Normalize to -3db is one of the options under the favorites tab at the top of Audition. You can set up a shortcut to it but technically the listing in favorites is already a shortcut to it. Lol.
@@JLo83 I used Mike’s tip. I move really fast when editing and needed much quicker access than File -> Favorites -> Normalize. I set the hot key to CTRL+F and it’s been great. Saves a ton of time in my workflow.

Hi @MikeRussell, can you please what settings needs to check, when recording with Rcp2, podmic, adobe audition. For few minutes.of recorsing audio volume level is fine however noticed that the audio fades then goes up again
What if you got low-volume audio that you wanna normalize up but it's got louder peaks in it that you wanna keep the same? Normalize seems to damper everything down because of those loud peaks.
Normalise will adjust the whole audio by the difference between the amplitude of the loudest part of the audio and the target you set. If there are very loud peaks that are above the level you set then the whole audio will be reduced to make the peaks hit the target. I'd suggest you'd want to use a compressor to reduce the difference in amplitude between the peaks and the average.
Mike excuse me if i'm asking,, how can i make the voice i recorded close to the karaoke track i added,, to avoid any vocal loudness,, cuz i don't want my voice also to be that low,, but also not that higher than the track i'm playing,, thanks in advance bro 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey Mike - Just got into Adobe CS 5.5 & trying out the effects rack. What I can't figure is why the effects in the effect rack are different than the ones under the effects toolbar. Like normalize is not an option, and the noise reduction process is different. Any help?
The effects rack in Adobe CS 5.5 may have different presets and options compared to the individual effects. For specific processes like noise reduction, you may want to use dedicated effects rather than the effects rack.
Hi Mike, Can you make a video on getting rid of "Detected dropped sample rate" in bottom right corner of the screen. It pops up while recording and I don't know why it happens. I have set my sample rate to 24 bit and 44.1 Khz in both system settings and Adobe Audition. I use Mac Air m1 512 GB variant. Also I monitor through my DAW at 16 buffer size usually and change it to 512 when mixing or editing because at 16 buffer size the audio sounds choppy.
Detected dropped samples is usually a hardware issue where there are not enough resources available. This is most commonly processor, RAM or hard drive.
You need to identify what is causing this issue and resolve the issue. The software needs resources to operate so you need to clear what is causing the dropped samples detected error.
Hey Mike do you know anything about the "Toggle Clip Effect Envelopes" command... i have toggled it on and off in many different panels but nothing would happen... -do you have to have keyframes ready?
@@MikeRussell thats the thing...I cant find a way to apply keyframed effects to a singular clip...i mean i have been researching everything and all i could find was people applying keyframe effects to one specific track in the multitrack... There are also many commands on adobe audition that have no explanation on TH-cam... In my opinion You being a big source of information...You could make Good content on something that still has no explanation from an English speaker like yourself...besides who else would...i mean i could but im not certified hehehehe. If you want i can give you a Long list of commands that haven't been documented And trust me there's a lot...Im also trying to collect them all in terms of defining them...so that i could then move on to the next step of becoming the keyboard shortcut king...Im so close jajajja But this ain't exactly for me...since this could help a lot of people besides from me if you think about it. :)

You can assign hotkeys under the keyboard shortcut menu

What are some situations where audio should be normalized?
Normalisation can be used at any time. It does not change the dynamics of the audio.
What if you got low-volume audio that you wanna normalize up but it's got louder peaks in it that you wanna keep the same? Normalize seems to damper everything down because of those loud peaks.

I'd suggest you'd want to use a compressor to reduce the difference in amplitude between the peaks and the average.

Toggle clip command keyframes does exactly as you'd expect but obviously you need to have keyframes in place for the command to be able to toggle them
