After seeing this vid, whenever I buy a new guitar and im handing my card to the sales guy, I always say "the cards here Dave" with and English accent.
Now that I think about it, this would have been perfect for MTV. Like if he was always this character he could have had his own show before Ozzy. Not to say Ozzy's wasn't good I grew up on the Osbournes, but this is exactly what MTV was looking for at that time.

Dont know if u realise but He was soon blown out of the park by guys like Nuno, and Imo both Marty and Jasons solo guitar albums are better then Yngwies, Main reason i put Yngwie so high up is because of his classical training and how well he can perform with an Orchestra.

Nuno Bettercourt didn't blow Yngwie "out of the park" - he had his own style, but Malmsteen is still as good today as he was in the 1980's, brilliant alternate picking that is just as fast and clean as anything by Nuno Betterncourt, Marty Friedman, or Jason Becker. Of course, he's no Shawn Lane or Allan Holdsworth! But that's entirely different style and approach all together.

While that street (and the church you see briefly, behind his car at the beginning) are about the same ..the surrounding area has been/is ..been/under new construction :) As for the guitar he bought: legend has it, it wasn't 'original' (shall we say). Classic Denmark street 'sale' ;-)

They said, he got sold a fake :) Usual story, Andy's (guitar store) got suckered into buying a fake (probably spotted by the on site luthier - after the sale). They then stuck it in the shop, hoping it would still sell. Then, along came a Rock Star looking for a Strat ...
@@Moodymongul I´m not opposing the possibility the store was like that. But I highly doubt they would fool someone like Yngwie who had worked at a vintage guitar shop in his hometown and is famous for his love of vintage strats.

It would be interesting to know if Yngwie got it examined (at some point) by a properly trained Fender appraiser (someone far hard to fool).

1:52 It came out to the equivalent of $6000. The 3500 was probably in British Pounds, which with the exchange rate at the time came out to 6000 USD.
According to the luthier of the time of yngwie he was anarchic!!lol You will find his comment on another youtube video.
