for me personally I prefer the ride series over the motogp series. I play them both and enjoy them both but I like the recognizable superbike racing aspect of the ride series more. if only milestone would give us a proper wsbk game already
@@benzene6598 I'm the current world champion of ride 2. What I say, goes. Moto gp is about celebrity. It's about the personalities. It's created by prior generations who were social people. Today, you're not social people. You're antisocial. You're a whole group of antisocial people playing games designed for social people. It's lunacy.
@@AmokCanuck Incorrect. MotoGP is designed to stop you from crashing. I literally have to try to crash in GP… oh aside from the front brake which is basically an ‘endo’ button. If you turn off all assists and aggressively crack the throttle at full lean in first gear… you MAY highside, but probably not.
They’re both made by the same devs lol. Unfortunately milestone is the only company making bike games. They desperately need competition to force improvements. Hopefully rims racing (being published by the same guys as tdu solar) is this.
Yeah I mention that's why they are similar in the video. RIMS does sound interesting, I actually got an advert for it when checking this video was okay!
"Unfortunately milestone is the only company making bike games." That is not "unfortunate." Unfortunate would be if there weren't any. "They desperately need competition to force improvements." They need competition like you need explosive diarrhoe. There ain't no forced improvements in a competitive environment and you don't need a competitive environment to improve your game.
@@worldhello1234 hate to break it to you man, but you don't seem to understand how this works. With no real competition, devs become complacent. If you have another studio putting out a game that exceeds yours, you're gonna want to do better with your next entry. That's just how this works.
Do they sell a simulator for these bike games? Like those ones they had in arcades. I would totally buy one. I don't have room for it in my one bedroom apartment but who needs a couch when you have a badass bike Sim
I can imagine the need, I'm usually a car game (sim) lover on which I get to use my Logitech g29 so I get some simulation, though not total Immersion, and I've not even played a bike game since PS3 days, but watched this vid to decide what bike game to buy, still waiting for Ride 4 to download and I've already thought, how do you go above playing with a controller on a bike game lol
@@semi_insomniac unfortunately I think the controller is the only option for now. Maybe if these bike games get more of a following then they will come out with some kind of bike Sim rig
Exactly, my thought. Always wanted one. Would be pure fun to race on. Nailing motorbike controls on keyboard or a controller is so hard compared to car racing games. Playing bike racing games is somewhat akin to flight simulation games. In car games, you only control the vehicle in a 2 dimensional plane. Accelerate, brake, and turn either ways. While bike racing games have so many more degrees of control. You can pitch forward or backwards for wheelie or extra speed/grip, you can roll/tilt to corner at high speeds, you rotate/yaw to turn at low speeds. Although, as far as I remember, I think the games combine the controls for tilt and turn for the sake of simplicity. And on top of this, you can manually shift gears. Moreover, getting accurate throttle and brake response from a controller trigger is so damn hard compared to pedals for car simulators and maybe an actual rollable throttle and lever for brakes in case of bikes. Finally, you can have independent front and rear braking opposed to just one brake control in cars. The games used to have the joint braking system just like in cars with front/rear bias adjustment. Unbelievably difficult if you want the full bike riding simulation experience using only a hand held controller. I used to play MotoGP '08(I feebly remember the year/version) using the Xbox controller on PC. I only used to do time trials and mini races lasting 3-5 laps while shifting manually(without clutch). God... It was so difficult just get a time on the board or finish a race. Nevertheless, had a great time. (I vaguely remember it had some Street racing components).Does anybody remember? Let me know if I am wrong.
I think it depends on what Kind of game you want. Variety=Ride. But real racing I mean like in real life you could go for MotoGP. But Ride is like Forza Motorsport with bikes.
moto gp is highly addictive imo, especially 21, damn this game has def too many improvements when it comes to physics, visuals and sounds. i haven't played ride 4 but played the whole ride serie, i think only good reason to play a 'ride' game its unique motorbikes, nakeds, commuters its like literally putting most of these casual bikes to a circuit and it makes you wonder. on the other hand, moto gp is such a damn full race simulation. you can feel the pump on your veins. when that suzuki gsxr ahead of you, you just push yourself to your limits to overtake him. since f1 sold to ea games, i no longer planning to buy any f1 game, the thing with gp is that milestone was the one who made it for years. that's why i keep playing it. they are the legend.
So you're refusing to play a pretty good game that you enjoy because it's from EA now? come on man, ya'll keep on fighting this stuff like it makes any difference, it's gaming, if you enjoy it and have fun playing it, then buy it, we shouldn't give a shit if it's a good game.. afterall, it's an hobby..
In two weeks I got 4 milestone games -ride 2 ,3 , 4 and Moto GP 19. My fav by a mile is Moto GP 19 . I find it very satisfying , the controls are absolutely perfect and racing is generally smooth while the the ride series can be fun I experienced lots of frustration with ride 4 and a bit with the previous even tho not as much
Ride 3 has a bug where TCS/AW/EB settings don’t apply unless you set them in the race. It makes the game feel like absolute sh!t. When you get in race, zero your settings, the game will feel completely different, from zero you can pick settings and they will apply, but it must be done after the flag drops.
Well, I'm the current world champion of ride 2. The ride series requires you to develop as a rider and bike tuner just like real life requires you to do. Moto gp is about celebrity. You build your character and your riding style. Your celebrity improves. They're different philosophy.
MotoGP 22 PREVIEW th-cam.com/video/ZOQfNyKuGsA/w-d-xo.html Hey all. So here's my versus, as promised. If we can get this to 420 likes I'll finish SnowRunner with the Don 71 on hard mode.
Not sure what is up with braking in Moto GP 22 on Xbox ... in reality, if you go at 50kmh and press the brakes at the max, it should stop almost instantly. In game the bike continues like nothing happen. What's up with that ? Do they think forcing you to crash means it is more realistic ?
Ok, I'm going to throw my 10 cents worth in. There shouldn't even be a comparison between the two, they are suppose to be two different games. MotoGP 21 is great, it hits the mark - a dedicated racing game. If you had compared Ride 3 to MotoGP 20 it is very apparent that they are two games with totally different goals. The dev's actually stuffed Ride 4. The fact that the question "Ride 4 vs MotoGP 21: Which is better?" is even being asked is testament to this (This is not a dig at the reviewer at all). We should be playing both as they should compliment each other, hardcore top level racing one day, hitting a sweet mountain road the next on your favorite customised ride. Don't get me wrong as a bike game Ride 4 is great and in regards to physics and graphics definitely a step above Ride 3. BUT that's where Ride 4 fails, I really wanted a newer better looking version of Ride 3 - a street bike game, customising bikes, street circuits aplenty and some road circuits to keep riders happy, every street bike you could think of. Long races on streets with stunning scenery. But now Ride 4 has turned into a game where we spend most of our time on racing circuits - pretty much a closed circuit racing game. Isn't this why MotoGP was made? Maybe they should call it RideGP 21 or MotoRide........I think that Ride 4 is now predominately a Road racing game, it is soooooooooooooo easy to upgrade the bikes and really there isn't even that many options, Ride 3 was all over this. So to answer the question which one is better, MotoGP 21 hands down! It is exactly what the title suggests, Ride 4 is trying to much to be a closed circuit racing game, yeah there's different modes but my point still stands. Street riders love customizing their bikes, fiddling, doing little bits and pieces, they have their favorite brands then hitting the backroads and doing the odd track day - Ride 3 had it, Ride 4 doesn't.
Valid points but ultimately these are two motorbike games and if you can only afford one it makes sense to choose. I'd still get Ride 4 personally but as you say they have different personalities. Hopefully my video gives people a better idea of what to expect.
I was upset they removed Mullholland drive as well, but ride 4 is a substantially better game than 3 was. Probably have a thousand hours in each. MotoGP series lost its way after 19, group of mates used to race every Friday night, MotoGP 20 was so bad at release that it literally ended race night, nobody wanted to play anymore. We been doing that for 10 years. I’ve gone back for several looks since, but it is very restrictive and lacks heavily on the realism/immersion front. Haven’t played 21, maybe it’s light years better, but nobody in the group is willing to bother with it aside from me, so I just skipped it. I think the biggest issue with the ride series is how unnecessarily convoluted and useless the menus are. I should be able to save a custom set for every bike, when I switch to a bike, it should have the custom leathers, helmet, livery combination I chose for that bike, I shouldn’t have to manually equip an entire new riding suit piece by piece when I take out a different bike. Too hard basket. Categories are too restrictive.. if I want to take out a 500pp street spec Aprillia RS 250 with my mates race spec 650pp Katana, this should be no issue. There are a great selection of 250 2 strokes, but half of them aren’t in the same performance class………… wtf, just make an ‘open’ class. Why is my minimum lap count at Nordschleife 3 laps….. surely 1 would be a great option given on some bikes I take out there a lap can be well over 10 minutes.. Simple things like this that they completely overlook. The biggest game changer for the motorbike genre will be a free roam map. Forza Horizon series is a huge hit for that reason alone. I know that scale is out of the question, but if I could head out on a map even 1/4 of that size with mates in a bike game, it would be a really great experience. I’d love to see playground games get a team like milestone and say… “put bikes on my map”. Anyway, sorry for bending your ear, your post was worth a chat, you clearly love the games 🤙
I purchased Moto GP 20 and hated it. Was so non responsive and boring. Could t believe it considering I'm riding a bike! Jumped on Ride 4and was immediately happy with the response to throttle and had a greater sensation of speed. Also preferred the engine sound. In a bend altering trajectory with throttle and brake is far far better in Ride and you feel the push of the bike under acceleration. I literally haven't playe Moto GP 20 since. Not sure how much better Moto GP 21 could be, but for now, Ride 4 has me content.
They are pretty similar handling wise, when you use comparable bikes. I think Ride 4 is best because there's much more to it. But maybe if MotoGP is noticeably cheaper it might be worth trying it!
@@ATribeCalledCars They’re night and day as far as handling goes, friend. The GP series split off on a tangent after 19, where the goal is to keep riders upright and make use of the tire wear system. This came at the cost of physics freedom. If you are not within their designated race line, the bike won’t give you full power, it retards the acceleration to stop you from crashing.. and this is with all pro settings, zero riding assists. It feels disgusting. If you are at full lean and crack 100% throttle, you don’t highside, you just loop out and lose time, that blows immersion for me. If they switch ride 5 to this physics system, I will be gutted. Bought every bike game since MotoGP 2, GP20 was my last GP game. They’re trying to make it a car game with bike skins.
@@samblack5313 I found I was able to be fast in both so definitely overlap, but I think you are right about differences. I found myself getting launch off the bike if I accelerate too early so not really noticed the power reduction. To be fair, bikes have TCS in real life so having no assists would be inaccurate anyway.
@@ATribeCalledCars This is true, I like to strip the game back and feel where it is at then add TCS/AW/EB to see/understand their effect. GP games end up with them all on 1 usually, as it is an expected game mechanic, as you say. I recently revisited 20, they have dialled it back since release, but you can still feel the game say "sorry buddy, you're not on the correct line so you can't accelerate hard right now", where Ride just says "you're probably gonna crash, but here's that 100% throttle you asked for".
Wanting to buy one of these as i just started riding I was hoping for a definitive answer from either the video or the comments but seems it's 50/50 across the board.
Well both games share a lot in common. Unless you are a big MotoGP fan, I think Ride 4's much wider selection of bikes and circuits proves more entertaining.
I have both, since buying motogp21 on my ps5 I havnt played ride4 since..motogp21 is alot more fun in my opinion and gameplay is much more realistic, if u enjoy doing "time attacks" lame then ride4 is for u..I like the competition of having other racers on the track
@@danielkach9551 how so? Im at the track pretty much monthly..in real life not no damn video game..thats what I meant with realistic. The way the bike reacts is very similar to real life...how many times have u been on a track my friend?!?
@@lorelei9884 have you ever riden on a track before?? I'm talking in real life, They did a fantastic job with the way the bike reacts to your every reaction.weither it's braking to hard shifting your body weight forward or back etc.etc...I put ride4 back in the other day and its fun don't get my wrong and the graphics are super clean but the fun factor definitely goes to motogp.
Yes, usually. It numbs the potential acceleration and therefore your start and exit speeds. But helping smooth out your riding can also also help. You have more control when everything is off basically.
Got them both and played. Honestly i like more Ride4. has a better career mode, more game modes than motogp21. In ride4 you will live the best experience growing up as rider and buying new bikes ,customizing. Reminds me a lot of Tourist throphy on ps2 and for the modes riding spirits on ps2. Motogp21 is a good game but lacks in something that makes him unic, or something new at least, more unlockables, i would like to see more hystorical bikes from 80's Lucky strike yamaha, pepsi suzuki. Is an exsample.. also some missing hystorical race tracks, Suzuka, eastern creek, paul richard etc. At the end Ride4 won!
Both games look great but rather than tweak it every year I wish the developer would put the money into producing a decent affordable bike controller. Other than that, I've just ordered RIDE 4 on the PS4 for my PS5 ( free upgrade to PS5 and it's cheaper than buying the PS5 version of the game ;-) ) cheers for the upload.
Yes, it's a shame there is no proper controller for bike games. It would really help with the immersion and might even be easier. Sneaky trick, I like it. I do know the free upgrade has a time limit, in case anyone else is reading this :)
Riding a bike in the Nordschielfe?? Sign me up. But I like MotoGP too so I'll take both. Also you forgot to mention about the vibrations in the ps5 controller for both games.
@@frankgallagher6510 Motogp 20 is so damn nice and rewarding when you get the hang of it. Ride 4 is the easier game definitely even with all assists off. I do prefer to be challenged so to me Ride 4 was a tad too forgiving and stiff even If it felt great in it's own way and is by no means bad, a few tweaks to handling and it would be just as cool and maybe cooler. That said, I want to push the bike and know that If I'm not careful now I will fly to hell which is something that I felt harder to achieve in Ride 4 since you are more glued to the track and brakes are supergood compared to GP20. It's exciting to race in GP20, every corner is a danger and you have to focus and enter correctly with angle, speed and lean. I ride Motogp 20 on pro settings with manual gear ON for best madness on the track and it takes a good 2 weeks to get decent I would say if you never played these racers before. Both games are great though and if this is your first bike game you're in for an amazing gaming experience seriously. If you have xbox game pass you get access to GP 20 there as well for free so could be an option to try GP 20 that way, think they still have 1 month for 1$ or something silly like that. Just remember you need a good controller with analog stick and 2 analog triggers on top, forget about racing well with a keyboard. I use an old xbox 360 controller on pc but it works great.
I think Ride 4 feels rewarding because the bikes get faster. It's more like Gran Turismo. Whereas in MotoGP 21 (and 22 is out now, I'm currently testing it) it's more about doing well in a season so different vibes. I still think Ride 4 is better value but 22 has bulked out a bit with R&D and the separate 2009 season mode.
Great review. In Ride 4 can you just pop in and out of tracks, race AI and choose bikes at will or are you forced to through steps before you can get to the good stuff? Not really interested in career mode and all that, just looking to have some fun.
Yeah you can do most stuff in single race or do the licence stuff in Career to have much more freedom. It's worth doing these licences anyway as they will help you improve your skill.
I'm the current world champion of ride 2 and I can tell you that fun leads to more gaming. Some tracks the riding is fun but the beginner AI isn't designed to be fun. Some tracks, the AI race off infront and you never see them. Some AI wack you and some teach you stuff. Developers aren't allowing you to opt out of some aspects. To become world champion you must beat me now.
I've never really played a racing game, but I like motorbikes so thought I'd give one of these a try. I bought ride 4 and now think it may have been a mistake. I find the game almost impossible to play or get good. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong it corners and videos haven't helped. I've been stuck at the 600cc euro section for weeks. Would GP21 be better for a beginners or am I going to be equally bad at both. I just find ride 4 very unforgiving for a beginner.
MotoGP 21 is similar in handling and control so probably no easier. I'm wondering if I should make a guide to these games. It took me a while to get up to speed but I'm not too bad now!
@@ATribeCalledCars a guide for beginners would be great. These games don't provide any kind of tutorial and are very unforgiving for guys who are new to racing games.
3rd person is much easier, if ever you were playing in rider helmet pov up to now. Also u can switch rider style which in rider pov makes a big difference, easier if less hanging out to the side. Plus lots of aids you can set on, lower ai etc. Time trials are a pain though, with auto reset at slightest off track etc.
@@K73ll14 It will click, concentrate on being smooth and deliberate with your controls. I reassign buttons so I have L2 as front brake and R2 as rear, this puts me on the bike mentally. I assign the right stick up as throttle. This gives me a good mental connection of controller to actual bike controls. Ride isn’t easy, but it is super rewarding once you get the physics. I play helmet cam, the feeling of hard braking and backing it in to a corner in ride 4 is the best of any bike game I’ve played.
Thanks for the video, all I needed to decide which bike game would be best fit for me, I've never bought a motorbike game before, decided ride 4 sounds more like my cup of tea, I'm no avid motor bike fan soo just want the fun of motor bikes, so no need for race seasons and engineers of motoGP, and the fact that Ride4 includes the nurburgring well that's it I'm sold lol
the only Problem with Ride 4 is that the cut down the Street Racing Tracks, Modes and the ammount of Bikes, just to resell them as overpriced DLCs. Ride 4 on Steam with all DLCs = 125€ (on Sale mind you)
The sense of speed in these games are not mentioned much, are they similar or which one makes it feel that you are going faster. Something I noticed when watching Moto GP 20 videos is that it feels like the bike is standing almost still in corners and since it's so much corners on these race tracks there was barely any speed. It looked like they were driving mopeds and I could come there with an electric scooter and overtake them all, boring in short. Is there a sense of great speed in these games now or is Ride 4 better for that?
The speed is definitely less in corners, partly because of the fact bikes have to lose more speed than race cars. It feels slow but it's accurate (this is how I justify what you're saying because I've noticed it too). However you can swap to the helmet view or anything except behind the bike and the sensation of speed improves dramatically. Especially when doing a road race, which Ride 4 has. For speed it's the best of the bunch.
@@ATribeCalledCars I understand that, that is why I still held off on buying these new games because they looked a bit dull. I still reinstall and play Moto GP 07 which for me have such an amazing sense of speed and just pure driving joy. To me I think they got it right, simulating reality to perfection does not always translate to the best gaming experience. Just an example from 07, ignore his poor riding th-cam.com/video/58Kr7JIYSTY/w-d-xo.html If you watch that for a bit and then go back and watch your comparison video you will probably ask yourself "what the hell are these developers doing, where is the sense of speed we are on motorcycles for Gods sake?" I think it's a shame, a game doesn't have to be slow and dull to be realistic, just my opinion. Moto GP 07 had some really tough sim settings also if you liked that type of riding. The guy in this video most likely have default forgiving vanilla settings and also not leaning his head forward to get even more speed. I just miss the old THQ Moto GP series, it feels like they really reset the series and they have been doing catch up since and are still not there. Thanks for the video man, nice to see both side by side like that.
@@ATribeCalledCars So I bought Motogp 19, 20, 21 and Ride 4. I can't stand what they done to the physics in GP 21, everything is dull. Slow feeling, shit brakes, no thrill or acceleration and heavy bikes when turning that constantly drift out if you don't ride in slowmotion. I play 10 minutes at a time then I go back to 20 which is an improvement of 19 and way better than 21. I feel the sound of the KTM RC16 in GP 20 and in 19 to be more pleasing and badass than the constant screaming in 21. Such a shame if this is the direction they take the game now. I have a blast in GP 20 but multiplayer is sadly dead.
@@messiahshow I'm the current world champion of ride 2. Your whole approach is from the wrong perspective. You tune to get a better ride. You must graduate to higher knowledge levels. The more knowledge the better the tuning the better the simulation becomes. The more you observe the more you learn the better the ride and tuning the more you're allowed to graduate etc... The higher the knowledge level the greater the rewards. You transfer the knowledge over to real life bike tuning. The manufacturers are so far out infront the human race is now dependent on gaming simulation just to get people up to date.
i actually find championship racing simulators way more fun than just pick a car whatever car , a track and race or drive around games. Like i prefer F1 and Race 07(with the real drivers and liveries) and games that have real championships in them that i can compete in, rather than just pick random car, random track and race a weekend or a random championship that doesnt exist. its why i wish theyd do a TOCA 4. So for me it would be Moto GP, just simply because its soley competition racing. Forza horizen i find kind of boring. But Forza motorsport or Race 07 fun.
Ride 4, obviously. The only problem I have is the AI(tbh ai is bad on MotoGP too) the ai sometimes just doesn't care whether you are on the track or not. It just punts you off the track. But I also had one of my most thrilling and adrenaline filled races in ride 4 compared to MotoGP. So yeah, it's kind of a mixed bag.

Moto gp is about building celebrity. Its for social people. Its about gossip and such. You quickly get too old but you've created a celebrity for yourself. You go on to be management or manufacturer.
Hi there. I know this is not related to this video, but since you are a car journalist I wanted to ask you for your opinion on electric cars. My wife and I are looking for new cars and we feel that any petrol or diesel car won't be worth much in 5 years time so it is time to make the switch. I have read a lot if reviews and it seems the Tesla Model3 is meant to be the best EV atm. Not sure about the price point though. What are your thoughts on this topic? Many thanks.
It's always nice to be asked, although most people end up ignoring me and buying an Audi lol. If I was going to have an EV (and I would be very tempted), the Model 3 would be my first choice. It goes the furthest, is more fun to drive than many people would have you believe, has access to the Supercharger network, rides well and is generally a really pleasant machine. It's not perfect, but then the pros outweigh the cons if you can get a good deal on finance or outright. I also like the Soul EV, Kona EV and E-Niro. If you can stomach a shorter range, the Mini EV and Honda E are also fun. But honestly, I would pick something with at least a 200-mile range if I was going EV and the Model 3 is big enough to be practical. Hopefully that helps a bit!
@@ATribeCalledCars Thanks! Yes that helped a lot. I will take a look at your other suggestions too. We live in Mallorca which is a small island, so range is not a huge issue. If we drive for more than 45min in any direction we end up in the ocean 😊 After watching some reviews Many seem to think that the Tesla3 is the one to get, but others such as the VW Golf are not far behind. The problem is that fir some reason Teslas are quite expensive here in Spain when compared to the UK for example. I am just not sure if a Tesla Model 3 is worth 60.000 Euros. Food for thought 🤔
@@TheInfantry98 There is no dealership in Mallorca. You have to hop on a ferry to Barcelona. There are currently three Tesla charging stations here. The local government is installing electric chargers everywhere though. They pushing hard for EVs. You can apply for grants, get exemptions and free parking. Not knowing anything much at all about bike racing, I actually learned a lot from Ride4. I started predicting some things based on my experience of the game... and these things ended up being verified from videos from the guys doing it for real. If a simulation can teach someone something fairly specific and in depth about a subject they know nothing about, I have to say that its winning in its purpose. I have both games incidentally, and I'm not saying anything against MotoGP21 from this - but Ride 4 has it for me.
Well I'm the current world champion of ride 2 and I also do ride 4 and there's thousands of things for you to learn and experience and explore in just 1 game. The AI shows you how to get around the track. They're close to the correct line around the track. You've got to be better than to get to be the world champion as I've done. One is "Gran Turismo" with motorcycles and the other one is "Fifa 2021" with motorcycles. The question "Which is better?" is pointless because that would imply the comparision made sense.
I love ride 4 due to its variety of bikes and MotoGP’s physics and different styles of riding but the bikes all look the same which isn’t a complaint sense it’s a MOTOGP which means MOTOGP bikes so I keep both games on my quick resume so if I get bored of one I switch 😂
It’s not even close, MotoGP put their physics system in the toilet when they decided to make it borderline impossible to crash. I understand why they did it, and what they’re trying to do. It will make for ‘better’ online racing due to people staying upright and therefore concentrating on their tire wear systems, etc.. BUT it took away what made the game amazing. MotoGP you can fully crack the throttle at full lean, in first gear, with TCS completely off, and not crash, the weird ‘loop out’ thing happens and you just lose time.. that’s not how 250hp prototypes work.
I just got off Ride 4 and the handling is ehh. MotoGP is for me. I can use both brakes while cornering. Try that on Ride and you slip and fall. I rewind more on Ride than MotoGP by far. But that's just me. Everyone's different. I ride a 2020 Ninjs 400 in real life.
i wouldn't sleep on the ps5 version, just for the adaptive triggers. you get throttle and brake feedback. it helps greatly when pushing the bike through corners and are even better for games like gt7

If you’re playing ride 3, I definitely recommend The Snake, it’s based off Mullholland drive in the US, and it is brilliant.unlike all the other road circuits they added, it’s wide and flowing without kerbs everywhere. Was gutted when they left it out of ride 4. Been playing since motogp2 and that is my favourite track of any bike game I’ve played.
@@samblack5313 well I'm the current world champion and tracks teach you stuff so it doesn't matter which track. The track is to teach you something. If its NOT there in the game then you already know what that circuit can teach you so they want you to move on to learn more stuff AND they make you go back to playing the old games. They deliberately force you to keep playing all their games.
@@dreyn7780 Current world champion of what? To teach me something?? the track is there to be enjoyed, I can race the same track 1000 times and find a new nuance every lap, if it gets stale, change class, change tires, especially a track that size, and especially against another rider with great racecraft. I wont go back to ride 3 because ride 4 physics are far superior. Just like I don't play MXGP 19 purely for the French track I love... 21 is a better game.
I’ve got both, moto gp 21 is the worst one, ride 4 is over rated but best of the 2. Moto gp 19 is my favourite bike game with 20 a close 2nd. I’m not that keen on 22 so haven’t bought 23 yet. I’ll wait until it’s cheap.
The reason I would never buy a motoGP game is the fact they release 1 every year. Same with Fifa and Formula 1. Your basically paying £5 a month for 1 game. Why not just release 1 game every 3 years and release updates for the new content? Money? 💰💸💲
I guess it is a requirement of the licence and to help boost/replicate the annual race season. But I agree, a bit more time in between would probably end up with better quality.
I don't think that's the case, there is strong overlap between the two and MotoGP's less fluid nature (rectified somewhat in MotoGP 22) is not necessarily more realistic. I would argue the opposite.
You can when you assume people want a motorbike game and these are your options. People have asked me the difference before so it's a thing. Although MotoGP 22 is looming as I've been playing the preview.
I hate the way modern racing games have a racing line trainer... I absolutely detest this. For god sake learn the track yourself through trial and error. Where's the fun in following the line? So shit.
even after watching this i cant decide which to buy lol, i also watched a ps4 pro v ps5 comparison video and could not really see any difference im graphics only fps, same with resident evil
Lol well I think Ride 4 will keep you busier, if that helps. And you're right, it's easier to see 30 to 60fps jump than 1080p to 4k although the latter can depend on the screen. Maybe flip a coin?
I don’t get why you’d compare a MotoGP game which are Grand Prix prototypes like F1, to Superbikes which are like touring cars, on Ride 4. It’s like comparing a Touring Car game with the latest F1 game 🤔. So of course there’s no NW200 or Macau etc in it 😂 it’s like expecting Le Mans in the F1 game.
Because most people who want a bike game might not be nerdy enough to know the difference. These are the two biggest bike games out (unless you include Rims Racing), so of course it's logical to say what you get in both. I prefer Ride 4 for various reasons.
@@ATribeCalledCars But then why call it a Superbike series when it isn’t? That’s then only going to misinform people? Nerdy ? Are you bloody serious? You know how many tens of millions watch MotoGP around the world? It’s not a niche fact so there’s no need to keep generalising
You do know what the definition of superbike is? Seems like you don't. And just because millions watch it does not mean it's common knowledge among billions of people. You severely overestimate people's knowledge of the motorsport.
@@ATribeCalledCars In that case, if you assume everyone watching thinks a Superbike is the same as a Grand Prix bike, then why would you tell them they’re right when they’re not. Hey everyone, just so you know F1 is the same as British Touring Cars….if that’s what you think, then you’re right, you’re a need if you say otherwise.
@@ATribeCalledCars You can have a generic term if you want. A Superbike, in the racing world at least, is something based on what you can buy from a dealership. Like a Honda Civic you see racing is based on what you can buy. A MotoGP bike is a racing thoroughbred like an F1 car… it’s not nerdy its fairly well known…but obviously some gamers won’t know if they’re not into it, so inform properly!
Well I get your point but ultimately if someone wants a bike game right now these are the main choices hence the comparison. But I did make it clear that one game had less development time and is newer.

@@edflowers9879 I've seen them players using controllers in esports MotoGP as well...

@@Response1980 The new TT came looks better than its predecessors, might be worth keeping an eye on.
@@ATribeCalledCars
They’re night and day as far as handling goes, friend.
@@ATribeCalledCars
This is true, I like to strip the game back and feel where it is at then add TCS/AW/EB to see/understand their effect.

Which career mode style is better when it comes to a sense of progression?
I think Ride 4 feels rewarding because the bikes get faster. It's more like Gran Turismo. Whereas in MotoGP 21 (and 22 is out now, I'm currently testing it) it's more about doing well in a season so different vibes. I still think Ride 4 is better value but 22 has bulked out a bit with R&D and the separate 2009 season mode.

Ride isn’t easy, but it is super rewarding once you get the physics. I play helmet cam, the feeling of hard braking and backing it in to a corner in ride 4 is the best of any bike game I’ve played.

Ride 4's YZF-R1 is not divided into 2009-2011, 2012-2014, they are different!
Which is more better control?? Ride 4 or moto gp?
MotoGP but barely define 'control' in these Death Simulator Games 😆
Want simulation? MotoGP Arcade? Ride
Hopefully you are enjoying it!
the only Problem with Ride 4 is that the cut down the Street Racing Tracks, Modes and the ammount of Bikes, just to resell them as overpriced DLCs.
Ride 4 on Steam with all DLCs = 125€ (on Sale mind you)

@OllieGamer94
Did you search for mods or community fixes like on nexus mods, for better handling?
I can't seem to change name in Rider 4...🤔
I can't remember trying that after the initial rider customisation. Nothing in any of the customisation menus?
i assume u use cracked version?
Just an example from 07, ignore his poor riding th-cam.com/video/58Kr7JIYSTY/w-d-xo.html If you watch that for a bit and then go back and watch your comparison video you will probably ask yourself "what the hell are these developers doing, where is the sense of speed we are on motorcycles for Gods sake?"
I think it's a shame, a game doesn't have to be slow and dull to be realistic, just my opinion.
Another great video 😃👌
Cheers, matey.
I just want a new Road Rash 😩
I'm surprised there's not been a Mad Max crossover. Road Rash was great.
Road Rash Jailbreak Remastered please
Ride 4, obviously. The only problem I have is the AI(tbh ai is bad on MotoGP too) the ai sometimes just doesn't care whether you are on the track or not. It just punts you off the track.
But I also had one of my most thrilling and adrenaline filled races in ride 4 compared to MotoGP. So yeah, it's kind of a mixed bag.
You're right about the AI, sometimes it's okay but I've definitely been punted into oblivion too many times. RiMS Racing has this issue too.
@@ATribeCalledCars motogp21 supposed to have better ai than 20 really, probably than r4 too then.
motogp 22 ai knows what you are doing they even stop overtaking if you slow down and stop them
yeah man. they don't respect block pass or you out breaking them on the inside.
they will crash you out.
I loved the new moto GP22 specially the nine historic mode
The historic mode is a cool mode, would like to see more of it in future.
I have a stupid question, do you use a controller for these games? Or steering wheel?
Controller. I'm not sure a steering wheel would work but if it did then I could see it being half decent.
@@ATribeCalledCars which game esiest to learn for newbies? bcs i try to play RIDE 4 after F1 and its rly unplayable for me, i just cant finish first training race at 1 hour lmao ;D

i feel like a missed opportunity would be to make career mode end up in moto gp and just combine the games
True true but I guess less profitable.
If we drive for more than 45min in any direction we end up in the ocean 😊
After watching some reviews Many seem to think that the Tesla3 is the one to get, but others such as the VW Golf are not far behind.
The problem is that fir some reason Teslas are quite expensive here in Spain when compared to the UK for example.
I am just not sure if a Tesla Model 3 is worth 60.000 Euros.
Food for thought 🤔
@@fsclips how many charging stations and Tesla dealerships you have on your island ?
@@TheInfantry98 There is no dealership in Mallorca. You have to hop on a ferry to Barcelona.
There are currently three Tesla charging stations here.
The local government is installing electric chargers everywhere though. They pushing hard for EVs. You can apply for grants, get exemptions and free parking.
The only thing I am not sure about is servicing the car. I don't think anyone on the island can do that.
Now I'm the current world champion, you have me as the leader.
Moto gp is about celebrity. It's A social people game.

There was a Superbike game and it was good.
Would've been a faster video.
Very hard contrast picture motogp21, in ride 4 realistic, normal contrast picture!
I think that's exactly it, good spot.
motogp 21 don't have ultrawide support for a month now
Ain't it a bid early to say which is better? Since MotorGP haven't been out that long.
Well it's what you get at launch and I've said it came later than Ride 4. Who knows what the future holds though.
It's fine, I just think it's a bit early. Specially with the modern way of launching a game, you know not finnish. So, to me, a comparison after a month, would be more fair imo
@@Drescher1984 Indeed that's true but that wouldn't discourage developers from launching a game unfinished.
I bought ride 4 and hated it. The game is hard, and not in a fun way, but in a frustrating "this is not worth the time and I've wasted my money because I don't want to play anymore" way. If you like playing the same track 50 times to have any hope to understand when to brake and when to turn, this game is for you.
Bike games are definitely a lot tougher than cars. Not everyone's cup of tea.
@@ATribeCalledCars It might be more people's cup of tea if they gave you any idea how to actually play the fucking game. This game is an utter failure in getting new players up to speed. It looks like they expect people to learn exclusively by trial and error and guess work.
@@artistryartistry7239 Oh yeah some sort of better tutorial would be great. I know what you mean! The assists help a bit but the learning curve can be brutal.
I feel like this as time goes by. I just got off of Ride 4 just to go back to GP20. Is 21 better and does the game keep up with stats throughout your career?
@@sambeezy007 I've just started playing MotoGP 22 (preview going live soon). 21 is incrementally better, but I always find missing a year usually feels like the best idea. One is "Gran Turismo" with motorcycles and the other one is "Fifa 2021" with motorcycles. The question "Which is better?" is pointless because that would imply the comparision made sense.
Btw what ever happened to Superbike games?
Still got my SBX K special edition on 360, think the guys who made ride and MotoGP should ditch ride and make another super bike game
Two different games with two different target groups. How many Apples do you want to compare to orange? 🤔
Well I was torn between both so I disagree. They are motorbike racers to many people. Hence the video.
the real question is.. can i do a pop a wheelie in both of those games?
Yes
Ride 4 is amazing
Agreed, great racing game.
I have motogp21 and i want ride 4 too on my ps5, isle of man tt ride on the edge 2 is awesome too
I love ride 4 due to its variety of bikes and MotoGP’s physics and different styles of riding but the bikes all look the same which isn’t a complaint sense it’s a MOTOGP which means MOTOGP bikes so I keep both games on my quick resume so if I get bored of one I switch 😂
I have the MotoGP 22 preview so we'll see...

Because is different sports , bikes , rules and tracks , is like saying why they do 2 games gt3 and f1 , both cars game but both 180 degree different
Ride 4 is better than moto go 22 and 21 apart from no water spray coming from tyres on ride 4 good game

i wouldn't sleep on the ps5 version, just for the adaptive triggers. you get throttle and brake feedback. it helps greatly when pushing the bike through corners and are even better for games like gt7

@@samblack5313 well I'm the current world champion and tracks teach you stuff so it doesn't matter which track.

Wait rims racing
I'm waiting on the full code, I had issues with the preview version. But yeah maybe it will be a contender.
Funny thing: R4 has still players in multi, unlike MotoGP21 and MotoGP22 which has DEAD MULTIPLAYER

Ride 4 is an arcade sim but motogp is a pure sim cant really compare the two
I don't think that's the case, there is strong overlap between the two and MotoGP's less fluid nature (rectified somewhat in MotoGP 22) is not necessarily more realistic. I would argue the opposite.
RIDE 4 is more dynamic in nature
You really cant compare the two. Motogp happens to be my game....it is a niche game for motogp fans.

@@ATribeCalledCars You can have a generic term if you want. A Superbike, in the racing world at least, is something based on what you can buy from a dealership.
