Thanks for this. I love rick langfords pitching. You will never see anyone throw slow like this today. Great pitchers like langford cant get signed today.
Hey Jesus,I was also at this game,I was 27 years old,I lost my dad a bout 14 years ago,I'm. Very sorry for your loss, take care,I'm Greg from Stockton calif
This is a very different type of baseball than what we get today. Very enjoyable game, with lots of twists and turns despite the low score and the lead pendulum remaining still. What great teams!
The Billy Ball A’s were fun. Hopefully, the collaborative of collectors out there will be able to find all of the 1981 NL/AL Playoff broadcasts preserved and complete one day soon. 1981 was such an interesting season.
For a "back in the day" baseball junkie, this is heaven....miss this type of baseball, its like they care more of making the game better but in reality their ruining this beautiful game.
Baseball died when the loony rules like the pitch clock with penalty balls and strikes being called, ghost runner, pickoff limits, fat bases, DH in the NL were introduced.
Thanks for this as usual Sir. And please no worries regarding the quality on this, it is NOT lame a*s, looks very respectable to me, you did a great job in cleaning this up. 👍.
March 15, 1977 trade of Phil Garner to the Pirates got the A's in return Rick Langford, Tony Armas, Doug Bair and Mitchell Page who was not used in the '81 postseason.
The A's then ran into the Yankees, who swept the A's. I was at game 3 - The wave was created that night by "Crazy George," the Yanks winning pitcher was rookie Dave Righetti.

I was there opening night when Oakland spanked the Mariners 17-1. My brother shook Jack Tatum's hand at the concessions.
I love the Oakland A's uniforms
