Hey Mike, I appreciate your input, but I’d like to clarify a few things. While I acknowledge the EIU rankings, they don't specifically cater to expats. My ranking is based on personal experiences and preferences. A different perspective doesn’t invalidate a review; it simply offers another viewpoint. Vienna may be highly rated, but I wouldn't recommend it as a place to live for several reasons: a challenging housing market, long, cold winters, reserved locals making it tough for expats to integrate, occasional unfriendliness in service industries, and a somewhat old-fashioned vibe. How long have you lived in Vienna? Have you had personal experiences there, or are you relying solely on the EIU report?

I am curious what Information you have used for this list. Though I agree that Copenhagen is a very expensive city, it is in the exact same range as most of the top cities on the list. Using the bureaucracy as an argument is surprising - especially putting it lover on the list than an Italian city. Denmark is one, if not the most, digitalized country in Europe, it can for a lot be difficult to grasp at first, there are systems in place to help internationals and once you understand it, it becomes easy. Making friends with the locals can be difficult - but its the same, if not worse for Stockholm and Amsterdam, but especially Copenhagen is such an international city now that there's is always possibily of finding friends. The work/life balance in Denmark is one of the best in Europe. Most international people who have lived around European cities including Amsterdam and Stockholm (which usually is comparable) makes Denmark and Copenhagen their final destination.
Low cost of living and low income. The best cities you will find in the countries up north in Europe where you find hig prices but also high salary in you should work for a living. If you go in holiday in low budget og have retired the story is different. Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen are the best without a doubt if you work for a living. If you work in a grocery store in most of the cities you mention your stuck in that city with the low salary.

Poland Citizen will appreciate if we spell their city names correctly 🙏
Thank you for the tip! Polish people are wonderful, and they definitely will appreciate spelling their city names correctly. Much appreciated! 🙏🙌
I understand what you mean, but to most English speakers what you wrote means something different. What you want to say is "Krakow is *pronounced* like 'Krakov', etc. And speaking of spelling Polish names correctly, it's actually "Kraków", which is pronounced "Krakuuff", and "Wrocław", which is pronounced "Vrotswav". I lived in Poland for two years teaching English and travelled all over the country. (And btw, saying "Krakow" is perfectly standard in English) 🙂
Don't be ridicoulus. Every language has their own pronunciations of places. Sweden is "Sverige" in Swedish...Do I expect Americans to say "Sverige "...of course not...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts but this video isn't about affordable or cheap cities to live in. It's about the best places to live. Some of these cities offer such a high quality of life that the higher cost of living is justified

Other than Prague, do these Cost of Living figures include rent? If so, what size flat? Some of your COL figures sound way too low for 2024.
Hi @valeriet5581! 😊 Yes, the Cost of Living figures do include rent
They are based on a single person's perspective, so they account for the cost of a studio flat, which may not necessarily be in the city center

@@pierreherve8189 Good question but the answer is pretty simple
Primarily, this content is aimed at an American audience, where English is the most widely spoken language

Hey Mike,
I appreciate your input, but I’d like to clarify a few things.

All cities you will get a salary that will give you the possibility to travel the world. Yoy also get 5 week of paid vaication to go to all the beautiful cities in Europe og the rest of the world. If you work in a grocery store in most of the cities you mention your stuck in that city with the low salary.
