I got a straight razor shave in a barbershop once and it was the best shave I ever had so I've bought a straight razor and can't wait to try it.
this channel hides honest and truthful comments. I wrote an honest comment in the correct form, under the name "Andreas Münzer", but they deleted it. No one can see it except me, except the one who wrote it. this is very hypocritical.
So much work for something that’s gonna grow back in a few days. Very satisfying though, I love this.
The faster it grows back, the earlier the next barber visit is needed, the earlier you feel pure bliss
I am very surprised by the angle used; it seems to be doing more scrape/scratching the skin than cutting the hair.
I was thinking the same. Looks to be close to 45-60 degrees vs 30...... but I'm still new at this. Only about a year in.

I thought at first the same, but I think it was more the dullness of the blade, needed to be stropped and honed longer…. A disposable straight edge razor doesn’t make that loud of a scratching noise

Nothing feels better than a straight razor shave. Where i live we only had one barber that cleaned you up with a straight razor he has passed. No other barbers left around to carry on the tradition, the rest all use electric razors that leave stubble around your hair line above your ears and around to the back of the neck. It would be a privilege to have someone like this man shiw up in town he would take their business easily.

I mean, wish i had more hair to get a straight razor, but heck, i unfortunately have no use for one. A multiblade razor will do.
I would suggest going back to the barber book to learn the proper 14 strokes.

Just did my first attempt with a straight razor on myself and abandoned not quite halfway through due to the amount of blood. LOL! I thought it was lack of knowledge and practice; however, it is apparent the primary culprit is I dont have a badger brush!

Just go to nearest barber, mate.
It's not expensive and it's much safer than doing it by yourself.
Especially if you always bleed yourself when shaving.

Why do you put 2 shaving creams on? Do I need to put shaving cream on first, then shaving soap right after?
No. Make enough lather for two passes. Second pass doesn’t require as much lather
hmmmmm DO you feel the hairs getting cut? ngl the blade sounds almost a bit dull... how smooth is it
