I bought this workbench and I absolutely love it. It was so easy to put together I’m a small elderly woman and I did it by myself and could not beat the price just incredible I buy another one and just put it in my kitchen it’s not nice
EXCELLENT video - Thanks for sharing! I read quite a few mixed reviews egar dthe quality, condition it arrived in and difficulties trying to install the drawers. I foung out the bench goes on sale next week at Harbor Freight and I think I will get one!
I just picked up mine that was ordered as it was not in stock at my store (1-7-2024). The previous two I have, had some particle board for the drawer assembly supports. Also they have 4 small drawers. And there was some tolerance problems with the width of the drawers vs the mating slides. This new one is all wood except for the drawer bottoms, and has the large bottom drawer. Assembly went without any problems. I assume there were complaints that longer tools could not fit in the smaller drawers. It's a good change.
Couple of important things in assembly. 1) I'd suggest using a dab of glue on the woodscrews. They can be overtightened very easily and it's good backup. 2) The drawer issue...which is probably why most people are here. For clarification, the sliders mounted ON the drawer must have the OPEN end facing the back of the drawer; the tab end should face the front! For the record, the instructions were written by amateurs. Even the first few instruction are inadequate, particularly visually: hard to tell where you're supposed to start. There should also be close-ups of how things are connected, and those damn sliders should be highlighted. Also, I had extra hardware left and NOTHING was left undone. Makes you doubt things unnecessarily; not a good thing in the garage at 11P. (an old product guy, I understand versions of self-assembly, but you really need to stay on top of that stuff). Harbor Freight! If you get things like this addressed BEFORE product is in a final ship state, you'll save a WHACK of phone calls and nasty emails. The product itself is quite good!
If you have trouble getting the drawers in, make sure the drawer slides on the desk easily accept the drawer slide on the drawer itself. It should go in easily. If it doesn't, and is seemingly being blocked by a small notch, fret not.. turn the slide hardware around on the drawer itself and voila. The stickers/instructions/user error cause this. Hopefully I could help.
SOLID workbench. Few tips though, drawers need to be pushed in with consistent pressure equally on both sides. Once set they are nice. Also, use a T25 drill bit and throw that cheap short Allen wrench away! Set drill to low setting though when using for screws or can over torque. Very happy with this until I’m able to build a custom bench. Thanks!
Anyone having issues with the drawers look at 5:18 - make sure the metal tabs on the drawer slides are at the front, not the rear! I'm not sure if they were installed incorrectly, or if I put the front on the wrong side, but it was frustrating until I realized they were backwards. Easy enough fix to just unscrew the slides and flip it if you've already got it together backwards
This comment saved me. I flipped the rails and it worked. I think the #11 “left side” panel is really upside down so people put it on the right side (maybe) and thus the rails are backwards. Instructions are confusing at this part and every single negative review on it it’s due to people who can’t get the drawers in. Without this comment I would’ve been left scrambling trying to bend it in. So frustrating after putting it all together for a few hours! Thanks!
Came here to suggest the same for all mating surfaces. Makes for a MUCH more sturdy piece. Especially if you scuff up the mating surfaces since they are factory finished.
LoL First drawer was successfully(top left) top right.. no damage, aligned well.. Makes grinding noise and comes out too far and doesn’t go back in all the way.
I figured this out: the part of the drawer slide that came attached to the #11 and #12 drawer sides was installed backwards. Unscrew those, flip them around so that the tabs are at the other end, screw back in and problem solved!
The best instructions with out talking and complete detail thanks

Of course it will go on sale soon since I got mine today. Hahaha
Good video. The bench seems well made. I am actually impressed
Thanks for the video. You made it so much easier
Without this video, I'd still be trying to figure out how to put this thing together. Many thanks!!

Thank you so much. This build was challenging to say the least and the video was extremely helpful! Great bench though.

I wish the drawers actually fit like this
I cant even figure out how to put them on but it sure isn't just like that

Yup, if you assemble the drawers per the instructions, you end up with the slide mechanisms being on backwards.
That’s definitely a beautiful table

This. I made the same mistake and had to correct myself on the first one I installed.
It is not your mistake, instructions are clear and wrong :)

Well, I'm off to the garage to look at some stuff. Thanks, youtube commenters. Shoulda watched and read this first.
I would put some wood glue on all those screw joints.

The build went great until I got to inserting the drawers. They only go in oart way then won't go any further. 😢
Same

The daytona 22 ton jack stands is awesome.
I want him to do it..he works fast!😂
how much weight can those drawers hold?
Great vidio
Is it possible to locate vise on the left side instead of the right by reversing the top?
I think you can do this.
Nice!!! 👍🏼😎
#1
These drawers are a nightmare. I regret buying this at this point
Who performed the music?
Fiddle McPickenbocker
can this be painted or is it clear coated?
They modify the drawers for the video. The draws won't go in unless you bend the back tabs so they don't catch

@@kaitkehoe6552 Naturally, I struggled with this yesterday and found no comments, but today someone also figured it out haha.
The metal tabs should be at the front of the drawer, not the back. You may have installed the sides backwards.
You can also just switch 11 and 12. That is the same as the video@@kaitkehoe6552
