  • This is my full build of the Hasegawa X-29 experimental jet. I had a lot of fun building this unique subject. This is a pretty straight forward kit, and fit very well, though the decals were a bit more challenging.
    There are several documentaries on TH-cam about the plane, but I found this talk with one of the pilots to be exceptionally good:

    This happens to be the first model kit I'll ever build, so I'm SO glad you made this video!! Especially with all the tips and pointers!!

      I'm really glad this will help you! Overall, the fit was pretty good from what I remember. The most challenging part was the decals for me, I cut some of them in half to help me apply. I tried to show in the video the different things I did. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! If I can help, I will.

      Thanks brother! Super kind of you to do so. I had a step by step series so I understand why some of my subs would not watch the full thing, I wanted to put it out so that anyone new could see everything in full. I always enjoy watching your content, and refer back to some of the tips you show so looking forward to what you have coming in the future also!

    What glue do you use/recommend by the way?

    • @joekmodels
      @joekmodels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My go to is Tamiya extra thin because I can put the pieces in place and run a thin application over the part. It's so thin in gets into the gap and using capillary action bonds the two. I do use regular cement on bigger pieces like wings or if the fit isn't as good before I use filler for the gaps. These two work great with plastic, but you should also have CA (Superglue) for bonding non plastic parts like the metal balls i put up front to keep the plane from leaning on it's tail. Hope that helps!
