    So the Bletchley Bedford service is a bus, but all these units are sitting idle in Worksop?! There's something seriously wrong with the rail industry in the UK. The taxpayer is paying through the nose for a very substandard service, as usual.

  • @stevenmoran4060

    It’s easy to achieve as the operators say they need them but never actually buy them. Good old tax payer buys them and gives them to leasing companies who store them in depots. And to think, BR used to swallow too much taxpayer money according to the Tories. Now they are spending massive multiples of the BR grant on private companies that make big profits, hence the shareholder payments, but claim they don’t make money and refuse to employ the correct number of staff in any department.
    Rest Day working was always there but under BR you got paid well for working then otherwise, we never would have done so. Transport Minster needs to realise, Northern, Transpenine, LNER, Scotrail, and Network Rail are actually state owned. They are just operated by those companies as operator of last resort. So the operators can’t hold pay talks as they aren’t in charge anymore.
    It was far cheaper and far better run as BR and it was one big family that made it all work reasonably well compared to todays services.

    • @tenny_tenten
      @tenny_tenten 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem is, its going into service soon, and the 455's currently running on are having spare parts going bust because the company who makes spare parts of the 455 was closed, way back in 90s, because of that, SWR decided to strip off some 455 for parts and scrap it, basically there is no option for them because spare parts for the 455 are now, unavailable

    That is costing someone a lot of money. Bought, paid for, running up interest charges and earning nothing. If it was 30 year old stock it would long ago have earned its keep.

    and thay say we are short of trains hmm this is why so many depots like this with trains that are fine but for some reson or a other the trains are not used lack of drivers, TOC dont want them any more or cant pay for them and so u end up with trains sitting in depots like this doing nothing then thay wonder why when the trains do get used thay brake as thay are not ment to be stored like this shame really it whould go a way to fix the train probs we face not all but some.
