Matt I really appreciate that you take the time and explain things. Around my area there isn’t a lot of old timer farmers around to get knowledge from. Most of them are very secretive about their operation and don’t want to go into to many details. It seems as though some of them are looking for steering wheel holders and that’s it. I was fourtante to have a guy I worked for teach me some things and another older farmer who I can call and ask questions with no hesitation. But again thank you for sharing your farm and different information that can be valuable to a young farmer

    Excellent work!
A truism that applies to anyone who owns their own business..'With business, comes business'.
The phone will ring, someone will ask 'can you do this?' You never know where it might lead!

Love that you are trying to help beginner farmers my family ain't no beginner by an means but we struggle with some fields especially the sandy soil fields we have since we've had them we can not get 100 plus bushel per acre and we fertilize for 250 bushel but only ever get 80 to 90 bushel corn off them but beans do just fine and our soil samples say nothing is wrong which is strange

Your only about 17 min away from where i live now! I just bought some land down in Finger roughly 5 clear acreage that used to be farmed but after the house on the property burned down they abandoned the land. Gona try and start a small farm in a couple years once i get the land taken care of and paid off. Im looking into the VA for any resources or assistance for a start up. Im lookig forward to the adventure

Great info. Would you do tillage before or after lime application?
