Played there many times. It was a total dive. I remember a rat running over my foot in the basement mens room. The tiny dressing rooms were right behing the stage with nothing separating them but a thin piece of plywwod covered with rock star signatures and grafiti. Trying to tune my bass while another band was on stage was nearly impossible. Best Rock & Roll experience of my life!
I had so Many Good Times there. Hilly ran the show. Me and friends took bus to NYC from Boston. Thursday afternoon til Sunday . we would sleep in stripped cars, with friends or at the Chelsea if we had Cash. 1974 -1986
I went into the shop where CBGB used to be in 2017. They’ve actually kept a lot of the graffiti and stickers on certain walls in there which is really cool. I was happy to see that. The wall at 0:38 was saved and I took some pics in front of it.
Yes it was awesome! I even touched the walls where they preserved the graffiti and it felt amazing , like I was there with everyone. It’s amazing how some places can be felt by others who like me who never experienced it. My mom actually went to a show at CBGB with her friend in the late 80’s. I’m jealous lol
Just came from NY (I'm from PA) with friends and the main thing that blew my mind about seeing the place now, was how far back the place stretched. It always looked so cramped and small in the old videos of the Ramones and all the hardcore bands that played there.
I wish somebody would have saved and kept this original club running. CBs, on east coast, The freezer, the hole, Che Cafe out in the West and Gilman and the smell, classic punk venues.
Whoever had the presence of mind to take this video recording of this rock and roll historical establishment, thank you. However, the new clothing store that occupies this place now sells t-shirts for $200 and jackets for $400. The music that was played here was priceless.
Fuck me I would've loved to see a gig there. If only I was even alive then. I wish I could've seen Bad bRains as I've seen the recordings for that it seems FUCKING BADASS!
I spent 9 hours there once to see indecision and they played last and I had to sit through all these nothing band. And if you left had to pay again to get in so I just sat in the corner and prayed I did not have to take a dump
I forgot about the phone!!! Never forgot to say IM.WITH THE BAND to Hilly Remember his yellow construction helmet?? I tried my first Vodka Gimlet with a young English gentleman who later on became a successful artist, right there! CBGB holds lots of personal memories..I stopped by last Spring and it became some sort of chic clothing store for men.
No, two rest rooms. The one with doors and toilet paper is the ladies and the one with urinals is the guy's. No matter how old i get ill never forget the CBGB restrooms. Eeewww
This place should've been preserved for its importance to music.

I wish this wasn't filmed with a potato.
Nor by a potatoe. Real potatoes even stop shaking and moving. This fool does not.
Atrocious
Agreed, and the asshole films this historic venue for 7 minutes and we get 5 minutes of the shitters.
Better a potato than no potato at all.
Wasn't. It was a tomato

You're smart enough to KNOW that the floor you wete standing on is HISTORICAL!!

The restrooms always made my skin crawl. Just looking at this video brought it all back.
@@dariusburkeofficial “Like I was there with everyone”. LoL shut up you poser. Ugh, so lame. Tard.
I got to play there with my band Fence back in 1995. What a great sound in there WOW blew us away. Looks just like I remember it.
I hung out there from 76 to 83. Best shithole in NY! Loved it!

Thanks for putting this up its strange that more people havent found this video
Thank God Not sooner!! Any who watch this now are puking their guts out
well you could alwayd file for historical landmark. Because last time I check almost all te famous and nonfamous punk bands played here.
Too bad someone didn't buy the space back and turn it back into CBGB
hey theres still a chance
@@lowfatricemilk1860 yeah but now it’s apparently a boutique so the history is gone
that would have been Great !
The graffiti drenched walls could have been cut and sold at an auction.
@@UnitedSoundVideo Lol idk about that. The people who really appreciate it probably don’t have more than 3 cigarettes and a used syringe
somehow without 200 people crammed in there it looks sad it was like a pilgrimage for us back in the late 70's to ride up to NYC to go to CB's
My home from 1994 to 2005

Really wish the Smell discontinued their "Proof of vaccination required" BS
Well since I hung out at CBGBS I think I am safe against coronavirus
Lol
Amazing. Loved this footage. Thank you!
Lots of drugs were taken in that bathroom. Damn
I could still smell the bathrooms when watching this

All that history 💔😥🌹❤🎶🎵🎶
💘 Blondie has punk roots in CBGBs early days would of loved to been there in those heady drug fueled days of Rock"n" Roll🤘 👠🎤🎸🥁🎹🎱🎯⭐
Wish I coulda met Patty, wherever she is now.
ive always been curious as it seems so small..and that the entrance seemed have windows on each side that was covered with security doors ?
How sad. I never got to see it wahhh
Should be hallowed ground.
Ya think we could upscale this to 4k?
That would be fabulous, but unfortunately it was only 240k when I found it years ago.
This looks like a horror game
the 10 day café was a small verson of C,B,G,B's omfug
R.i.p
Wonder if the Videographer spotted a few "doodles" by BASQUIAT ?
The Art of Punk Music
looks like the entire place, or at least the lower level, is just one bathroom :)
Lots of room for the brain dead junkies to take a break from their shitty 2 powerchord music and snort more heroin.
No, two rest rooms. The one with doors and toilet paper is the ladies and the one with urinals is the guy's.
No matter how old i get ill never forget the CBGB restrooms. Eeewww
I pooped in there once in 1982. The rest rooms were exceptionally clean. Food poop 💩👍
Doyle said he wouldn't let his dog piss in that place, and I wouldn't either. It would be disrespectful to the dog, lol.
They probably all screwed the dog in the bathroom
Those kids piss in your mouth and you pay money for it

Brings back memories. What an absolutely glorious shithole.
