    We have this pool and also found a hole when we started filling! We were lucky to have also found the hole and sealed it up. We contacted Best-way and filed a complaint. We just got word that they are shipping us a new liner. We won’t drain it this year but it’s good to know that we have a backup JIC.

    Nice video! Being perfectly level is nice, but not entirely necessary...Ours is probably 2-3 inches out of level from one end to the other but pool filled up fine and we're lovin it! Luckily we didn't have any holes. Also we fill ours all the way to the top seam. (and once our kids accidentally left the hose on until it overflowed!) Still no structural problems

      Hi! We hired someone to level the ground and they used 2 plywood boards total and cut them accordingly for all the legs. The smaller square boards are about 1’x1’ and then the leftover longer pieces were put under the Ubars.
      I’m glad I could help. 😉

    Great video. I have this pool in my garage right now, just waiting for our pad to get built. Could you tell me the full dimensions to the outside of the U poles. I know pool is 22x12 but how much extra size do I need for the pad. Thanks

    • @thepoolmom8464
      @thepoolmom8464  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the U poles extended the width is 14 feet. Something we learned after receiving the box. It’s actually listed towards the bottom of the box. It would’ve been nice if it was listed on the website when ordering. Also, make sure you leave room for the solar heater mat and the sand filter.
      When you say pad being built are you referring to a deck or some kind of platform?
      (FYI The instructions say not to put this pool on a deck or any kind of platform.)
      If you are referring to a concrete pad that’s different.
      This specific Bestway pool holds approx 6,000 gals of water and weighs approx 50,000 lbs when full.
      I hope this info is helpful. Good luck!

      Hi, ours is actually not level either. I have a video showing how one side is higher than the other. After filling it up we noticed the water level wasn’t the same. Water doesn’t lie…🤣
      We had someone help us make the ground level and thought it was but there is still a slight slope and higher on one end. We keep a close eye on the level and we haven’t had any issues.

    We got the same pool, got it all set up on Saturday and started filling it up, it also leaked!!! a pool guy told me to stop filling it up immediately, empty it and return it since they gave me warranty, we had to empty it out, and wasted probably about 1200-1500 gallons of water, I'm exchanging tomorrow! Now I don't know if I really want this pool anymore or if I should just get my money back and get the Intex pool the same seller is offering me, just a bit smaller 20ft x 10ft with grey liner, what I liked about this pool was the wood pattern and size, but my husband and I were really disappointed we had to disassemble it and didn't even get to enjoy it.

    • @thepoolmom8464
      @thepoolmom8464  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s disappointing for sure! This was actually our second time setting it up and filling it so we decided to just patch it if we could find the hole which we did. Our hole was pretty small and hasn’t given us any trouble since patching it.
      I love our pool and the size is great. I hope you will be able to enjoy a pool soon!
      Did you get yours from Costco also?

    • @hildagonzalez4669
      @hildagonzalez4669 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, but I think the person that sold it to is probably got it from there. Do you have a video that shows how you patched it? So, did you also emptied it to patch it? Or may I ask why it was the second time? Did you buy it at an LA area Costco? Probably same batch that came with this defect, it was in the same side too, we thought it was by the seam between the wall and the floor, bit we didn't know how to find where the leak was

    • @thepoolmom8464
      @thepoolmom8464  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hildagonzalez4669 we don’t have a video showing the patching but my husband did patch it with about a foot of water in the pool. The patches that came with the pool are made to apply under water.

    I just got done filling it up after 3 days of filling. After watching your video I was curious and looked around the pool. There are two spots where it is wet around the pool. Guess I'll be looking closer tomorrow. Was the hole visible once it was found? Also I see you have a million tiny bugs on the surface like me, but when I use the skimmer that came with it, it just pushes them out of the way. Have you found a fix? Better skimmer maybe? Thanks for the video!

      Hi! I actually just posted a pool update with the items we are using on a daily basis. We have the intex pool skimmer and it’s great!
      As far as finding the leak, the hole wasn’t visible since it was on the bottom of the liner but my husband was able to feel it when he was on his hands and knees.

    This will also be our first pool. Was this a simple plug and run electrically? How about the hoses, anything special needed? How is the filter and pump? Good enough for this size? Looking to make my own video as well to help others. Your video was the only one I found so thumbs up.

    • @thepoolmom8464
      @thepoolmom8464  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you bought the exact same pool from Costco it will come with all the hoses for the sand filter and solar mat. I did purchase that blue hose from Amazon that is helpful when you need to move more water than a garden hose can.
      The sand filter pump that comes with the pool does a good job for this size pool. Depending on your location and how often you swim you’ll need to do daily maintenance to keep the pool clean like vacuuming, brushing the walls and skimming the water etc.
      As far as plugging in the pump the instructions state not to use an extension cord. We hired an electrician to run power from our garage to an approved weather outlet.

    hello, nice work. i'm installing same pool for my sister and I'm putting blocks under u shaped bars and the poles. They are fairly thick blocks so it hard for me to move them. Can I ask you how far the bottom of U bars go out from the oval frame up top? Its going to be really hard for me to move the blocks once they are in. They are also about 4 inches thick so i'm going to have to dig into the ground. I don't know how I could dig them in and fill the pool at the same time. Any help is grealty appreciated. Also, once the pool fills do the straight legs move? Do you think its possible to lay the frame on floor, so i can get an idea as to where to put my 12x12 blocks for the straight legs?

    • @thepoolmom8464
      @thepoolmom8464  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to make sure the ubars are extended all the way, then you can put the blocks under them. Before you add any water you need to make sure the ground and blocks are completely level and that the pool is showing it’s level before putting water in it.
      Once you start the water you’ll need to keep an eye on the poles and adjust them if needed when filling. The straight poles should be straight and the ubars need to be extended all the way out so that the material is taught.
      The main thing is getting the ground and pool completely level. This pool weighs about 50,000 pounds once it’s 90% full and you don’t want that kind of pressure to be unbalanced.

    • @thepoolmom8464
      @thepoolmom8464  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No our pool did not lean when the water got higher. Make sure the ground is level and the poles are kept straight when adding water and that the ubars are extended out all the way so it can support the weight properly.
      How is your pool leaning?
