The United States is a lot safer compared to say England and France and the reason is mass immigration from the third world that's a fact and in England the place refusing to arrest rapists and murderers because they're afraid someone might call him a racist for doing their job in America if you rape a little teenage girl the police or arrest no matter what color your skin is or what stupid religion you follow

America has a population of over 300,000,000 people. The geographical size of the country is large and on top of that, the population is very spread out. Also, we have a lot of immigrants from shitty countries and (of course) don’t want to act like civilized human beings. So compare us to other developed countries, what’s the difference? The other countries have a waaayyy smaller population and they aren’t as spread out as we are. On top of that, the percentage of immigrants in those countries are waayy smaller compared to ours.

It mostly depends on the neighborhood. Also most murders are committed by someone the victim knows. Going in parks at night in large cities generally isn’t a good idea. If you stay in tourist areas it’s unlikely you’ll ever be in any real danger.

This is a good point. I moved out of an apartment complex earlier this year to an area about 45 mins outside of SLC because of a drug related drive-by. the same complex recently had a man kick in the door of one apartment to beat his wife to death with a crow bar and put his 13 year old in the hospital.
But i cant say whether the city i moved to is any more or less safe... i mean i've killed 2 black widows in the same spot by my porch this summer. Spooky.

As a citizen of the USA, I can tell you it varies greatly. Some places have different problems depending on location and local culture. The US has plenty of places, though, so there's bound to be someplace safe for you to stay at. Take caution, know your limits, know the place you're visiting, and don't do anything stupid and you'll be safe.

You can't just buy a gun from round the corner in romania tho, it's hard to get a real gun there, also population is way smaller, but robberies and murders happen everywhere around the globe

Further more when I went to court for my speeding ticket, someone was sent to prison for accumulating numerous traffic violations and driving while license was suspended; he got a year in prison. Generally speaking as a tourist or someone temporarily living in the USA, you're probably going to be even safer than the citizens. Targeting tourists isn't as big of a thing for criminals here in most areas.
However, making an American friend, especially one that can drive you around, is probably a smart idea. Our traffic is rather unforgiving for someone who isn't used to densely packed highways and aggressive drivers.

The opportunities, Hollywood, healthcare system, tourism, influence, etc cover America’s crime issues up. But this shouldn’t happen. We need to bring light to these issues and stop disregarding them. Tourists should generally not have any worries about visiting the country. It’s just the fundamental issues, violence, and local organized terrorism that makes America unsafe for select people.

The only thing I have to say is stay away from any "ghettos" or "Hoods" cause that's where most of the violent crimes happen. The term ghetto and hood are terms used to describe low income below the poverty line neighborhoods. These ghettos are where you'll find street gangs such as the bloods or the crips, or the Latin kings, or MS13, or the Italian mafia etc... and also where you'll find drug dealers and pimps making money from prostitutes. Yes, it is safe to live in the US. Contrary to popular belief, there isn’t a shooting every 5 minutes.
And no, having lots of guns doesn’t make you violent. I say this as someone who grew up around guns.

I live in the U.S.A. It's pretty safe in most places, most of the violence you see are in big cities, such as St. Louis, Detroit, or Chicago. Stay out of those areas, and you should be fine.

Crime in America is something for the citizens to worry about. If you’re a tourist you will generally be safe. Terrorism is the only thing most Tourists will encounter and even that is unlikely. But with that being said, you have to be smart when traveling to the states. People don’t target tourists in specific like in some parts of Mexico, but don’t go walking around at night by yourself. It would also be a good idea to have an American connection to help guide you

Crime correlates to region more then economic stability. Some of the safest nations with lowest crime are poor Asian and African countries, while the wealthiest nation on earth has relatively high crime.
USA has high crime when compared to most countries in the ''old world'', but USA has one of the lowest crime rates in the Americas, second lowest second only to Canada.
Highest crime rates on earth are in central and south America.

The problem w some of these stats is that they are not adjusted for population. Plus crime rates differ in certain areas of certain states. For example, NYC had a higher crime rate than Lake Placid, NY, which has a totally different demographic of people plus the population is WAY smaller than that of NYC

A friend of my grandfather went to Miami and was beaten up, robbed of his passport and money, the hospitals didn’t wanted to help him because he had no money and only for the helps from Italy were effective.
What do you say? Do you think it’s safe?
