In this video we count down the top 5 darkest secrets / lore surrounding the chao garden. Many of you might not know this but the chao garden actually has some pretty creepy/scary elements to it if you look deep enough. This game covers secrets/lore from Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Shadow The Hedgehog.

Sonic Adventure 2 (Japanese: ソニックアドベンチャー2 Hepburn: Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for a Sega console and is a sequel to 1998's Sonic Adventure. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū Batoru?), with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The original game and content from Battle was released in high-definition on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October 2012. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in November 2012.
The game takes place after the events of its predecessing game: Sonic Adventure. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

@@Teon5072 I got いらず (irazu) as part of rat and other pest poisons, but I am not sure. I don't think it means goodbye, the most likely verb I have found is 要らず（いらず）which means to need or want. Irazu is a weird word to use, I'm surprised it's not くすり (medicine)、死ぬ飲み (death drink/drink of death)、or どく／どくやく(the actual word for poison).

This is clearly meant as a joke, which is made especially obvious at the part about the black chao egg in the egg carrier, but I'm still gonna point out why some bits of this are false because it makes me feel better anyway lmao. (I know this isn't serious though, so I don't mean to be the "no fun allowed" swatbot sort of personality of course lol. It's just that talking about the lore of Sonic canon is interesting to me anyway.)
1) When chao die, they go into a gray cocoon and disappear. Meaning they don't leave any bones behind. So the skulls can't be the remains of actual chao. So one may ask, what are they then? The answer: decorations/hats. If chao can create things like the statue (with blinking technology!) in the principal's office, they can create skulls that are modeled after chao, for a Halloween-themed sort of thing. Its exactly like those "octopus skeleton" Halloween decorations, seeing as how octo...pi? don't have skeletons in the first place.
2) The former point also debunks the notion that the lost chao in prison lane has killed anyone. The chao are always noted as being lost, so what must have happened is that the chao simply wandered in there and got confused until Tails found them. One thing to note is that the robots don't actually pay attention to the chao at all; they're all just focused on Tails.
3) It's heavily implied at the end of sa1 that Tikal & Chaos's magic resulted in the chao that were attacked (yes, _attacked,_ not killed, because again, no gray cocoons, & they were still implied to be looking around anyway) being summoned again after Super Sonic defeated Perfect Chaos. It's also worth noting that half of those chao are implied to be chao from the present day, aka from the station square garden... which yes, did technically get destroyed like the rest of the city, but then was quickly restored via the same magic, just off-screen.
4) This is implied to be the case due to a scene in the dark story of sa2, where Rouge brings Eggman & Shadow a newspaper clipping she found, explaining that Tails was awarded the yellow chaos emerald due to having saved station square (during the events of sa1). So the only way the people of station square could hold such an award ceremony for Tails is if station square was restored back to normal. SA2 doesn't take place too long after SA1, since everyone's still the same age, so station square couldn't have been rebuilt normally in that amount of time.
5) Also, it's implied (if not outright stated by the creators at some point I think???) that everyone - chao & humans alike - were evacuated from station square when Perfect Chaos started to invade. This is made clear by the cutscene of the city starting to flood. People start running and leaving their cars, and the water is never shown overtaking them. Instead, a brief time-skip sort of thing to later that day is shown. So no one died in sa1. Well... except for Pachacamac and his goons, that is. Chaos totally killed them, in defense of the chao and Tikal, of course (and himself, too, of course), so it was justified. Its also worth noting that its made clear it happened swiftly, so its not like Chaos tortured anyone, of course.
6) But its also true that this was only, like, say, half or three quarters of the knuckles tribe, and that at least a quarter of - if not half of - the knuckles tribe survived. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been possible for Knuckles to be born, because his direct line of lineage wouldn't have been alive to be able to reproduce. Sure, Tikal was still around, but she was trapped in the master emerald, and also never had any kids (it's worth noting she was 14 during that time anyway, and it goes without saying that most 14 year olds don't have kids... I mean I knew some when I was that age who did, but that's besides the point gbfvghdfbghf).
7) The reason the dark chao has "gravestones" all around is due to again, the sort of Halloween-type of aesthetic it has. Same reason there's bats that can be heard nearby. The pool has to be water that for some reason is (well, magically?) colored red (there doesn't seem to be any other possibility for it), and the reason I say it's water and not blood is because of the (in?)famous saying, blood is thicker than water; and that texture is very clearly not thick or opaque enough to be blood.
8) The Drago come from a different series, meaning a different universe, and thus don't have any correlation to what the chao are doing or how they are. Chao still appear in later games too, and they're still mentioned in Frontiers and in the twitter takeovers. They even appear in the only game (as of current) that came out after & takes place after Frontiers, aka The "Murder" (hehe) of Sonic the Hedgehog. It IS still super funny to think of the chao taking on some characteristics of the drago though, because of how cute the chao are and also how cursed the drago are. The drago look like if someone tried to recreate the chao in the Spore game, which come to think of it, I think I've actually seen potato quality footage of uploaded to youtube back in, like, the late 2000s or early 2010s or something.
Idk, I just wanted to say this because some other uploaders have actually taken these sort of things seriously, but that doesn't mean you've actually done anything wrong or anything like that, of course.
Considering the chao garden in Station Square is on an upper floor of the building, I'd like to think the odds of it being submerged are not guaranteed. Considering there is a skylight in that garden, if we can assume that skylight is with actual lighting then we can also assume that the garden is on the roof, offering the chao in that garden a good chance of survival.

There's a theory about the statue, if you go to the Chao Doctor, you can see that there's a liquid that has a dead chao symbol on it. The Black Market has it too, normally it's no big deal but the statue is alive, in the principal's office and has a mustache. The statue is the real principal and the principal we know turned him into a statue using the thing Black Market sold him.
Oh also the "principal" calls himself the chao doctor. That's just a translation error but it kind of confirms the theory that the new principal used to be the chao doctor.

Phantasy Star Universe was an acquired taste. It got way better once it reached the PSP with Phantasy Star Portable 2 and its sequel Infinity. It was cool to play PSU in the PC alongside PSO players though but I'd be lying if I said it was always a "fun" game. Part of the problem had to do with the way the servers were run and the exclusives the Xbox 360 users got (which was separate from the PC and PS2 players) Like video recording, voice chatting, frequent updates and early access to the expansion (Ambition of the Illiminus) on the Xbox version. The subscription system was terrible on the US side as well. Capture cards weren't really a thing back then so it was difficult to get good footage of your sessions. I used to use a DVD recorder, VCR, it was that or nothing at all. Marketing for the game didn't help much either. We were told that it was going to tie into the events of Phatasy Star Online, which it didnt until much later with the PSP games. Also, PSU was one of those games that came with high expectations from many who played PSO on the Dreamcast and other platforms. Way off topic for a comment, sorry.

I thought you'd mention some of the creepy sruff chao sometimes draw. They're able to draw a skull and even a head/cocoon surrounded by flowers. (I can't tell what it's supposed to be)
The cocoon is the thing that appears when Chao reincarnate. They make the ring of flowers as well.

Maybe the possible reason why the cell is guarded is so the wealthy celebrity doesn't just go and save the chao for fear of the robots and also why we need to find this chao in the first place because Sonic and his friends have the power to destroy robots.

Its actually a white cocoon when they die for good after abusing them. Pink cocoon is when they reincarnate after treating them well but I think its still obvious the chao that got kicked by the echidnas are not dead and just unconscious since they aren't going into cocoons and vanishing. Besides even if those chao were already on the very last days of their life they only got kicked a few times so they would have probably just reincarnated anyway since it takes a lot of none stop abuse to make a chao unhappy to that it dies when it reaches the end of its life. A few measly kicks isn't gonna be enough to make them unhappy and die.
On top of that if all of those Chao died in the past with no way of them coming back or reproducing then how does one explain how they are still around in the present day as pets?

I'm gonna have to argue with your claim the Chao that were harmed by Tikal's father and his army, in a greedy pursuit of power, were murdered. If a huge amount of years between then and now, is a factor why you claim that, please remember, Chao can potentially reincarnate after death. And if you want to blame my claims as invalid due to them not being cared for to boost their happiness to enable reincarnation, keep in mind, that Cream's Chao friend "Cheese" is constantly abused by Cream in battles, using them as a weapon, due to her inexperience in combat. And Cheese still lives. Furthermore, we don't see what happens in Tikal's time period, after she seals herself and Chaos within the Master Emerald. So, it's not right to claim absolutely nobody came to take care of those Chao after that. Furthermore, about Chaos flooding the Chao Garden upon becoming Perfect Chaos in the current era, we don't know where exactly the Station Square Chao Garden is. We just know you need to use an elevator in the hotel to get there. So, if it's at the top of the building, it's possible the Chao Garden drifted away to safety. And if it's below ground, it's possible the water Chaos used for flooding Station Square, might have blown right over it, missing them entirely. You have to keep in mind, that Chaos' anger towards living things, was feelings of vengeance, for their Chao people being harmed in Tikal's father's greed for power. Also, here's a little known fact to among the Sonic fanbase: Chaos themself is a Chao. Only in the Japanese version of SA1, does Chaos make Chao noises. That sound clip being assigned to Chaos 0 was completely axed in the International version of the game, possibly to make them appear more threatening, since Eggman refers to Chaos as "the God of Destruction" early in the game. As such, SEGA when making the International version of SA1, I think replaced that soundclip being assigned to Chaos, with a more watery sound. (It's been like forever since I played SA1.) That's not the only audio change between JP SA1 and International SA1. In the Japanese version, upon learning Knuckles got fooled by Eggman again, Sonic is allot more harsh to Knuckles for that, saying: "Are you dim-witted or what?" basically calling Knuckles a deadbrained fool. That voice clip was replaced in the International version, with something less harsh but still insulting Knuckles for being fooled by Eggman again. I don't entirely though remember what voice clip they used for replacing it, as it's been a really long time since I played through SA1. I get you made this video for Halloween, but, I'm a stickler for "making right" of things, and am a lore-obsessed person when it comes to games, so I tend to not only write very long messages with my comments online (and sometimes normal talking irl, to the point my family has zero patience for whenever I'm about to speak even a slightly long explanation, forcing me to need to cut to the point of what I'm saying, almost instantly), but also whenever I see something that appears or sounds wrong, I don't usually let it slide and corrects that when I can. I have nothing against you for this video, I just hate it when there's something "wrong" going on or present. It's not easy to find a number of dark secrets of the Chao Garden, given SEGA tried to make it a super happy place mostly, so, I respect you for trying. Though, I can state one dark secret of the Chao Garden you did not mention: If I remember right, there's a Chao-shaped cage in the Dark Garden of Sonic Adventure 2, that is hung from a tree. The Dark Garden was spooky enough with it's "lake" being replaced with what appears to be a lake of blood. Perhaps that cage is what was used to murder those infinite number of Chao that have their skulls buried in the Dark Garden.
The chao probably did die, they're completely motionless and soundless on the ground in front of the burning altar. I'm guessing their deaths was what caused Chaos, a mutated Chao himself, to become so ruthless and angered in the first place. I like your other points though. That chao cage in the dark garden is quite strange.
@@MechaKnuckles But chao flat out go into cocoons and vanish when they die....the chao that got kicked around by the echidnas didn't go into cocoons so they can't be dead they were probably just unconscious. Also Chao need to be abused quite a bit before they finally decide to die. Getting kicked a few times by the echidnas wasn't enough to make them die.

I never understood why Tikal's dad felt it was necessary to kick and trample the chao to get to the emeralds. Did the idiot really think they would be an issue? The chao are peaceful, tiny and clearly didn't care about the emeralds and neither did Chaos until the chao were getting stomped on which pissed him off resulting in him using them. Why did the chao need to live near the emerald shrine again? Even Tikal tells Chaos to take them to find somewhere else to be safe but Chaos is all "No I can't leave and take them somewhere else" but we don't get a proper explanation as to why Chaos couldn't leave and take them or why didn't Tikal take them someplace safe herself if Chaos couldn't leave?

me and a very close friend had an inside joke about the chao you say goodbye to are sent to a mcdonalds in the lost world level of SA1 (dont ask why it's there) and would get turned into chao burgers. i guess now we know what mcdonalds did with the rest of the chao (like the skull and blood)
