To anyone sitting on the fence in regards to supporting John on patreon, Ive been happily supporting him since he started his patreon page. The quality and the amount of content he makes available cant be beaten. Id highly recommend doing it because you really are getting value for money, especially compared to other larger youtubers. Also hit the subscribe button its costs nothing.
There's plenty of better machinists on here and they don't ask for money, Myfordboy for one. Why watch a bodger when you can watch someone who knows what they are doing.
@@backyardmechanic921 He's not ''asking for money'', he's selling a product, he also knows what he's doing and is more relatable to the home machinists and hobbyists then them other channels, people who appreciate his time and effort him support him.....also, Myford Boy doesn't have Patreon, but he does well with all the free products he's given by various companies.
Brilliant mate. - And sharing your mistakes as well as the stuff that goes really well is what makes your channel a 'real' one. And your line "people who never make mistakes never make anything" is just so spot on.
Happy days John man, just timed it right tonight, and caught pt1 and 2 together, thanks for sharing and best wishes to you and yours buddy
Great video John, keep'um coming.
I tap small sizes frequently and the trick is to use a taper tap first, then the standard tap and a plug tap if necessary.
in a word brill
Can we have a bit more of Bob !
Both night caps brilliant, really enjoyed.
Another thumbs up from me John.
I bet that power tapping was a sphincter tightener. 😊
Nice work John.
Thanks John
Amazing the difference that .15 makes for a given thread ENGAGEMENT. Just make the tapping drill 3.5 grind a SLIGHTLY longer cutting edge one side.
Coming along nicely John. As a matter of interest, where do you get your silver solder from?
John you need some 10 BAs to tap to give you a bit of confidence.
Could always have used a 1/8BPW tap there, and gotten some 1/8in screws instead. Or 4BA instead, as those will match the rest of the steam engine.
The engine is all metric threads it is only 8 years old
why can't you just call anchorlube by its name instead of calling it something disgusting.
I just call it “lubricunt”
Most people find it amusing no harm meant by it . I hade a worse name in mind but decided against it .
M3 is kinda OK, although you do need to be gentle. M2 in stainless, that's where the old arse gets puckering.
