I am probably just as tense as you when your magnet gets stuck. This one got me worried because the whole rope was gone! I tried magnet fishing because of you (I have a small double sided magnet) but I only ever found one coin and the outside of a pot which I could already see from a bridge. It seems like the waters around me don't have magnetic stuff in them. A blessing and a bummer. Keep them videos coming friend!

Unsticking a magnet has been some of the more eventful magnet-fishing events I’ve dealt with. Not always a win like this one lol…. 😜. I keep some of the heavier nuts/bolts I find with me just for throwing the rope, like you did with the pliers.

It’s one of the great memories I have of him. He taught himself how to play. I always wanted to learn and got a couple different ones here and there but never stuck with it enough! Maybe I’ll still learn to play it!! But it never ceases to amaze me at the different things you pull up!! That’s why I love metal detecting!! You just never know what your going to find!! I’ve actually found harmonica reeds before, the metal parts that make the noise. That fishing pole was a really nice find. I love you enthusiasm every time you pull the magnet up! Thanks man!! Glad ya got your magnet-rig back, Tyler --- a for-future-mishaps suggestion: if you had stood on the end of that culvert that was located on the grassy bank about midway between the two docks, and used your grappling-claw from there to toss out into the water between the two docks and fish for your lost rope "at right-angles" (rather than "longitudinally", as you were doing by just tossing your claw from the far dock, where the two ropes --- the lost one and the "seeking" one --- were merely parallel to each other and thus the claw would not snag the lost rope so easily as it would if you were tossing the claw "across" the lost rope), it probably would have snagged the lying-across-the-space lost rope almost immediately, especially if you'd tossed the hook somewhat more towards the "far" dock, since that was where you'd tossed the pliers-weighted rope towards, and you'd almost landed the pliers-weighted rope-end onto that other dock, too, and so that area was likely where more than half of the rope was at that point. Or you could have tossed-and-dropped the hook into the water a few yards out from the side of the far end of the far dock, and then held the other end of the rope and walked back with it to the bank near the culvert and pulled the rope back towards the bank from there, dragging the hook along the lake-bottom on the area where the lost rope probably was lying. :D

As soon as I saw the pliers tied around the rope, I knew beyond doubt what was going to happen. As soon as they left his hand, the words "You dumbass" left my mouth. I'm glad it worked out in the end. Hooray for backup magnets!
personally im scared of magnet fishing in a marina or a place where boats generally are. specfically of getting my magnet stuck on one of the boats and having to explain that to the owner, if they are even there.

And that auger blade nice,, I would love to use that when I am making my deer antler canes and staffs its perfect for taking off the bark and small burs. Dude dude dude no... mabey the gear shifter will giude you to your rope..You need to keep the gear shifter it must be good luck...LOL glad everything worked out stay safe and keep throwing.

14:55 Snagging is pretty much illegal here...the only exception is when you're going for Spoonbill, or Paddlefish as some call them...same fish, but you'd use large treble hooks for that though
I can't believe you threw that in rope and all! All your experience wasn't showing there!!! I guess that just shows we all have those days. I'm sure when I get to go magnet fishing finally all of these things and more will happen to me!!! They happen to me all the time! It was kinda reasonable thinking to tie those pliers on the rope for a hot minute and throw them. Please don't take offense I'm just playing! This was an eventful but good day in the end!😀

You can find small 300lb kits magnets on ebay they dont cost much and are perfect for that age I have 3 for my nieces.

My grandpa also played the harmonica I was fortunate enough to get one of his when he passed in 93
