Nothing is growing and the heat has taken a toll. I live in South Carolina we have been dry and hot since the end of May. These past three weeks temps have been in the high 90's with a heat index over 100!!! I am gardening vicariously through your garden. Good Morning Kevin! We all have failures in the garden, I think it is just a little learning lesson from nature. I have been canning pickles and making sour kraut. My garden was a little late getting started, but it is going great now. Thanks for all you do!

ONLY four acres? I just did the math and I have a little over half a city lot which is a bit over an eighth of an acre, about 6,000 square feet, the house takes about 1,300 square feet plus there is a two car garage. So I put my kitchen garden in the front yard, four raised beds of about 4x9. I have planters around the edge for flowers, two grape vines and two fruit trees. I am developing a pollinator garden and the butterflies and bees have already discovered it. With four acres you have done a phenomenal job landscaping it considered what it was like when you first bought it. I think I originally found your website when you were renovating the house. Later I found your TH-cam channel for recipes. I really enjoy all you’ve done and what you are doing. It is so relaxing and you’ve shown me some great techniques and recipes. Thank you so much for the tour and inviting me into your home virtually.

My Son started cooking when he was four, and he taught ME, that slicing mushrooms with an egg slicer is really quick! I still do that!
I'm ALMOST finished restoring my Craftsman/ Spanish Revival home, and the gardens.

Hi Kevin, boy! Have I had garden failures. The dear deer ate 150 of my oriental lilies. The chickens ate my snapdragons and poppies. Sciatica has prevented me from planting my annuals. Oh well, as you well know, no matter how experienced one is,Mother Nature is the top dog and decides what will make it. Have a great week. Looks like we are supposed to get a good amount of rain. 🎉

Sheer genius! Can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your garden tour. It’s just magnificent! Lovage is my favorite herb and I have had the same plant for over 40 years. My new helper cut it down to the ground without knowing but it’s popped right back up. Funny you should wonder about using Hosta flowers in arrangements as I was looking at mine thinking the same! I'm astonished at the size of the trees and the border from the time when you first planted them. The boxwood garden is spectacular. Your planning and patience in propagating so many bushes paid off beautifully. The vegetable garden chat was fun and informative. Your deep purple zinnias combined with the chartreuse greenery is one of my favorite garden color combinations. Enjoyed it all, Kevin! Thank you!
