- Welcome to my July studio vlog! I took a lot of time off this month, partially to ride across Iowa in a ride called RAGBRAI, but I also went viral on tikok, finished a big painting, and did some other fun stuff! You'll just have to watch and see I guess!

100% relatable about the commissions😂 I stopped doing them ages ago just cuz I’d get imposter syndrome and then I’d overthink it, wouldn’t know what to charge, hated the pressure of making something when the customer was super vague about what they wanted and then ask for more than one revision. Ugh. I just gotta do my own thing! I have massive respect for all of y’all that do commissions without sweating it!

your watercolor figure paintings are fantastic. the two female figures you showed side by side are really wonderful. just the right amount of visual information, but not too much. and your color sense is so great, as always. earlier in your vlog i thought it might be morphing into a stand-up comedy routine, but then the hot weather bike ride was no joke! always a pleasure to get a peek into your artist life. thanks!

This video is excellent. Something about it was so utterly relaxing - despite all the activities and events and life happening that made it so interesting too! It just made me feel really mellow and happy to paint along (which I haven’t really felt like with anyone’s videos in a long time). To the point where I was kinda sad it ended. But my head is filled with fine art and fun paintings and I’ll take your lovely attitude and creative artful vibes with me until the next one x

Sorry to hear about the bike! Did you say it got stolen before Ragbrai?? 500 miles on any bike is a lot miles. Congrats on pushing through and on the viral success/sales of your swan print. You deserve it, putting in tons of work. Great to see you getting the recognition that many of your viewers here have noticed from the start.

I eBiked about 10.5 miles today, and that felt pretty badass for me, then I saw you and your friends crisscrossing the country and playing bike polo!! (I nod at people rather than wave, because waving feels like a little too much movement while riding.) I think you can just say "been", like "how nice everyone's been." Congrats on the viral swan video, and the resulting spike in orders. The eyeglass holders are a nice touch. You remind me a little of Erica Ortegas from SNW. Bonus points if you recognize the reference. Maybe it's the hair. Nice video!!

When you were on Ragbrai, did you do the Karras (century) loop…I live on the farm were patches were handed out .
I didn't but my partner and his brother did!! My favorite part of the ride was hanging out with people who volunteered their front yards- Iowa is so beautiful!
