WillFoxification Reviews 2023
From hence forth, you shall be known as…Will-facts-ification…
Brooklyn always coming in clutch lol! Dude, I meant to ask, you getting first class cloud? I'm kinda sorta super duper tempted 👀
@@WillFoxification already got it my dude! Haven’t had the chance to break it out, but by all accounts it is pretty good and gets the job done. Not gonna have the range of motion like AC Cloud, but it’s great nonetheless if you’re using it as intended: a companion piece for the extra AC Cloud portrait.
@@BrooklynWolfTheCollector Yeah I kinda wanna use as a display piece for Sephiroth
Seeing the Kardashians certainly wasn't on my bingo card
You underestimate my power!
Get the ones you truly want and desire because they are not cheap😂🤣😊
100% they are not!
FACTS
Lookout, it's the anticipation of the figure arriving, unboxing it, and looking at it for the first weeks that are extremely dopaminergic. Dopamine, the anticipation neurotransmitter. What's the next better one... very addictive.
100%. It can be a drug if we're not careful!
All valid and great questions. I collect 1/6 for the detail, unique accessories or diorama, realism and love for the characters. Good video!
thanks Kevin! Keep collecting bro!
You have hit the nail on the head with many of these topics I myself have had a couple of figures that I'm not going to say regret but fell out of love with. However I have a personal connection with every figure that I have purchased. And that's why my collection is special to me. As always amazing video and amazing content and you speak with honesty and truth! Thank you for making these videos! Strong work brother 💪🏻
Thanks my bro! You can curate over time!
Good video Will
Thanks John!
Great video, Will! It’s a great perspective on figures to buy and which really you want on your collection!
Thanks, Matthew! Trying to be useful here!
This is all mostly relevant for statue collecting too.
100%. Those are even more expensive and space consuming.
I stick to only buying characters I like and I avoid buying "lines". I don't need every Star Wars OT character and would be happier with only my 5-10 favourites.
Ahsoka, from a figure quality point of view, has incredible figures. Possibly the best line of figures ever made. However, I can't afford the whole line plus all the other figures I want outside Ahsoka so I'm only buying Ahsoka (white) and Thrawn.
I also don't buy every Spider-man suit. Instead I buy only unique Spider-man figures. One Peter Parker, one Miles, one Miguel, etc..
I try to avoid buying lines as well and try to stick with one representation per character. BUT my best friend told me that she didn't like how Endgame Hulk and Thanos were on one shelf and the other 5 OG avengers were on separate shelves and that I should put them on one shelf. So I did. HOWEVER, I don't have Endgame Thor and Black Widow cause I think other releases did the characters better. Everything else is Endgame but those two not being Endgame is starting to bother me 😅
@@michaeldelcastillo7211 Love it! Yeah, just because a line is amazing doesn't mean we need every one! Saying no is harder than saying yes, usually!
How I’ve handled my Hot Toys addiction to avoid being homeless is to sit on the figures I want for a while. If it goes waitlist then that’s the risk I’m willing to take. Unless it’s an Artisan I know for a fact I want the moment I see it. I’ve passed on several figures I wanted for months only to lose interest. Do I still want them? Of course. But these days with the economy and inflation looking like it’s here to no end you have you to be very selective.
And you’re right. These are all wants, not needs. Needs are BILLS, food, & gas. Wants are action figures.
Only thing I have my eye on now is TDK Armory 2.0. Just waiting for a few Sideshow Rewards to convert to lessen the cost. 8 month payment plan all day.
Shady always coming through with the wisdom!
I recently had to come to terms with my shelf looking more like a toy store than a collection. I put a lot up for sale on eBay and I’m happy my figures have a new home.
nice! Happy to pass them along to a new home!
Do you have any regrets from any of the hot toys figures you’ve sold?
For me I’m the collector that has to have the definitive version of a certain character to be added to my collection, but that being said I do from time to time PO figures I’m no longer interested in and having to cancel it. Thankfully though all my figures I’ve gotten in the past has been in my collection for over 3 years and not having to sell any because I genuinely love those characters in my collection.
And I will say that both you and Keco have inspired me to collect better and having a healthy relationship with my collection, so thank you Will & Keco. Really appreciate the content that you create and for always sharing your honest thoughts and opinions in the 1/6th community. ❤👊🏻✌🏻
The man himself! Thanks, Myron! Appreciate the kind words my bro!
@@WillFoxification Always happy and looking forward to your next videos bro, you create great content and I thank you for it.
I know in the case “ hot toys “ is used as a synonym of 1/6 life like figures . But funnily enough , while I’ve been collecting 1/6 for some time now . And while I have Asmus Toys ( the most), some third party and custom ones , 2-3 InArt in PO. “Hot Toys” as a trade mark , for the first time interested me with artisan God Loki , and as I secured one ( no thanks to sideshows nonsense ) , I also ordered another Loki from the TV show as well, even though I’m no fan of the lack of rooted hair .
Didn't know you were a big Loki fan, love to see it!
@@WillFoxification I just recently watched the TV series and I was surprised how much I loved the show! Because from the Thor related movies , I really didn’t care about Loki , but in the show , he gets an amazing character development , and that super sad but heroic ending , made me wanna give him a nice home where he won’t be alone 😅
I just started getting hot toys this month. I really just want Star Wars characters (mostly prequel era characters) Don’t think I’ll get addicted, but who knows 🤷♂️
You hopefully won't. It gets easier and easier to buy tho lol
You really nailed some good points in this video. I used to buy any figure from lines like Funko n Mezco. Since switching to Hot Toys I’m more picky. I try and only go for figures that have a memory for me or is my favorite character. That way I won’t want to sell cause I don’t have any connection with the character
Exactly bro! Sometimes its okay to buy wants, but we should try to go after needs.
You should make more vids like this. Been collecting for 10 years now, and me n a homie always bring up these points. It really is all about honing in and not letting hype trains derail you. Well maybe a little.
thanks bro! Yes, we can derail ourselves just a little lol
I want them all and in all actuality and 42 Hot Toys later I don’t need any of them. 😂
Hahah yes collecting need differs from irl need!
Great topics. When I first started collecting I just needed to have that next figure to satisfy the itch. Now I just get those characters that I really enjoyed from certain films or shows.
Yes absolutely! It takes time to curate.
Great tips, I think in the current model of 1/6...we can't collect it all and for the average person because selective is key to prevent falling into debt traps. Fomo and hype will always pass and often cause a regretful purchase or self justification. Build and end goal and work towards it, and understand that pivoting and evolving from what you initially planned is ok too.
fomo will definitely pass, it's like a cold!
Wise words from Will the Wise🧠
I wish I was wise lol!
Great idea for a video loved this.
Thanks my bro! As are your vids!
Will, we missed in last week's Collectors Anonymous meeting.
You'll be charged an nrd for your absence
I completely agree with what you just said. Great pointers 👍🏾
Thanks Mitchell!
Great vid ideas!
thanks my bro!
Your content just keeps getting better and better, sir. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Thanks for the kind words bro! Trying to make improvements steadily!
Not even sure it's as much addiction as it is FOMO and a false sense of completionism tbh.
yes that fomo is strongggg and hard to ignore.
I'd say impossible 😂@@WillFoxification
I tend to buy from 3 different lines. Marvel, Star Wars, and DC. I don’t buy everything just my favorite characters. I won’t complete the Avengers but I will buy the characters I like and the figures I think is amazing, which I apply to Star Wars and DC. The one thing that surprised me is I became an army builder. I have 5 Storm troopers, 3 Death Troopers and 2 Dark Troopers and an Imperial Commando which I purchased most of them during the monthly sales Side Show has. I think I will stop Army building at this point and stick with buying my favorite characters, I do have to say I love the look of my Imperial Troops which looks bad ass.
That's awesome bro! It's tricky to curate, but necessary!
I am going all in on Spiderman and villains, same with batman all the different versions. With some extras like black panther and loki iron man and cap ect..
nice! Loki is a must!
@WillFoxification I'm not sure if you are in to 3rd party figures, but it would be a cool list rank of the best figures or the best companies and a video on best unknown sites to buy from whats reliable
Very good advice, what i do to prevent addiction is i tend to avoid scene specific figures. For example, God Loki is a fantastic figure, so is Battle Damaged MK 85, but they only appear in very specific scenes. There is only one figure in my collection that could be considered scene specific, and that is the MK V.
very interesting! Makes sense!
For me, it’s a matter of space since I only buy characters I like. Couldn’t see myself parting from anything in my collection.
love that! Gotta love what you got!
Interesting thoughts i just might curate collection a bit
sounds like a good plan!
Well will after months of consideration you made me make a choice on kenobi from his show, I went back and fourth for months now since my local shop still has it for pre order. But your right if they make another episode three kenobi I’ll want that as my kenobi representation instead
yeah! And we can't wait forever, but our collections are usually fine unless it's a need!
cad bane is so sick Will i NEED it okay
Bro it's such a good figure
No one knows collector psychology like Will... Going back to the nickelwise PowerPoints
Hahah my track record is lengthy!
Sometimes the manufacturers love to play punk with collectors. They will deliberately create a figure but add in "design weakness" to the overall design then wait a few months and then announced that a new 2.0 or whatever will to released specifically to address those "design weakness" in the earlier 1.0. This entices and sometimes forces collectors to buy an extra figure that could have been avoided in the first place.
my issue is that if i spend on a figure, I feel obligated to buy every figure I like thats cheaper. For example, I bought a figure recently, and immediately had to grab a buzz lightyear as well because he was cheaper and i like him more.
sometimes a good deal isn't a good deal for you
Who else is jealous of Will’s ability to beautifully articulate anything? 😅
Just you, probably lol!
6:51 I feel attacked
Literally laughed out loud at this.. your collection is 🔥 man😂
👀 we will determine your fate in July
what are your thoughts on iron studios 1/10 statues?
I've owned 4 of them and I really liked them. Good quality, just didn't fit in my collection.
U know anything about stockx? They have a bunch of hot toys on sale for deep discounts
Usually those are fellow collectors re selling. I haven’t used them personally
I want more hot toys but I need more money..see I used your definitions well 😂
haha sammeeeee!
Plot twist: Will is Darth Vader
👀
It’s definitely so addictive
yes!
@@WillFoxification definitely 😂
Aw man, now we know will wants a sixth scale Kim Kardashian figure. Your secret is out!
Honestly, I've never watched the show, but I bet she'd sell lol!
My advice:
1. If you want it, immediately buy it at retail, if not available at retail, immediately pay any eBay price.
2. If you're not sure if you want it, best to just be safe and immediately buy it at retail or from eBay.
3. If you don't want it, you might want it later, best to just be safe and immediately buy it at retail or from eBay.
4. If you don't have room, immediately sell your display cabinets and just use the stairs, so long as you can get one foot on each step you'll be fine.
5. If you can't afford it, immediately get an exorbitant pay day loan, you'll be fine you need the figure now.
6. If you can afford it, immediately buy it or you don't deserve your money.
7. If you can easily afford it, buy multiple since it's always a [redacted] investment.
8. Food and water are wants "Ah I spent all my money on figures, I'm starving and thirsty, I don't *want* to die"
9. Figures are needs: "Because I was trying to save my figures, the balif *need* me in the balls".
10. Star Ace collection.
I like #10.
sound advice as always shiny
I confess to being addicted to the $$$ and somewhat pointless hobby of 1/6 collecting.
hahah aren't we all!
First 👀
my man was ready!

imperial troops are cool! But yes army building gets pricey!
