    Great video. I’ve done a couple myself. Hauling beets is my favorite job. It’s hard to explain but there’s nothing else like it. I’ve hauled to east grand, Oslo, ardoch, st Thomas, bathgate and Hamilton piling sites. East grand is my favorite place to haul in. Many times I’ve ran my 12 hour shift and then ran a few more hours because of someone not showing up. I could dig and haul beets everyday and never get tired of it. Thanks for bringing us along

    I used to live in the Red River Valley, south of Fargo, and worked for an implement dealer. Beet harvest is a very hectic and stressful time of the year. When it tains and the fields get muddy, it really can get nasty out there.

    Excellent drone video from over the piler. Someone suggested a video from the inside of a factory. That might be hard to arrange but here’s a little more simple idea…. Can you explain the life cycle of a beet from planting through harvest? Now, right before stockpile harvest, it would be interesting to folks who don’t know sugar beets to learn how they accumulate sugar through photosynthesis.

      That little pile? Those most likely will get hauled into East Grand Forks plant and then they will start all over for the main harvest beginning in Oct. Then you will see some major piles O Beets. Probably about three-fourish times wider & higher than those piles.

    Listening to your grandfather's classic rock! That's so unexpected. Do you also like guitars subjected to extreme tube amp distortion? (Which was absolutely NOT in the Doobie Bros wheelhouse.) Seek out Frijid Pink's cover of House of the Rising Sun. FP were one hit wonders and their cover of HotRS reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of 4.4.1970 so it predated the Doobies a little bit.
    Can you reveal how much it costs to play one of the Doobies hits in a video? Rick Beato has discussed the subject in some of his videos but he only says it will cause the video to be demonitized.

    Hello, I have question how do you determine the sugar content of your beets ? Because for example in Slovakia (Europe) we are doing samples on scales from every 4th truck randomly. Do you have something simular ? Thank you in advance for your answer.

    • @lisahenderson2993
      @lisahenderson2993 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say yes because in one clip he has a sample ticket in his hand that he didn’t talk about. I assume Crystal Sugar tests those samples.

  • @John-nc4bl

    If sugar beet, potatoes, some vegetable crops, and corn silage etc can be dumped into a truck while the harvester keeps going, there is no reason why soybeans or wheat cant be dumped into a semi while the combine continues to harvest the beans or the wheat.
    By eliminating the tractor and cart it means less augering of the grain which means less fines in the grain, less diesel used, less wear on machinery, less manpower required, less soil compaction of the soil since a tractor and cart dont have to drive back and forth between the combine and truck. This will mean higher profits.

    • @oneninerniner3427
      @oneninerniner3427 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@John-nc4bl the thing about grains & beans the combine hoppers take quite a bit longer to fill then they do with beets or vegetables. So the trucks would be continuously following the harvesters all around the fields to fill them. Making more soil compaction compared to a tractor and cart with big wheels or tracks. Also the trucks would be making tracks and ruts and getting stuck if it's soft. So instead they pull up to the combine only when it's full, instead of chasing the combines continuously. Does that make sense?

    • @DG-ne8iq
      @DG-ne8iq 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with "oneniner," if you don't want to compact the soil for direct seeding of wheat, never use a truck in the field: or we unload at the end of the field, especially for beet with a self-propelled hopper.
      In Europe, beet harvesting is often carried out in wet conditions, as the trucks would get bogged down and splash dirt on the asphalt road as they leave the field. In our country, there's no such thing as a reprimand 1500$- and recidivism 3000$)for the soil and the addictive mud.

  • @DG-ne8iq
    @DG-ne8iq 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hello Mitch, inconsistent with you: caterpillar tractor and twin, but trucks loaded in the field!!!!
    In France, no trucks in the fields: disrespect for compaction, and no mud on the asphalt (1500-3000$)
    About religion in our country in the previous video, I forgot to mention that in our country Catholic romain priests are forbidden to marry, just like you pastors.
    It's a big problem because we have sexist scandals by priests (violations etc...) that only discredits and repudiates religion catholic.
