I live in Greenwich and I knew immediately whereabouts this house/flat conversion place is. It’s a very well known building near Greenwich park. For London - Greenwich is one of the best kept secrets for a reasonable priced area that is quite central, well connected, with plenty of green spaces and fair spaced period flats/houses. If you’re not bothered about not living on a “SW” post code - this is the last frontier of where you can actually buy a reasonable size home in london. But beware - with the growing size of Canary Wharf, and the Elizabeth line now open - it’s ‘affordability’ won’t last long!

    • @TheFancyNancy

Tell me about it! Every time I see articles about Greenwich/Blackheath being the best place to buy for young families I cry on the inside. We’re crossing our fingers to buy in SE, hopefully closer to elephant and castle actually because we’d like to be on a tube line.

You might think you can stay there for two years, but we've been evicted every year no fault eviction. Landlords will be evicting everyone before the no fault evictions come through to get more rent in this market. Landlord? So they're renting? How are you allowed to put shelves up in a rented place here in London (ish - it's Greenwhich)????? That's normally a renting no-no.

Living room shelves were there when we moved in. Kitchen shelves, we had express permission to change them (as we didn’t like the previous ones) before signing the lease. 😊

She said interest rates are high. N tge US, rates are higher than they were a year ago, but a year ago they were historically, super low. They are still low now, but I believe they are going to increase even more, and historically they still are very low now. Is London's interest rates very different than the rates in the US? I figured they'd be very comparable.

The main picture should show the couple, not just the wife. It's very deceptive to show one person when it's two people (husband and wife). Financial realities for a single woman is very different than a married woman.
