Not sure. I see what you’re saying but i thought she looked weird on screen. She may be screen accurate 😬. She does look cool next to Thanos with the armor color matching.
Proxima Midnight is 6'6" in the comics. I think they translated that well in the movie and this figure. She's an alien so her proportions would make sense, especially in the legs. Ebony Maw has lengthy arms and hands in the movies but that's on the case for his figure. I think they would look good together but I don't see any problems.
It’s interesting because every shot you put together where we just saw her from the torso up looked great, especially with Maw and Thanos. Some folks have already done a body swap a d she looks great, but to dump another $75 or $80 on a third party knock-off is a difficult pill to swallow.
I don't really see the problem with her, but I think it's because she's an alien so I'm more willing to accept different proportions than I would in something that's supposed to be human
First time buyer with comic Sanctorum and I bought this figure. However they charged me a week ago and request I set up a shipping option but for a week I can’t do anything on the site to ship. It says “in process” and they gave me a 2 week window or they are cancelling the order? What do i do? How do you teach them? Confused
@@matthoughton4220 I wasn't talking about the head Matt, I never mentioned the head. I agree the head does look smaller compared to the films and other toys/figures, but the height and longer legs do match. It seems to me you're comparing her to a human, she is not a human.
@@matthoughton4220 ...incorrect, I never said you mentioned I was talking about the head. I was clarifying we are talking about different parts of the figure you twit 😅 just like your figure analysis, your score is off 😏
I felt like this was an excellent review trying to explain a negative reaction to a product, which sometimes isn't the easiest thing to do. Thanks, I was already going to pass because of space issues, but it's good to see a fair assessment of a company's failures as well as their successes, helps temper expecations.
I own a Hot Toys figure that i do not regret buying, at the same time i have never opened the brown shipper box. I don't know why? ..the figure in question is Tony Stark (Team Suit). I know it is a bland looking figure, but i knew i would regret it once they sold out if i had not picked one up. For sure, one day i will open the brown shipper box and check the figure out.
Kind of wonder if something went wrong with the mold, the headsculpt reminds of the Asmus LOTR figures where half the head ended up a bit smaller than the other. Also, the 1 figure I regret buying was the Sideshow IG88 v2. It was just cheap, outdated, and over priced. Actually canceled the rest of my preorders from that bounty hunter line because of it... and haven't bought a Sideshow figure since lol. It's an awful feeling to spend that kind of money and then not even want to display something.
What's absolutely crazy to me, is until you mentioned the issues, I just thought you had the camera at a weird angle forcing some very forced perspective. If that's straight on though? Yeesh.
She's an alien. Her proportions are accurate to the movies she's in and she is definitely odd looking even there. That being said it sure didn't translate to 1/6 and I was pretty meh with mine too....thought I guess it's better than no proxima midnight.
You can find plenty of screen grabs of Proxima Midnight from the movies and you can compare this figure’s proportion and no, this figure is not accurate at all.
Thank you for making a review on her, I was really thinking about making a move to purchase her and then I seen Justin‘s video and I was like Nah…but then I seen this and you put the nail on the coffin. Toy era is good for making 2.0 figures, I hope they give her a second run with major upgrades.
The figure is bad but it might have worked if the arms were longer. If you have long legs, you have long arms. It’s going in the back of my display. That’s for sure.
In a situation like this is where hot toys should come in and say to the third-party this is how it's done by creating this figure but even if they did my answer to them would be what the hell took you so long this should have been a part of the infinity War line years ago I just don't understand it with her toys on how incomplete their series of 6 scale figures are when it comes to Marvel and all types of pop-culture 6 scale figures I don't understand it why is the endgame line incomplete you don't have everybody that supposed to be there and the infinity War line incomplete as well this character should have been made along with the rest why should it be served party to create these figures to get a complete set why is it if you want a complete set of any type of figure you have to rely on Hasbro when they create their action figures that are complete in the line
I really thought it was the camera angle at first, then I remembered there's no chance of you positioning the camera wrong..lol! The proportions are waaayyyy off with her. The side-by-side really shows how off it is. Thanks for the great video as always sir! Sorry about the figuire, what a let down.
I’ve been in this same situation before, it’s honestly the worst and biggest waste of money :( also can you please tell me where you purchased your cabinet where you have your 1/4 ninja turtles and storm trooper helmets. I’m losing sleep trying to find it Ahaha
what did you expect? The company's name is literally Infamous Toys. by definition it's translated to--->Bad quality Toys. Really, that is a horrible name to have for a product company.
Nice honest review! I 100% agree - it's not a good figure and only reason I am keeping it is because I want a Black Order display... IMO, I think they changed Corvus to Toys Battalion because they knew there was going to be backlash from their crap Proxima figure... fingers crossed that they still give us a Cull!!
I have this figure coming from Toyswonderland. I must say, I'm very disappointed in the company, especially after they've shown they are more capable, I mean their Ebony Maw was awesome in my opinion as well as others. However, since there are no other 1/6 scale options, I'll be keeping her for the time being until someone decides to do a better version. My hopes for Corpus Glaive have diminished....but I'm gonna try to remain optimistic. Great video....and appreciate your honesty
You are definitely correct on your review of her. Even though the proportions are horrible, I'm holding on to her in hopes of getting the entire Black Order. She looks better in a group with Thanos and Ebony so far. Should have Corvus soon too. Now just give us a Cull.
@@JedhaPatrol hey a bit off topic but I'm new to hot toy collecting just had a quick question is it okay to keep a figure in a pose where his joints are bent for an extended period of time? The figure I have is the heavy mand have him in a wide stance pointing his gun skyward in case that matters.
Yes, I was excited about this figure ), I have only collected Hot Toys figures since I started collecting in 2017. My first 3rd party figure was the recent Heimdall (sp) release and I thought that it was pretty good. It wasn’t Hot Toys quality but of course it was less expensive and looks pretty good. So I went ahead and ordered this Proxima figure based on pictures of the Ebony Maw figure Infamous produced (which looked really nice) …but as soon as I opened the box, I felt immense regret, this Proxima figure is bad on several levels, I not sure I will even display it.
Agree, I had to do a body swap on her with a Phicen body and improved her balance 100% I also got her some bigger hands to make her more impressive. I wish her head was about 10% larger. She isn't great but she'll do till a better one gets made. Thanks for your video.
It's funny cause I actually had a similar feeling with my Limtoys Gunslinger. I was looking forward to that thing for months, so excited to get it because Arthur Morgan is one of my favorite characters, and then I unbox it and the legs seemed weirdly long to me. Threw the whole look of the figure off and I ended up selling it days later.
I have 1 regret, Soosoo toys Lady Ninja Sai (Electra from Netflix Daredevil). The body sucks, hands fall off, hands barely grip the daggers, likeness to actress not good. It turned me off all SOOSOO Toys. LIM Toys (Metal Gear Solid figures) and VTS Toys (Mad Max and Red Dead Redemption 2 Arthur Morgan) are the only 3rd party companies I trust to make a good product. This figure here looks bad to me. I guess it’s good enough, but good enough is not worth any amount of money to me.
I skipped this hoping another would be made. As I’m typing I realize that this may be the only one we get. I can’t justify buying this though when the other third party black order figures look better.
I bought the ebony maw loved it pre ordered this got it infamous need to apologise head too small hands tiny and don’t get me even started on legs I have to hide her legs using thanos’s blade

Sorry, I don’t shop there 🤷🏻♂️
The official marvel legends Proxima Midnight has really long legs also, looks to me like the proportions are correct. 🤷♂️
interesting

I like mine to complete my black order. Also got the Corvus and Maw! For the price I think it’s okay.

The only term I can think of is "wonky". Just strange.
great term

The black order figures look amazing next to that Thanos!
“Here’s where it goes all kinds of wrong”😂😂😂
She was freakishly tall with weird proportions in the movie.
What's absolutely crazy to me, is until you mentioned the issues, I just thought you had the camera at a weird angle forcing some very forced perspective. If that's straight on though? Yeesh.
Yes . I have .
look at my tiny head and hands...why do I have a tiny head and hands...Thanos why would allow them to do this to me? I want Vengence!!!!

You're wrong here man, she goes well with the black order, that's where she will be posed so if it works then it's all good
fair enough
Your right but look how cool they will all look together!!!
is there a way for a body swap?
I might be wrong on this, but I thought she *was* out of proportion in the movie (like Glaive).
Can I buy that from you?
Well, Proxima was a taller being; but I agree the proportions seem off.
There’s review is refreshing, keep it up big bro 😎
The entire upper half needed to be larger and longer

The second she showed up in the video, I immediately noticed her t-rex arms.
roar
I’m sure ZZ Top would love that figure. She’s got legs, but does she know how to use them.

solid decision
Oh no 🙉 the Child of Thanos fail
I reckon if they at least did the eyes properly. Would could have posed her in a way the long legs wont be that noticeable.
To answer the video's opening inquiry ... Sadly, Yes... Yes I have.

lol right
The hip and legs look backwards. That is an odd looking figure.
No. I try to buy just the figures i really like. I avoid collecting them all.
