I saw the FRL version of this and it looked much better. Imo the biggest thing holding this board back at least aesthetically is the non-staggered f row
I like the design of the board, visually. Most of the full custom boards I build for personal use are all-in around the price of this thing, so pricing kinda tracks, too (those keycap mods are poop dookie tho). You tried building it without the foams yet to see how it behaves?
They missed the mark by a long shot, compared to basically everything on the market rn. 350 for this generic sounding foam filled keeb, with cramped layout, no thanks. Especially coming from a company that probably has enough money to just produce it, at least at a limited run. I'm not indulging anymore companies with group buys, the companies that do group buy should become less, not more!
Another good review and the board is a cool idea, but IMO way overpriced for that sound profile. I like thock, but that sounds closer to a budget board than a Jelly Epoch.
Yeah I think the best thing to do is think of it as commissioning someone to do the assembly for you. For a DIY build a QK is better. But also it’s been a while since I’ve used OG Jelly Epoch but doesn’t every budget board sound like the Jelly Epoch now? I don’t remember anything special about it other than it being first to use PE foam on a large scale
this looks super sick honestly but that F row looks super awkward man. I really like the approach of prebuilt customs but I wish these guys would try more adventurous mounting and layouts like top mount and southpaw layouts.
The spacebar still sounds a bit weak in comparison to the other mods and once again... it's the mounting point right on the spacebar that's to blame. I hope more designers realize and stop doing that. $350 (375 shipped to CONUS) isn't horrible for a premium board and this one does feature a lot of aesthetic features. DCS Genesis would be a good replacement keycap set if you're not into a "PAA SEE" key. 🤣
Big stable brands like Razer have started to catch up with the quality and features. If smaller-scale manufacturers keep relying on Group Buy, they will have to deal with serious competitive problems soon.
The unique look of the keyboard is interesting. But that is quite the upcharge for it being fully built. For that price you would expect the stabilizers to be already tuned. Seems like an unusually biased video because on paper this is a horrible price after all the other budget group buys came out earlier
The stabilizers are tuned just that shift needed help. And I said I don’t like the frow, the group buy, the sound, and I wouldn’t buy it lol. What else did you want me to say
Those chinese companies should stop slapping their logos front and center. When will they learn that their company names suck and nobody wants to see them written anywhere
bad F-row layout. The best f-row without a gap is definitely the hex.4b, which would be even better if it was F13 layout. F-row and numbers should never line up, it's just so difficult to use, and even worse, ugly I don't understand why you would spend such money on purpose, for something to look bad, but I guess that's some people’s style, and I can respect that
@@AndyVNguyen damn thats tough lol i got my ano navy with POM plate but I was really tempted to get the e yellow to throw inks on and have a copium 65% korn
Of all the pe foam board configurations, fr4 + pe has always been my favorite.
It slaps really hard. Good plate for that more rounded sound
@@AndyVNguyen is it just me or fr4 also has that "dry" and "crisp" sound, similar to a top mount?

Yeah I thought it was standard tkl at first but this layout is pretty busy
This will be the start of modular keyboards. Another great video!
My friend was doing that with fr4 boards but he gave up. It was a modular macropad with oled
Very interesting! Thanks for doing a vid on this one!

What is the best ISO + hotswap keyboard that I can actually buy?
Nice vid mate
Is this equivalent to black ink thocky?

I can't remember but I don't think Jelly didn't sound as good without the PE foam.
with the F row not spaced out it looks like a wonky FRL
Chunky frl
This board is so charming haha
I just like the colors and the blockiness lol
this looks super sick honestly but that F row looks super awkward man. I really like the approach of prebuilt customs but I wish these guys would try more adventurous mounting and layouts like top mount and southpaw layouts.
Yeah I was like is this a compact 75?? I was too focused on the pretty colors lol
@@AndyVNguyen the colors definitely nice for sure. but that layout just aint it

Yeah I often find myself removing that mounting to improve sound and it makes a huge difference. The price isn’t horrible, just wish it wasn’t GB

Iqunix isn’t small imo. They even make computer cases lol. But yes the smaller ones are gonna have a tough time
I remember trying mt3 as a compromise between Cherry and sa. I like the deep sa sound. And... Nope. I hated the feel. Cherry all the way
You’ve seen the light
Weird layout, great video 🎉
Andy is pumbing out videos
Plumbing is an interesting choice of words here but yes I am!! Lol
MERKA!!!
there's definitely a market amongst normies for this.
The back looks great but man that design at the front is not it.
$350? wtf?

oh jesus christ the sound is so good. (second!!!!!!)
I do not like how that sounds… very closed off and almost claustrophobic? Kinda tinny too… it's a certain style though
The thock foam special

This was painful to watch

Andy do you have any plans on reviewing the NEO65 from owlabs/qk? asking cause it has an e yellow option with brass weight and gummy o ring
Unfortunately I'm not on the review list for that company after I reviewed the Link65 unfavorably lol
