back many times, it really heart, listen just dont think you are heavy, you can jump like all the others and you wont believe that you did it
Oh, and I found these vids after I saw you on television here in Finland, the American Ninja Warrior. Fun cool show, just on Tv here now ☺ So greetings from Finland, keep up the nice work! 👌
Well, it is ranked as a more difficult vault only. Maybe you are just really talented and sensitive towards this. (If that is what you're hinting) But generally, conquering fear is one big part of this vault so.
That would be a woman playing tennis! Have you ever seen women play tennis? They are good but when you close ur eyes... "UGHHH SCREAM SHOUT UGH UGHHHGHHHHHH AAAGHHAUGHHH GRAUUGHAGAHHHHH SCREAAAAMSCREECH!!!!!!" Hahahaha i have nothing against women at all but they are funny when they play tennis, not all women do it but most professional women tennis players do hahaha
Jesse, Im really scared to attempt this because I'm not sure if I can jump onto the obstacle, and there aren't many walls low enough for me to jump on ):
Paul Fish i might have a small solution for you guys. I assume that you all have beds. Just stack up a few pillows. make them as high as you want( usually about waist height) than do the vault over it. at worst case scenario you'll end up face planting the bed which is not as bad as face planting concrete. hope this helps! :)
omg man i love this, i cant do any wall splean or palm speen but i just learnt this trick and its changed my life, how can i ever repay you for your time and effort. i hope we meet but i know what you live! stay safe my friend lol
I don't know why, when I see you do it I feel confident but when I do it I'm like scared, and that leads to me not able to complete it. Please help me :(
***** I gave up because I wasn't confident enough. Better learn the safety vault before. The dash vault is dangerous. Try the speed vault instead. Learning parkour is getting to overcome obstacles easily, not aesthetically. Unless you're into freerunning. Good luck. Try your best! :)
there are 2 main aspects to stop being scared of vaults .1 ) u should physically b capable of doing the vault. a skinny, weak guy may not be able to do the same stuff a buff guy can. 2) u can get over mental blocks by doing progressions start slow and low and build up to a harder, higher object. Also, sometime u just need to go for it and give it your 100%. it can help having a person to stand on the other side and maybe catch you to stop u from face planting if u fail. Hope this helped. :D pls do check out my channel. u may like what u see there...
Thank you Jessie. You inspired me to do parkour. Not a day goes by when I'm not thinking of new things to try, and what I want to accomplish at free running. :)
I don’t really live in the city but still, I love parkour and plus I find places to do it. I have a parkour squad at school lol. We are always vaulting picknic tables in the playground
Jess, it's not okay if you bend one leg inward when you do it right? It's almost like you're criss-crossing with one leg Also, your dominant foot should be leading so you can stride out correct?
can we use just one leg to take off in first half and that same leg for landing in the other half? because you have used the left leg to take off and right for landing. and please suggest that is it good practice by using a same leg?
It really took me a while to do this. I would suggest jumping over the whole obstacle first, and once you've finished that, then jump over it with one hand, then try again with two hands.
I tried to do it, but when I ran and jumped, my first leg (right) jumped the wall, but my second leg (left) hit the wall, how to make my left leg doesn't hit the wall when I jump? And how to make my jump higher than before? Thanks (subscribed)
like everyone says even Jesse parkour is about progression. i would suggest jumping over low walls you know you can clear and slowly progress to higher objects. the best place to do this is a gym or even a park with grass or sand. i had the same fear until i realized i could do more then i gave myself credit for. the point is you never know what you can do if you never try and eventually you will get better.
Thanks Jesse I watch I'll your tutorials, for I'm only 12 an I love to parkour, I think I watch your bar spin or something and I'm watching this, and I've seen other moves but I don't remember..so yeah thanks :) but I need help with my frontflips and backflips
Are there any moves for people who are less physically able? I was on lithium carbonate combined with Depakote that had me in a walker and almost in a wheelchair. I'm now using lithium aspartate and off of Depakote, and have fibromyalgia that I'm recovering from, and I'm using a cane. As I get my Mobility back, parkour and freerunning thrill and inspire me, and I think I can do the sitting on the wall and jumping off part, but I'm not up to as much beyond that yet. Is there a physical training for people recovering that has incorporated part of Parkour or Freerunning, to make recoveries thrilling? Because I think that would make people able to do more, and at least I want to try.
What vault would be best for something really high, like around neck high? I came up with one and use it to get over all kinds of fences, but I was wondering if there was a fast way to do it.
I find that underbars help some. Jumping over a reasonably sized object into the underbar can help get the foot movement down, because your feet leave the ground split-step, go in front of you, then kick out and land split-step.
I've got carpal tunnel, so that's why I'm a bit surprised this is the first video I've seen that mentions wrists. I can't remember the last time I've warmed them up. Thanks for the insight, though.
Keep your mental game in check. Make yourself a goal. Mine would be, "Try to touch the wall on the other side of this railing". In order to do that, you have got to meet that goal by commiting to your vault. By thinking of the success, and not the "what if", you will have maintained a better control of your fear. Good luck to you.
how do you overcome injuries? i jumped from a ledge to a wall which i slipped on and scraped my arm and dented my shin. how do you keep motivated when u get hurt?
follow me on instagram: @jesselaflair
LaFlairParkour k I will
I'm still scared of clipping my feet
I really want to start parkour but my problems are

+Samasaurus check out Luci Romburg she is my teammate and a badass. Trust me it is very fun and screw what other people think...
+Samasaurus Same. I hate it.
+Samasaurus Im as your age dude! And i also started parkour even if im a girl. And also, i don't care if my friends are interested in it or not, if i want to do it then i do it. Don't be too embarrassed to go to the park and practice by yourself, cause i usually do that too :I.
oh... i live in asia, in the philippines. i don't think you can go there
Whoah! thats cool man! But i train in the lake park so its no biggie.

you won't stop thinking of that until you did it it's a natural thing
Just keep Saying that you can Do it and that it's easy!!! (y)
Hey - so did you ever get it yet?
Think of when you were learning to ride a bike, and think that you can do it, anyone your height and weight can do it, and maybe start out with a smaller and shorter object to vault, and then move on to bigger ones
happen to me and felt on my back many times, it really heart, listen just dont think you are heavy, you can jump like all the others and you wont believe that you did it
Hello from spain, i have 30 years old and i love parkour, you are my best teacher! Thank you so much for your classes
Never tried parkour yet, but watching your videos really makes me want to give it a shot ☺
Oh, and I found these vids after I saw you on television here in Finland, the American Ninja Warrior. Fun cool show, just on Tv here now ☺

he has the shoooooezz
Whay are THOOOOOOOOOSEEEE :V
If you don't mention that i'll never notice
Thought this was a really good tutorial. Breaking it up into ways to getting comfortable with the various parts are great
this is actually a more difficult vault to do in parkour. So yea, should be for starters, but not beginners
PulselessVampire It's easy I just started like about a week ago I just learned the normal vaults and I can do it.
Well, it is ranked as a more difficult vault only. Maybe you are just really talented and sensitive towards this. (If that is what you're hinting) But generally, conquering fear is one big part of this vault so.
PulselessVampire Well I learned it with the arm of a couch so that I wouldn't be hurt as bad.
i had to learn it on a table at school because hong kong. So yea, theres that. Happy Parkouring!
+PulselessVampire That's kinda strange because I started just about 5 weeks ago and when I first learned vaults the dash was pretty easy
Seen u on ninja!
7:14 - The sound of someone getting murdered in the background.
That would be a woman playing tennis! Have you ever seen women play tennis? They are good but when you close ur eyes... Thanks!! You explain it a lot better than most of other people that try
Jesse, Im really scared to attempt this because I'm not sure if I can jump onto the obstacle, and there aren't many walls low enough for me to jump on ):
Paul Fish same :(
Paul Fish same :(

To this vault requires have to strong legs, otherwise is useless. More practical is speed vault or one/two handed vault.
Raymond Vera why
Raymond Vera ikr xD
No
Yay actual tutorials that I can follow and aren't too confusing
I don't know why, when I see you do it I feel confident but when I do it I'm like scared, and that leads to me not able to complete it. Please help me :(
It's been a long time from since you asked this, and I have the same problem. Have you found a solution :(?
***** I gave up because I wasn't confident enough. Better learn the safety vault before. The dash vault is dangerous. Try the speed vault instead. Learning parkour is getting to overcome obstacles easily, not aesthetically. Unless you're into freerunning. Good luck. Try your best! :)

All the best! :)

This guy is a big help for all his vids.
I find the dash volt one of the hardest volts to master :/
Vault
The dash is something I had to learn how to completely jump an obstacle before accomplishing.
Randy Rambo dash to me is actually easy I just can't get a Kong😛
They are super easy man I'll be doing a tutorial on mah channel tomorrow
Nooo it is soooooo simple just try to jump ,like he told , and sit on obstacle but instead of sitting push with your hands
even though i don't always learn i still appreciate how much you put tought
in each video
I tried it and i triped my legs and almost got faceplanted
Calvin Wong The object was too high for you, or you didn't jump correctly.
He is the best parkour "teacher" ever !! thanks for helping
I saw you on American ninja warrior
I guess so
he have been on there for a lot of years
Yes
Mathew Hannam Uhm... Did you mean has?
Jake Aasen NINJA GO
Thank you Jessie. You inspired me to do parkour. Not a day goes by when I'm not thinking of new things to try, and what I want to accomplish at free running. :)
So, you have to jump over the obstacle, like a rainbow, when you do a dash vault? So you have to do a Rainbow Dash vault? XD
Get out.
guys stop the hate but seriously blackstudio there is a time and a place for everything this is not one of those times
What's wrong with his joke? It is funny. Made me chuckle.
This is really a great tutorial! I just started practicing and this helps me a lot! Thank you very much!
excellent videos, i am mexican, and i have 13 years old these tutorials gave to me a new vision of how go do parkour, thanks :)
I have never seen this vault until now. I thank you.
Jesse you are awesome... we have learnt many things with you, thank you :D
Thank you. That really helped. This tutorial was very comprehensive.
Great tutorial, as always. Very clearly explained, with good progression steps if you don't have the balls to try it straight out.
Hey jesse, i know you hate these questions, but ive already started like you said. Is it better to be really buff for parkour, or lighter/skinnier?
This is great. Love Ronnie but your instructionals are much better.
Thanks to this video I can actually do this! It looked insane but I actually did it!
If you didn't have blur in the slow motion it would be a lot better, but it is still awesome! also, do you have a bar swing or a bar backflip?
ur sick jesse u've helped me over come me fears and now I can run up big walls all thx 2 u
best tutorial i have ever watched
This one was fairly easy for me. And fun!

How do you know that they are warmed up enough??
-thanks in advance
Thanks man im really into parkour so this helps alot!
hey jessie! Can you make a vid on what kind of workout you should do for parkour so its easier????? PLEEEZZ!!!!!!!!!
im a beginner in parkour so this vault really helped thanks
Jess, it's not okay if you bend one leg inward when you do it right? It's almost like you're criss-crossing with one leg
Also, your dominant foot should be leading so you can stride out correct?
Hey I've got something , do you know a good workout to do before parkour? I've been learning and I am not strong enough for some of the moves
can we use just one leg to take off in first half and that same leg for landing in the other half?
because you have used the left leg to take off and right for landing.
and please suggest that is it good practice by using a same leg?
hey i am just getting started on parkour and i'm 13 do you think you could give me some advice on how to get started and what to learn :)
THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH, THANK YOU

First video I watched I supscibed this it just what I'm looking for and thanks
You explain the best men! Thanks
glad it helped, you can also try other movements or flips to.
It really took me a while to do this. I would suggest jumping over the whole obstacle first, and once you've finished that, then jump over it with one hand, then try again with two hands.
This tutorial really helped I can finally dash vault
So I live in a small town and we don't really have much in the way of big walls to work with and not parkour gym, any thoughts?

Flips and spins are actually helpful. Amos Rendao made a good argument for it in his video "Ukemi: The Art of Falling".
What vault would be best for something really high, like around neck high? I came up with one and use it to get over all kinds of fences, but I was wondering if there was a fast way to do it.

BEST PARKOUR GUY EVER! :)
Is there any technique to make the second leg (your left leg) rise up without hitting the obstacle?
Very helpful video bro.
Do you keep your back straight when you are pushing with your wrists?
Thanks
Excellent and clear thanks so much.
Love your videos bro
how do you overcome injuries? i jumped from a ledge to a wall which i slipped on and scraped my arm and dented my shin. how do you keep motivated when u get hurt?
you got a new subscriber mate...nice work
Thanks dude! Really helpful.
