    I'm planning on buying one soon. Even if I have my phone, I still keep getting interruptions a lot (mostly from calls) and the iPod touch is actually good and easy to use for a music player (without having to go through the ruckus of downloading songs to it from a computer)

    I use mine every night when I fall asleep! My new phone I got no longer has the headphone jack and I like to listen to music when I sleep, so using the iPod it is.

    They should have added a sim card to it and continue selling it as iPod instead of iPhone SE

    Today iPod 7 is looking very compelling as a music player for the car. It's one of the only iPods with the capability of playing Hi-Res Lossless audio through a Lightning port. That means it can be plugged into a 30 pin iOS jack [by Apple's Lighting adapter] for charging, streaming and controlling at the vehicles steering wheel. It matters because the next iPhone could be incompatible USB-C with no adapter cable to a 30 pin iOS jack. Imagine how many modern vehicles out there have 30 pin jacks to stream today's Hi-Res Lossless music.

      @buzzlightyearoh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      maybe and just maybe 1% of people can discern 320 mp3 from lossless so it's not no big deal

    • @LawrenceMarkFearon
      @LawrenceMarkFearon ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@buzzlightyearoh The highest quality MP3 has a bitrate of 320kbps, whereas a 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res Lossless file has a data rate of 9216kbps. Music CDs are only 1411kbps and considered lossless. At the 24bit/48khz or higher level, Hi-Res Lossless blows mp3's away. They make CD's sound like cassette tapes. This is a bitrate the highest quality masters can utilize for stratospheric quality on modern vehicles multichannel surround sound systems. Particularly since Apple's Lightning to 30 Pin adapter cable comes armed with an onboard Hi-Res DAC. That's why it's so expensive. Apple future proofed the hell out of their audio gear well beyond the simple Lossless CD level for a difference that can be heard and felt viscerally by most people in a controlled environment like the car. Poor MP3's never stood a chance.

      so this is a much better option for quality audio than using my phone with apple car play via blue tooth?

    • @LawrenceMarkFearon
      @LawrenceMarkFearon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adamspiegel7955 Absolutely. Apple's AAC bluetooth bitrate is 256kbps. When comparing bitrate, or the amount of data transferred per second, High-Resolution Audio’s bitrate (9,216 kbps) is nearly seven times higher than that of CDs (1,411 kbps) and almost 29 times higher than that of AAC(256 kbps). And the higher the bitrate, the more accurately the signal is measured. You best audio quality comes from wired iPod mode directly plugged into the USB jack or Apple's 30 Pin connector [#MD824ZM/A] with Lightning adapter to iOS Multimedia jack. It's about $80 because it has a built in Hi-Res audio DAC. Because it's wired, your phone OR iPod stays charged on the same jack. But the next iPhone could be USB-C which would restrict compatibility with earlier model vehicles which is why this 7th gen iPod Touch could be valuable for playing Hi-Res Lossless Apple Music in the older cars.

    I have one in pink. I bought it when they came out. It is so small compared towards my iPhone. I bought it just in case if the BT wasn’t worth in my vehicle for the iPhone. Somehow that I can paired it towards my iPhone for the music. I bought a cheaper one in the lower price at that time.

    The iPod touch 7th Gen models are fully supported by iOS 12 as well as iOS 13 and add Group FaceTime and AR (Augmented Reality) support, as well. The iPod touch 7th Gen models support iOS 14 and iOS 15, too, but a wide variety of more advanced featuers are not supported.
    Running iOS 14, the iPod touch 7th Gen does not support Car Keys, Spatial Audio via Airpods, App Clips, AR Location Anchors, Exposure Compensation Control, Burst Photos/QuickTake Video using the Volume Down button, and On-Device Dictation. Running iOS 15, the iPod touch 7th Gen does not support Spatial Audio, Portrait Mode, Immersive Walking Instructions, Live Text in Photos, Live Text Translation, Visual Look Up, 3D Landmarks, Home Keys, and Animated Weather Backgrounds.

    Thank you, for this review of your iPod Touch 7th generation. For most people between an iPod, iPad, iPhone, and Laptop computer they only need two devices. My office co-worker and, I both own Android cell phones. She has a basic iPad 9th generation and an iPod Touch 7th generation and, I also own a basic iPad 9th generation plus a classic 5th generation iPod (smile...smile).

    Ok I have two of these. On the one where the home button is “sinking”, have no problem converting my music videos from TH-cam to iPod touch. Put it in, hit Get Info, and bam! Music video can be seen. My backup 7th gen iPod touch for some reason says on some videos “this cannot be played on this device” or something like that. Both are the same, so why is my backup touch not accepting some videos?!?

    • @MATTTEOESTTTEBAN
      @MATTTEOESTTTEBAN ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Tj Semeniuk This iPod should last more years and updating even more until reaching the point that the software does not support more updates.
      And I would like to know why they didn't update it to iOS 16?

    • @K_240YT
      @K_240YT ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MATTTEOESTTTEBAN it uses the same chip as the iPhone 7 so that's why it didn't get 16 + battery is bad enough on 15
