Lt. Cmd Taeon: "The D7's are an old ship. Why would anyone want to steal them?" Me: "A free ship is a free ship. Six free ships is a better deal than one free ship."
As a forever DM and a fan of yours since your early videos I would love to hear MORE about your planning and prep. I feel games like this that are so heavly tied to an IP that people have such strong opinions on is always tough. With that said I love Star Trek games (since the OG FASA Star Trek RPG) but I have not looked at Star Trek Adventures at all really but watching this has made me consider it. Thanks for the videos. Looking forward to more!
This was my first introduction to a 2D20 system. I like the mechanics and would search for opportunity to play even if it wasn't star trek. This rocks! I don't know how you find the time and energy but please keep them coming. Thank you for doing this. I can't wait for the next one. The pre and post chats are awesome in my not so humble personal opinion.
The role playing is amazing!!! Love the GMing style where you let the players do their thing and talk with each other. Good job! BTW, I just saw the ending of ep 3 by accident when it was shown when I signed on to Twitch. I was obsessed and had to find ep 1 since it's not on twitch. Glad I found it!
That was so much fun! So much good tension. I know nothing about this game system, but it looks great. Guy, PLEASE go into more detail about how the planning changed. It helps us all to be better GMs. Cant wait for the next episode!
I have recently begun to watch all Star Trek and I must say I love it. This episode was also great! I like the way the systeme work, with threats and momentum, however, it adds some time to the action and by doing that it decrease and increase the tension at the same time. Most of my systems are simpler, but I can find some interrest in this strange tension. The story is also very interresting so far and the players are really invested. The cliffhanger was superb! Thanks for the sharing!
As someone who's running an investigation adventure, it's not railroading if you leave multiple sources to each clue and let the players ferret them out on their own. While I made some mistakes (like keep referring to the local mob as wererats when the players haven't discovered that fact yet... Grrr me...), but I've given them many, many, MANY clues, a lot they forgot because nobody was keeping notes. (I awarded someone with a +d6 to be used as an advantage die because they took my offer to take notes... and never did.) But even the city provided clues, since its architecture appears so very climbable and the sewers look like groups are using them to traverse the down. But, yeah, leave them a lot of breadcrumbs in mystery/investigation adventures and let the players decide how they're going to go about investigating the issue. It's not railroading.
More plans. Maybe you can add the comentary at the end of the episode and let us know the direction you expected things to go without giving spoilers for the future.
I wanted it to be a smaller ship so the PCs were no overwhelmed with orders and that starship combat could be 'quick'. My mistake for thinking it would a good idea! A smaller ship requires a captain and crew to know starship combat REALLY well to stay alive. I also am quite fond of the design.

Conan has it too, looking forward to playing it this winter 😂
Thanks for putting this video out, Guy! Love the prologue and epilogue for the BTS from a DM perspective!
I enjoyed the behind the scenes part,. but would prefer if it were at the end or a separate video either after the episode or the series.

Heck yeah, another ST:A actual play! We are probably sticking with 1st Ed, but I'm looking forward to seeing how 2nd Ed plays in this format.
Loved it!
I really should watch Star Trek.
Great start!

Please please please keep giving us perks behind the curtain, for Duskmourn too!
More plans.

More talk about your plans would be great!
Any chance there is an audio feed for live play podcasts?
The GM plans, and the proactive PC laughs.

What size are those d20’s? I’m always on the hunt for large dice lol!!
Would love to hear about the DM choices and plans you are making
Yes, I want to know your plans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What made you decide on a Nova Class?

@HowtobeaGreatGM ah that makes sense I was never a fan of the Nova but liked the Sabre or Akira class
Please talk more about your plans. It helps me learn more from you.
I want to play ST with someone :( Nobody plays this where I'm from
