In this conversation, Andrew asked me the following questions:
1. How does your sense of time in a musical context differ from your daily experience of it?

3. Can you talk about early 20th century Vienna and why it is a particularly fascinating historical period for you?
4. You've said that you don't feel particularly conscious of the place you were born and the culture you grew up in. And yet, I feel such a deeply rooted sincerity in all of your music making. What grounds you?
5. You've recently returned to the US after a few years in Europe. When a theme returns in a piece of music, even if its presentation is identical, we feel it differently depending on what has happened in the interim. Artistically speaking, how do you feel differently now being back in Philadelphia than you did when you first arrived here?
