Very well done review. You covered all aspects of the truck, and did a nice job on the road test. I appreciate the fact that you DID NOT spend a lot of time on the screen, or the tech features. I'm going to be driving the truck, not playing with the screen. A lot of reviewers spend a ridiculous amount of time on the tech screen. You also pointed out small details on the knobs, (like the rubber coating,) and did a nice job with the interior. I noticed you said the truck wasn't bouncy, like other pick ups. That's mainly due to the coil spring suspension in the back, as opposed to leaf springs. It really smooths out the ride. I see Ford is going this way also, on certain models. That's one of the biggest reasons I would consider this vehicle, and I think it's the nicest looking truck on the road. Overall, excellent review. Thank you.

Looks good :) and I have to agree in a world where a Toyota Corolla comes standard with LED headlights. It’s getting more and more ridiculous when much more expensive vehicles aren’t making the switch.
Halogens are better at melting snow and ice than LEDS. What's more, fleet/work truck buyers prefer halogens because they're cheaper to fix or replace.
All of the Big 3 start with halogens, but with the Big Horn, they're not an expensive option. I suspect with the 2023 refresh, they'll be standard.
Agreed. Kia is now making all their new vehicles standard with LED's. The upgraded headlights are projector LED's (which look nicer and provide more crisp light.)
The big 3 is falling behind. IF it wasn't for trucks they would be in trouble.
I would rather pay $30 to replace a halogen headlight than the $1000 to replace an led headlight

One thing to point out....the bighorn seats are a lot more comfortable than the Laramie edition. Have both and cant believe the difference. Big horn is best for comfort
100% agree on that. Its almost a deal breaker without the seat upgrade. Ive rented cars for long roadtrips with both.
Just to chime in, my friend who is ont he larger side ~ 300lbs or so -- uses the "can i ride, behind myself".. He was able to adjust the driving seat to a comfortable driving place, and then sit behind himself int he passenger- comfortably. One could very easy put a make shift mattress or something in the rear and sleep in it if they wanted.
I have a 2022 Ram Big Horn....I FREAKING LOVE IT! I customized mine a little with a bug deflector, window vents and running boards. And of course, lights and sirens.

You do know inflation is up to 7% right highest in 40 years? I’m guessing economics is not your strong suit. Prices go up because the dollar loses value each year because we print more and more. When vendors raise the price based on inflation the car manufacturers have to as well or will lose money and no more cars are made and we will ride horses. Trucks haven hundreds and hundreds of millions spent on R&D and thousands of employees to pay and insurance Etc… you don’t want be under paid so why should a company offering you a product that you want. If you can’t afford it then don’t get it. That’s how the world works.

100% the best value. Sure go for the Laramie if you got the money and budget. But if you intend to lift your truck and make it a rig? You don't want luxury shit. You want a Big horn. Plus it was a shock to me just how nice the Big horn trim is alone. The interior looks like a BMW interior.

I got plans on buying this truck soon dude.
I bought my 2020 RAM 1500 5.7L eTorque before the supply chain issues when selection was great and discounts were generous. Went with a low level Laramie trim with 8.4" screen (I like knobs), versatile bench front seat (rare), all LED lighting, heated and vented front seats, heated steering wheel, and NO sunroof. Got a good price and about $10,000 in discounts and negotiations (asked for side running boards and rear corner retractable step thrown in at the end). Best combo of luxury, value, and fewer gizmos to go wrong. Plus, I got the hydro blue two tone that is no longer offered and chrome bumpers. Looks stunning!

@@wilsonwiwi00 I get 16.4 mpg with 90% in town driving using 87 octane. On the highway I get about 20-21 mpg. Power delivery with the 5.7L eTorque is smooth and powerful all across the rev range with seamless shifting. I don't tow. This is significantly better than my F-150 V6 ecoboost.
@@drmitofit2673 do you have auto start/stop on or off? Should I get a ram I’d keep this off and would hope to get the MPGs you just mentioned above haha
I have a 5.7L with eTorque with stop/start always on. The eTorque restarts the engine in milliseconds after coming off the brakes, turns the wheel the first half turn overcoming inertia, and adds low end torque at low engine rpm making stop start seamless. I recommend keeping stop/start on and not idling for long periods in Park. It’s discouraging to see the calculated average mpg drop while idling in Park. Of all of the stop/start gasoline trucks, the RAM eTorque does it the best.
I ordered my 2022 Bighorn crew cab Night Edition in Flame Red with the LED PACKAGE, upgraded 8.4 display with NAV in August of 2021 and on December 7, 4 months to the day I took delivery and even traded in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara to get my truck. My dealer offered me more than what I paid for the Jeep and with 47K trade in I only have 12K left to finance with my payments being $273.13 a month!

There are other options worth more then led lights. Anyone that's ever driven in a great lakes lake effect snowstorm will tell you, led headlights do not get hot enough to keep the snow/slush off the lights. Visibility goes to zero in just a few highway miles. Leds are great in perfect conditions but rarely are there perfect conditions around the great lakes in the winter. Like with most things, give us choice. Good review.

Just got the Big Horn Ram 4X4 3.6 V6 two days ago. Wow. Only drove it a few miles because of work (I have a company assigned van M-F) but it’s great. Very smooth. The infotainment system is easy to set up and works great without taking up too much space. Highly recommended.

I love my 2020 3.6 after 50k miles. Lower maintenance costs compared to my last 2 hemi's.

I got the red, because I thought it would make other drivers see it better than the neutral colors my other vehicles have been. (I seem to have a target painted on my vehicles that draws other vehicles to it; I had an Expedition for 20 years, it got hit hard enough to put it into the shop 6 times, the other drivers' insurance paid each time (GET A DASHCAM! Also, I'm lucky that they all had insurance.)
It didn't work. When drivers don't look for other vehicles, the color doesn't matter. Been hit already. Had this truck for a year.

I bought a new 2019 ram Big Horn. Yes, it's got a hemi. Quad cab, but I will say it's a bit snug for any one over 5'6". However, overall it's a great truck. I've got around 42,000 miles and absolutely runs great. Plenty of power and towing ability plus it's very quiet ride. Gas mileage is constantly in the 17 - 20 mpg. This ram is my fourth one, and they just keep getting better. The only downside is that for whatever reason ram does not have the trade in or resale value. Too bad, cause they are nice trucks.
Well they are selling for 10k under sticker so it balances out.
Always a staple in my truck under the back seat, is the roll of toilet 🚽 paper 👍🏻

LED option on Bighorns have been restricted on the 22’s. It may be brought back but I couldn’t order them in November.

@@briandonald yeah just saw that too. Isn't much of a discount either. I would have liked to have the LED's and may add them later but I haven't really been disappointed with the halogens yet. I'd say they're better than the ones my 2017 had.

If you insist on going new then that’s your answer, but honestly the 2020 laramie is just a slightly upgraded big horn, for example you got the leather seats, cooling/heating, better sound system, Ram boxes standard, LED lights standard, and probably a couple of other things i missed, but the big horn has all the essentials and I don’t think you’d be missing out on anything significant if you go for it

A little off the beaten path but if I install 3.5 lift kit does it void my warranty
Most mods will void some of the manufacturer warranty and its why some shops or even aftermarket parts offer their own warranty that will cover the manufacture warranty, But also leveling kits will not effect the warranty usually and its why most people do a leveling kit cause its easy and cheaper compared to throwing away a lot of good hardware for a worst vehicle ride and more money burned that you could have used to buy something else.
I don't recommend a lift unless you are gonna be doing a lot of off-roading, lifts are not worth it unless you plan to overland it and this is coming from someone that grew up driving lifted trucks and jeeps and I am sure you were the same driving lifted vehicles its hard to say good buy to the height and cool factor

The 2022 Lonestar 3.6 etorque 6.4 bed quad cab has to be the bounciest or roughest riding truck out there for a 1500 ton. Should of taken it on the highway before buying, the gas struts are very stiff and why don't these guys show you a test drive on a bumpy road all these reviews are on smooth roads? Highway mileage is between 21.8 - 22 mpg so why not get a Hemi the V6 to me is just average mileage for a etorque engine where is the upgrade in mpg? Not recommended to buy my bro in law has a V8 2021 Silverado that gets the same mileage as my V6 etorque. Can anyone explain how the Ram is still the best choice?
The Etorque isn't for mileage, it's for performance. It adds (on the V6) 90 ft/lbs of torque under mild to strong acceleration up to about 1500rpm, when the engine itself starts to come alive.
I've had several 1/2 ton trucks in the past, and the 2022 Ram 1500 with coil springs is a very noticeable difference in ride quality.
As for mileage, my V6 gets 22+mpg in mixed driving, but I'm a conservative driver. On the highway, I actually get 24+mpg.
Of course, every driver is different, so YMMV.

Picked up Laramie 4WD with level B, bed protection, and 20in wheel pkg (hate them actually) for MSRP of this bighorn truck......had 21 gm trucks and still feel the GM is a better built truck overall though.....

I have the 20" rims, and I'd much rather have the 18s.
The ride quality is better with the 18s, though the 20s are supposed to handle better, and they fill the wheel well a little better (big whoop!).
To be fair, though, the coil springs do a very good job with ride quality.
