  • This video was recorded as part of the research and development needed to determine whether or not the Afiscooter C model was capable of working with Lithium batteries. We tested the range of the Afiscooter when powered by 2 x 12 Volt 60 Amp-Hour LiFe batteries. This video is very long because we needed to document the entire ride which lasted more than 3 hours. We sped up a lot of the video, but it's still over an hour long. You can fast-forward to the end or use the chapter list to get to the end.
    NOTE: The only way to keep your warranty and upgrade to lithium for any Afikim Scooters is to purchase from MobilityDirect.com. If you buy third party batteries and install them yourself, you will void your warranty. Mobility Direct is the exclusive dealer in the USA permitted to sell Afiscooters with Lithium Batteries and battery meters that are calibrated for Lithium Batteries.
    We tested these batteries in a real-life scenario, meaning we went all over the city from the beach to downtown and off-road. We went over rugged terrain, cross walks, bridges, on steep slopes with uneven grass. We even used the scooter's USB charging port to charge our camera batteries for the first 2 hours. Afiscooter C3 Li (Lithium) Range Test
    The scooter still went a total of 30.8 miles on a full charge with all of these factors at play. If you were to use this scooter on flat surfaces, while not charging any usb-powered devices like we were, you can expect to get even more range.
    The standard sealed lead acid batteries are going to be tested in our next video. We will take the same route, with the same scooter to see how far the standard SLA batteries last. Our guess is that they will only make it 20 miles because we were going full speed and traveling on rough terrain a lot of the time.
    The rated travel range is 25 to 28 miles, but that is when you are going on flat surface and a minimum weight load. The real-life scenarios that our customers use these scooters for typically involve rugged terrain and inclines. That is why we are doing these range test videos on varied terrains, not just flat surfaces.

    Thank you for being open and honest about what you do Lithium isnt always heard of in mobility scooters but I wonder if the Affkim s4 could have Lithium the range the scooter your riding in this video its rather interesting it reassures people about what they have is legit
    Im liking the music

      The Afikim S4 is unstoppable with lithiums! Our CEO broke the world record for the longest distance traveled on a mobility scooter within 24 hours on an Afikim S4 with giant lithium batteries :)

    Regarding the factors you posted along with the final mileage: I liked those factors, because that made this a real world test, not a perfect conditions test. It gives a great idea of what I could really expect. PS: Do I win a free basket for watching the entire video all the way through? 😇

    I live in Staten Island New York so this video was actually a real good help for me because I have a lot of hills over here and when I drive my scooter I’m driving up a lot of hills a lot about the sidewalks Bumpy roads so this video did help me the only thing that you have to change all you have to calibrate is the battery gauge that reads the lithium batteries properly Siri so you don’t get a dramatic fall off at the end of the charge cycle but it did help me a lot I’m really considering doing this I just hope they can figure out how to program the battery gauge reads the lithium batteries probably

    Actually this video did help me because I live in the city and it’s actually pretty good to see how this how do you school doesn’t lithium batteries in the city the only thing that I would have to fix would be the battery Grage so that it reads the lithium batteries properly so you don’t get that dramatic fall off at the end of the charger cycle

    30.8 miles with lithium batteries doesn't seem like much of an upgrade on a scooter advertised for 25 miles with lead batteries.

      In this video, we were going up multiple inclines, off-road and on full speed. When the manufacturer does a test, they go on flat ground at a slow speed and with a very lightweight person, which is a lot more efficient. If you were to do the same test with lithium batteries, using a lightweight person only on flat ground and no inclines, you would most likely get closer to 40 miles!

    I own an AFIKIM BREEZE C-4 and I am considering changing to Lithium, but I'm not too sure about the charger that came with my scooter.

      @@MobilityDirect Thank you! Right now I'm consider the Cost of the Lthiums vs the overall weight. I realize the Lithiums are lighter and last longer, but I need to do my homework in price. Meanning I need to evaluate my weekly travels, beside from home to work which less then 1/4 mile in both directions. Actually I'm right around the corn from work/store, because I work GIANT / MARTIN'S SUPERMARKET. I call once I'm ready. Take Care!

    How is this an upgrade if you could only get 30 more 30.8 miles the standard batteries get about 30 miles already so how is this an upgrade

    • @MobilityDirect
      @MobilityDirect  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Negative, the standard batteries will not go nearly as far on full speed and varied types of terrain. Stay tuned, well prove it in our next video.

      @@MobilityDirect I’ll be waiting cause I definitely want to upgrade you have to figure out the battery 🔋 gage so it reads them right

    • @josephmirigliano8728
      @josephmirigliano8728 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you could have the battery gauge fixed so that it can read the lithium batteries properly without drop it off at a fast pace like it does at the end I’m going to rewatch this whole video again but I got a fix the battery so it doesn’t drop off at the end
