Personally I have and use Garmont T8 bifida. I only had them for about 5-6 weeks and the anckle part started freying the first few days and then recently got a massive hole on the side of them. They arent bad boots, because theyre comfy, but my experiences with them just wasnt the best.
What are the standard issue combat boots now? I was in the 82nd airborne 34 years ago and we were issued jungle boots. But cant remember what I was issued in basis. Thank you for your service to this this great country!!

I also have them in black for my civilian job as well and they have lasted a long time. VERY light weight. 16 oz (The lightest I know of) Also I like the Nike due to appearance. They look much more like military issued boots. I don't like all the funky designs . I don't want people to know my feet are actually comfortable and that I am not wearing my issued boots.
Field boots an garrison boots? Shit man I’d just wear the same boots for everything. Tactical Research Khyber Mountains are the best boats. Held up great in the rocky terrain of Afghanistan. There was a few times I had to wear my issued cold weather boots in Afghanistan. The coldest I’ve ever been was in that damn country.
Definitely the Bifadas over the nfs for functionality. Comfort wise they are about the same, walking on pavement and roads and garrison type duties the nfs is the best choice.
I was very disappointed with the Rocky S2V. VERY expensive and came apart first time in the field. The thread broke that attached the sole to the leather and that was it. I could put 4 fingers into the boot between the sole and the leather. They are Very comfortable tho i will give them that love how well the felt on my feet however that really doesn't matter if your broke and barefoot in formation. Now your ass is going to hurt after 1st Sgt chews it up and spits it out

Went hiking around Colorado in my Nike sfb field 2 boots and they were so comfortable and did really well

I personally like the Nike gen 2 for rucking.
I used the oakleys assaults during the Norwegian ruck and left me with blisters everywhere.
I wear some Lowa boots and they are amazing. Anything from the Z-8 line should be really good

Oakley assault boots, I will say, may cause bad heel blisters. It may have been just me, but it is something to look out for.

Khyber 2's are the way to go. They're heavy..just get stronger and you won't regret it.

Back in 1984 we had black boots we had to shine they were horrible the in soles were even worse that's all gone no more shinning boots
I feel that, currently in the Navy and we still wear black leather boots, If they’re not shined or scuffed up stand by for an ass chewing from Chief😂

Rocky is the best field boots. nike is too soft for actual combat.
