I know just enough about computers to know better than to start changing settings. I recently had to reset my PC because of doing that while trying to get another application to work. That took many hours to do! I might have to cancel Surfshark instead. I got it for a quick and easy VPN, not trying to figure out "issues."
"Disabling the IPv6 will not affect your network negatively in any way". In certain conditions it most certainly can, it depends on your internet connection. Most gigabit equipment, especially that for fibre internet, relies on IPv6 and only uses IPv6 address resolving. IPv4 is only provided for legacy support (in my case I had to opt in for it because it's an outdated protocol), thus disabling IPv6 can result in significant slower address resolution and overall traffic degradation because you won't be able to use the part of your ISP's network that relies on IPv6 to function. If you're on a IPv6 exclusive network and disable IPv6, you may find it exceptionally hard to do anything online whatsoever. And if your VPN can't operate normally with IPv6, then it's not coded correctly

I have the same issue after my upgrade to Windows 11 I would lose access to the Internet after I disconnect from the VPN and there are times when it fails to connect to any server never had such issues on Windows 10 for now the only workaround is to restart all the Surfshark services via the task manager and everything will work fine again no need for a restart.
@@TechGamer-pq1gu My experience exactly with a clean install of windows 11. Have to force close all SS processes just to get my unfiltered connection back. Never had this constant recurring issue on Windows 10. Needs to be addressed.

Don't buy this VPN. You will regret it. Unstable and wastes a lot of time getting it to run correctly if at all. I don't even bother trying to connect it any more. A waste of money. Now I get "restart windows power shell" then "OOPS , that didn't work."
Will not stay connected. After three reconnect atempts a reboot is needed to be able to connects WITHOUT Surfshark. All get from them is "Read the guides, watch the video", which does not reflect the current version. Totally ignore my please for assistance. Deleting in the morning, demanding refund and going to NORDVPN which works perfectly on my client's computer.
WINDOWS 11 has the issues when you select 2 locations back to back it blocks your connections i cant change city's because i have to restart my computer to get connections again.

Cool... thx for the guide. But don't you realize that you are too fast in this guide? What's the rush? I don't think you want *the users* to rewind all the time. Anyhow, the service is unstable. I did start to use surfshark when I had Windows 10, then changed to Windows 11. Very tired of chatting with your support coz non of the suggested steps helps. Changing protocols, reinstalling the app, changing servers, and blablabla... I remember the time when I had another VPN service installed, it was more expensive... I installed it once, clicked on a button to activate - DONE! Didn't have to think about it at all. Surfchark - always something, ALWAYS! Discovered that one of the servers located in Europe is really unstable. What comes to others - they are ok. But I still need to reconnect when my PC has been in sleep or just restarted. Annoying, really annoying... Don't come here suggesting all of the stuff you were talking about here in the video or suggesting me all other basic stuff. It is *NOT* the client-side.

Well done Nick, could not agree more with every word you have said and my experience exactly. Was a Microsoft Certified Trainer back in the 2000/10 and taught TCP/IP and after my old VPN provider I suspect lost all their decent Teckies decided to move on and even though testing SS out, I reckon by fluke or they do on purpose when using their free trial got guys who knew their stuff. Two months in and recognizing much of what you sate ie blah,,blah asked to be released and have my money back, they refused. You are absolutely right about this guy's speed of instruction, far too fast and I should know have taught, trained and presented IT since 1982. Their support instructions both on their website and CHAT is an absolute joke, all you end up doing is chasing your tail (ie a round robin'. The support often just paste exactly what is on their web page. A standard test which I give them only 5 seconds to come back to me, so they can't google it , is to give default Class A, B & C subnet masks. it is obvious they have had zero training or experience of networking. Don't know about you but only the last two months I often find I have lost my VPN connection and on looking down on that pathetic little blue SS logo on tthe task bar, has greyed out and thus surfing with no VPN, which is the whole point of using them. Have attempted to get some higher level support but it is always the same old instructions. Absolutely zero discussion tor knowledge hat major websites such as Amazon and Ebay now detect VPN activity and you get the message cannot connect, requiring you to disconnect to get a hand shale from their server and then once established a connection can then do a SS Quick Connect. I also find the so-called static IPs regularly drop out and even confirming the star I find I have to reconnect. You are spot on about them trying to make out, it is a client system issue. I very much believe that much of what they offer is effectively have a bogus system with the customer endlessly thinking the problem is their own system as oppose the very complex and the ever-changing nature of the internet especially sites protecting themselves from attacks ie DOS ones. SS reminds me very much of an experiment done by a phycologist (forget the name) that got people to think when sat in front of a load of dials, levers and knobs that they were applying mild electrical shocks to a person in the next room, who would pretend that it hurt. Of course, it was just all fake, I suspect most of their options ie Cleanweb do nothing at all. Been looking at Algo VPN piggybacking on a DigitalOcean or Scaleway servers but to be honest now 70 I no longer have the inclination to do so and while SS is taking my money, too lazy to dump them,

After I did a network reset on my Win 10, the OS doesn't load properly. It loads to a Desktop and I can see all icons but then it keeps refreshing the desktop, cursor changes into a spinning cursor and I can't load my OS properly. Clicking doesn't work but Ctrl+Alt+Del does. How do I fix this, Surfshark? I'm annoyed and frustrated. It never happened to me before 😠
@@Ashok_Majhi Create a new Windows user account, whether it's administrator or regular type. That worked for me. At least I can use Win, work with files and it responds. Also, right now I'm choosing between deleting all Surfshark files by file search and register file search and then installing a new one, or installing a new Windows, or buying a 2nd laptop. Surfshark disabled on startup (on options), but the service isn't. Result: surfshark always starts on windows 10 the service and the vpn is on all the time. I can only kill it by disabling the surfshark service on services. This should never happen, I should only have a VPN on when I choose to (if not on startup options).

The obverse stuff waste about 30% of the Video the main issue is that Microsoft has your IP number and when it all comes through one VPN IP it sees you as a security issue best is not to use a public VPN

Way to much verbal without any reference to download a Pdf or step by step to work on this at a much slower pace. We're human not robots. Those of us that use your Tutorials are not all fluent on every aspect of computers and really don't care to learn. Too bring it home clearly. I accessed SurfShark, which is far more than most people would do using your service videos. And while I slowly get the gist of what your talking about, I still would like written text to be able to address each issue one at a time.
Be VERY CAREFUL about doing the last step (the network reset through surfsharks diagnostic tool) because it can wreck your PC... After i did that step and restarted my pc nothing worked, no wifi networks were visible, surfshark didn't work, steam, discord, docker, windows explorer, basically everything was broken.. restarted it multiple times, same thing, couldn't even run the diagnostic tool again, it just wouldn't turn on.. couldn't find much on the internet (with my phone cuz my pc was obviously messed up), but after some reddit browsing i found few recent posts with identical problems but no answers, and one 2 year old post that said to restart my network from windows directly. After i did that and restarted the PC everything was back in working order..

Поставил сегодня. Там раз подключилось и все далее глюки. Даже стандартно не смог перезагрузить комп. Кнопкой перезагрузил и увидел что винда сломалась еле восстановил. Вывод вообще га....но не вздумайте ставить

I ended up installing the browser extension and seems to work, couldn't fix the app.
So basically disable everything it's supposed to do

Those of us that use your Tutorials are not all fluent on every aspect of computers and really don't care to learn. Too bring it home clearly. I accessed SurfShark, which is far more than most people would do using your service videos. And while I slowly get the gist of what your talking about, I still would like written text to be able to address each issue one at a time.
Be VERY CAREFUL about doing the last step (the network reset through surfsharks diagnostic tool) because it can wreck your PC...
After i did that step and restarted my pc nothing worked, no wifi networks were visible, surfshark didn't work, steam, discord, docker, windows explorer, basically everything was broken.. restarted it multiple times, same thing, couldn't even run the diagnostic tool again, it just wouldn't turn on..
couldn't find much on the internet (with my phone cuz my pc was obviously messed up), but after some reddit browsing i found few recent posts with identical problems but no answers, and one 2 year old post that said to restart my network from windows directly.
After i did that and restarted the PC everything was back in working order..

Поставил сегодня. Там раз подключилось и все далее глюки. Даже стандартно не смог перезагрузить комп. Кнопкой перезагрузил и увидел что винда сломалась еле восстановил. Вывод вообще га....но не вздумайте ставить

TO ANY AND ALL SIMPLY DISABLE YOUR ANTIVIRUS FOR 5 MIN THEN IT USUALLY WILL CONNECT THEN RECONNECT YOUR ANTI VIRUS AND VWALA ALSO IF IT HAS AN UPDATE I SUGGEST SIMPLY UNINSTALLING THE ENTIRE PROGRAM AND USING A FRESH INSTALL AND YES RESTART THE PC IT CLEARS THE CACHE & OTHER PARTS OF YOUR PC SO THINGS RUN SMOOTHER AFTER AWHILE YOU CANT FIGHT AND WIN YOUR OWN PROCESS THIS PROGRAM ROCKS 🤠🙈🙉🙊
