      You're very welcome. I just purchased 3 100 ah Batts for the trolling motor over the winter. The 50ahs were doing great but what can I say, I'm a sucker for more power.

    Hi there thanks for sharing your experience. Like many here I am considering the switch, in my case I run a 24v trolling motor, my days out are less than 8 hours but I do fish some heavy current. After my research I think IONIC is a fair bet, the last thing I am considering is if 2x 50 amps or if I will repent and wish I have more juice and should just go 2x 100amp overkill? Thanks again for sharing!

      The 50s are awesome. I am not sponcored by them or anything. I think they are a good bang for the buck. I have fished for over 14 hours at a time and i have not killed them yet. I may do a quick follow up review after using them on tour.

    Why do you use 3- 12 volt for the trolling motor instead of one 36 volt?

    • @turboss08
      @turboss08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because if your one 36v goes out, you're screwed and they're really expensive. If one of your 12v goes out, you can replace just one cheaper battery. Also - if a 12v LiFePO4 goes out, you could throw an AGM or SLA into its place temporarily in a pinch. If you went with 36v batteries, always run more than one.

    Great video my man pulling the trigger this week on the ionic batteries and charger still undecided on the 50AH or the 100Ah. What's your opinion

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 50s work beautiful for most people. I recently switched over to the 100s for my trolling motor. But thats because I fish 1000 islands and alot of high current and wind upstate NY. Its a good peice of mind for multi day events and being on the road always worried about getting an outlet. I also have a stealth 1 charger incase I need the extra juice. Alot of people are running power pole charge now.

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a small 32ah NMC Lithium battery solely for 360 and livescope. Isolated power prevents any interference for power sensitive sonar components like 360 and livescope. Other advantages for isolating power as well.

    So I have your same battery, 12V 125Ah. Do you also use this battery as your cranking? I just installed mine, haven't used it on the water yet but super excited. As long as the lithium is not completely dead, I heard your outboard alternator will not fry it. Have you heard the same? I also bought the same battery charger.

    Thanks for sharing this info, I was thinking of buying some of these. Do you still recommend the 3x50watt hours for the trolling motor?? as for the bigger one it's the 125 with the heater or without the heater?

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im glad it was helpful. I have been running my 50ah batteries hard and never killed them once. They really are phoniminal. As for the 125 with the heater option, lithium Batteries do not like cold. (Under 32 degrees) The chemicals often do not react/function which is not good for a batt. The heater will help protect your investment if you fish very cold weather. So depending on where you live and how you store your boat, you should consider taking Lithiums inside for climate under 32 degrees. That being said, I do not have the heater on mine. I figure, the other 3 dont have heaters so 🤷‍♂️

      @@dktourfishing don't bother with the heated battery, it doesn't work as it's supposed to. I have had 2 side by side, one with the heater and one without. In cold temperature the one without will stop charging like it's supposed to and start charging when it warms up. The heated one is supposed to direct the voltage to the heater and warm up the battery before it starts charging. With the Bluetooth I watched it start charging then briefly would discharge (heater on) but would go right back to charging and potentially damaging the battery. This would continue to cycle every minute or so, charging-standby-discharging-standby- charging etc. I'm not convinced that they have the BMS set up properly and would avoid the heated version.

    Heard good things about Ionic but they were 35% more when I compared them. Ionics have a fancy battery app.
    I wish the Amped Outdoor lithiums I bought had that feature but I didn't want to pay 35% more for it.

    • @dktourfishing

      It is also important to look a look at the warranty, and you will see how they are priced accordingly on the market. Amepd is cheeper but warranty is 2-3 years, Ionic is 5 years, other more expensive options are 10 years..

    If they are good for 10 years why is there only 5 year warranty? At least something closer. Dakota lithium have 11 year warranty.

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never made a specific claim that they last for 10 years. Neither has the company. I am only sharing with you my knowledge and personal experience. I have done extensive research on Lithium Batteries and the options on the market. I called Ionic personally and asked them why their Batteries are significantly cheeper than some of the competitors. Duration of Warranty has a big variable effect of how Batteries are priced. Dakotas 100ah retails at over $2500 while Ionics 125ah is well over 1000 dollars less. If you look at other brands like Amped. They offer even cheeper Batteries but warranty is only 2-3 years. See how the pattern works? I am comfortable with the price of the Ionics esp because of the extremely accurate bluetooh app. Anyone who i have recommended these batteries to have been very happy. And as for me. I fish on a high competitive level. I have had these in the thickest weeds and strongest current. I often fish for over 12 hours a day and can not kill these batteries. I am not sponsored by Ionic. I am just helping you guys out. If you have the money for batteries with 11 year warranty, maybe you should consider going for it. I dont see myself using the same batteries for 11 years.

    Lithiums are SO much lighter than AGM or SLA but ... and your wallet will so much lighter too (or maybe completely empty).
    The 12 volt 100Ah and 125ah run from $1000 to $1200 (each).

    • @Adrenaline_Dice
      @Adrenaline_Dice 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but my AGM battery i was using. The big ole full throttles. They were almost 500 a peice. And i have killed both of them on lake Champlain while on the water. Couldn't even start my boat over. They cost me the same as one 34 pound battery that i cant ever kill. After conceptualizing this, its not a waste of money. Its more of a save. IMO
